If you asked Tiresias, he would say that didn’t have preferences when it came to his partners. As long as they were kind and understanding, he didn’t need anything else.

But then Hermes came into the picture.

———

Tiresias sighed as he sat near the edge of the water, slowly undoing his long braid as he ran his fingers through it. A displeased hum left him as he felt all the knots in it, he had enough time to deal with it before his special visitor came down to ‘surprise’ him.

Special Visitor…

God….

Hermes…

Tiresias felt himself shiver and his face burn at the thought of the god.

The two had started dating not long ago, Hermes confessing one fateful night after a tragic vision has struck Tiresias that saw their fate in the very distant future. Though lately, Tiresias had found himself consumed by the other man once more. Not because of his soft wings, or Curly hair, or freckles…but because of his pure strength.

Hermes was strong, that wasn’t shocking news as all gods were strong…but something about how Hermes could do it without breaking a single sweat was hypnotizing. Most mortals assumed that Hermes was weaker than the other gods because he was only a messenger, if anything he’d only have strong legs but they couldn’t be anymore wrong.

Tiresias remembered the day he first had the realization.

———

He was displeased about the placement of his usual sitting rock, over the years it has slowly inched its way away from the water and it displeased the prophet. Of course he tried to do it himself, not feeling like burdening the god (who was already on his way) so he tried to move it, but he didn’t have the strength to do it. The rock barely budged as he used all of his strength to push it.

After a few more minutes of painfully trying to move the rock, he sighed as he heard flapping wings getting louder and louder. Tiresias stood there as he heard loud feet land on the ground.

“Dawling! Hello! It must be such a surprise for me to be here!” The god grinned as he walked towards Tiresias, patting the man’s head and ruffling up his hair. Tiresias pulled his head away and grumbled.

“It’s never a surprise…” he looked away from where he knew Hermes was standing. The god let out a dramatic gasp as he fell back onto the rock.

“How cruel! Your words hurt my heart!” He gasped out, arching his back and putting his arm across his head, making him look like a dismal in distress. Tiresias felt his eyes roll but also a small grin rose on his face. He did enjoy the gods' company, it was the highlight of his afterlife, but he still had things to accomplish and he didn’t wish to be pestered while trying.

“Could you be dramatic somewhere else, my lord? I have things I must do…” he faced the god, who let out a displeased sigh but also springing up from his position. “Dawling~, what have I told you about calling me that? Call me Hermes.” He went quiet for a moment before a sly grin went on his face “I like hearing my name coming from you.” He said as he winked. Tiresias blushed slightly as he looked away, causing the grin on Hermes face to grow in size. “Besides, what’s more important than hanging out with A GOD?” He asked with a tilt of his head, crossing his legs.

Tiresias saw two ways this could go…he could not tell Hermes and then god would keep bugging him and he would never move the rock, or he could tell Hermes and he would move the rock and then keep bugging Tiresias.

He would say it was a lose lose situation but he did enjoy his time with Hermes…not that he would tell the god that.

A small sigh left Tiresias as he gripped his staff, lifting it up and pointing to the rock that Hermes sat on.

“That rock. It used to sit by the water but over the years it moved away…I was going to try to move it back to its original location.” He told the god, placing his staff back onto the floor. Tiresias don’t know what to expect, he saw thousands of ways the god could move the rock all in the stupidest ways ever, so when the god got up, picked up the boulder with one hand and chucked it across the land as if he was throwing an apple, a sudden wave of heat flashed through Tiresias.

“There! All done! Now I say we go to Olympus, I heard there’s a game going on! Though I wasn’t invited to be in it!!! How cruel!!! I’m a very impo-“ Hermes rambled but the words became dull to Tiresias ears as he continued to stare at the direction the rock was thrown. He slowly walked over to it, hands gently brushing over it. The water rushing was louder, and the souls quieter. Another rush of heat went through him.

Tiresias had met strong mortals before, people who could throw rocks the same size… but not so easily. Not without breaking a sweat.

Not like a god could.

Not like Hermes could.

How strong was Hermes truly?

Was he strong enough to pick up an entire castle? An entire mountain? The ocean itself?

And if he could… Would he do it if Tiresias asked?

Bright red blush covered his face at the thought, but before he could get lost in thought, a strong arm grabbed his shoulder and dragged him away.

The thoughts quickly left Tiresias' mind as he snapped out of his trance and followed the god.

