Demeter had a plan.
It had been more than a millenia ago , when Zeus allowed that rotten old corpse to abduct her beloved Kore , and not only that ,the king had let him off without any punishment !!
Every year she had to bear the absence of her beloved daughter, as the world grew barren in winter.
Sure these past few years she spent time with the her daughter in the underworld, sure she had screamed plenty at Hades , it was this winter she realised that the King had gone unpunished , unpunished for not serving justice, unpunished for not taking care of Persephone unlike the other daughters of his whom he doted upon. ( They even had a seat in olympus !)
If only she could give the king a taste of what she felt , too bad that she had to drag Poseidon into it .
Eh she had already convinced Artemis to be in on it , she would find a way to placate him as well

Tracking down Percy Jackson to his apartment in New York was simple enough .
Deciding to respect his privacy, instead of flashing right in , she knocked on the front door and rang the bell .
The door opened , the half blood demigod looked at her , she could see it on his face he was irritated .
With pursed lips and barely hid reluctance he spoke " Lady Demeter..........come in I suppose ."
It was clear that the boy was not happy . But eh ,her revenge was more important.
She made herself comfortable on the couch as the demigod went to get some water from the kitchen .
Demeter mentally revised through her plan , she had to be careful with this . She had to make sure he would accept the plan and that she did not accidentally offend Poseidon .
Everyone knew after all , how protective Poseidon was of Percy after all, going as far as to announce ( threaten ) that no one would give Percy any quests .
And here she was breaking one of his rules.
Handing her a glass of water the boy settled him self on one of the beanbags opposite her .
" I have a quest for you "
Percy did not even bat an eyelash " My father has banned giving me quests "
Demeter did not relent " A request than "
Percy raised his eyebrow, this was new " Request ?"
Demeter swallowed her pride "Yes , a request , in return I will do something for you ..perhaps give your young sister protection ?"
"She already has artemis's eternal protection and an offer to join the hunters if she wishes so in the future "
Demeter tried to control her anger at the Demigod who turned her down as if she were some minor goddess.
Calming herself , she thought of the only other way she could get him on board .
"However " Percy began speaking , raising her hopes " I am curious , what could it possibly be that has you here requesting me to help ?"
" I need you to kidnap one of Zeus's children or his favoured nymphs "
Percy choked on the water he was drinking , he yelped "WHAT , ARE YOU CRAZY ??"
Well he was clearly shocked .
Demeter bristled at being called crazy , nevertheless opened her mouth to explain herself, however she was interuppted by a startling " NO , I am not doing it whatever you say "
She ignored it , and explained anyways .
" Listen Percy , I know you are clearly against this . Both because it would anger Zeus and because it is against your morals to be forceful with anyone . I understand and respect that .But listen firstly , when the time comes for Zeus's wrath , infront of the whole council I will claim responsibility . I will say I forced you to do it or something .
Secondly , it does not have to be a real kidnapping , you just need to stage one . I have spoken with Artemis , she said that whoever you decide to kidnap she will inform them in their mind that it is not real , it is staged and that they are very safe with you. I just need you to take them till Alaska "
Percy knew the gods were crazy , he just had'nt thought that even the usually marginally sane ones like Demeter had also lost it .The sea prince stared at the goddess as if she was high on magic mushrooms.
He sighed , rubbing his temples , he could not deal with these gods." Might I ask , Why ?"
Demeter jumped up at the chance to rant about her poor Persephone's injustices to someone new ." Zeus must be punished , he must understand my pain. He let that stupid corpse take away my dearest Kore , and get away with it that also unpunished . O how pale she has grown staying there in that wretched place , I tell her to eat cereal and fix it but noooooo she does not even listen to me these days . Even though she is Zeus's daughter as well , he did not care but oh dont you see how he cares about his other immortal spawn ? if not from worry but from ego ? Do you see how possesive he is of his off limit nymphs ? But when my Kore got abducted , he did absolutely nothing , nada , zilch . "
Percy looked at the goddess with wide eyes , he was almost impressed at the goddess's ability to keep a grudge . As much as he hated to admit it he was kind of invested in it as well . ( sue him , he liked the olympian drama when it was not centered around him , he blamed Apollo and his influence for this )
" Okay " He began wearily ,a plan already forming in his mind " If you swear that I will be safe and I wont be cursed , my friends and family wont be cursed or killed , I will do it "
Demeter was excited to see Zeus lose his shit , she wondered who is it that Percy would abduct . Certainly not Athena or Artemis . Would he risk Hera's wrath by abducting one of her and Zeus's daughters? or would he wisk away a favoured nymph instead ??? How would he do it ? When would he do it ?? and most importantly how big of a tantrum would Zeus throw ??? Oh she was excited alright . It was going to be a interesting month on olympus .
Demeter smiled " Why ,I swear on my divinity and river styx as well ...just get me my justice " and with that she flashed away , the smell of sugarcane lingering in the air.
Percy sighed , Di immortales , these immortals were a hand full .