———

Once they got to Olympus, they found some open seats in the arena… From the little Tiresias heard coming from Hermes mouth, Apollo got a vision of Athena asking Zeus for help to free Odyssey from Calypso island, and that it would somehow turn into a game. While everyone waited for Athena to arrive, some of the gods created a contest for people to participate in.

“I HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR ANYONE WHO DARES TO TRY!!!” A loud voice boomed over the audience, who cheered with anticipation. Ares scooped a tiny pebble out of his pocket, seemingly with the finest bit of struggle, and dropped it onto a table made out of diamonds…the table broke instantly and the crowd gasped. “This pebble is the heaviest item to ever exist. WHO WILL FACE THIS CHALLENGE HEAD ON?!?” He roared as the crowd once again cheered. As soon as the challenge was created, multiple other gods who sat in the crowd began to make their way down to the arena floor.

Tiresias sighed, he already knew how this would turn out…from what he saw no one would be able to move it, not even an inch…but in the back a foggy vision could be felt, but he couldn’t grasp it. Tiresias hissed in displeasure as he turned to face Hermes, before he could say anything he felt a kiss to a cheek and heard a quick “Be back dawling!” Before the god jumped down to the front of the stadium. Tiresias blushed at the action, but hissed again as the vision made itself known.

Why couldn’t he grab the vision?

The prophet shook his head, deciding he’d worry about it later as look back to the main arena, watching as multiple gods tried and failed to pick the rock up…he has to admit it was a bit amusing.

As he saw Hermes getting closer and closer to the pebble, thoughts about earlier entered his mind…Just because Hermes was able to pick up a rock doesn’t mean he’d be able to pick this tiny pebble up. He’s a god! Any god could have picked up that rock, but clearly not this pebble.

But as Tiresias thought about it, a gasp was heard from the audience. Tiresias blinked and focused on Hermes, only for him to be staring confused at his hand…and in his hand was the pebble.

“Uhhhhhh…Dawling! Is this the right pebble? I expect somewhat of a challenge…” Hermes yelled to Ares who stared dumbfounded at the other god. Silence filled the arena before everyone started screaming and cheering. Hermes' confused expression turned to one of a cocky grin as he started to bow and wave (and throw a wink to Tiresias). He threw the pebble onto the ground without a second thought, causing a small dent to appear.

Tiresias was still staring in shock.

His face was burning, his body was so hot, was he overheating? This couldn’t be normal.

Hermes picked the pebble up. He picked it up like it was a normal ass pebble and not one that probably weighed as much as the earth did.

Tiresias felt like he needed to run. To get away from Hermes as fast as possible because something was wrong with himself. He could feel his heart beating, could feel his body getting warmer, could feel how sweaty his body became.

All he wanted right now was to either go back down to the cold underworld, or beg Hermes to pin him down and-

A warm hand touched his arm and Tiresias flinched away, a very confused Hermes stared at him with a tilted head.

“Dawling? Are you alright?” The god asked. Tiresias quickly fixed himself, and nodded his head.

“I’m fine. It’s just…hot.” He mumbled to Hermes and he pulled his sleeves down. Hermes slowly nodded, a suspicious look in his eyes before a grin spread across his face and that suspicious look turned into a knowing one. He nodded.

“Of course you are! I mean you just saw a god do the impossible! Wasn’t I just amazing, Dawling? Oh! I wish you could have seen it! I was-“ Tiresias froze at the first few words. Hermes didn’t know what effect he had on him, right? No no. Of course not, Hermes was intelligent but not intelligent enough to see through Tiresias.

Everything will be fine, the prophet told himself as he nodded along to Hermes' words.

After today everything will be fine. It was just a busy day and his emotions were running high for some odd reason. That’s all.

Everything will be fine.

———

Everything was not fine.

Hermes definitely knew.

And it drove Tiresias insane.

Whenever Tiresias checks on Hermes using his abilities, the god would somehow be carrying something heavier and heavier each time while flying through the sky with messages.

Whenever Hermes came to visit he would move giant boulders around claiming he wanted to ‘free up more space’

He would challenge other gods to wrestling matches (he somehow always won)

And every time, Tiresias would get so flustered and his entire body would burn, it never seemed to stop until Hermes left him and was alone and able to cool himself down.

But nothing changed. The two started dating durring this time, but Hermes never really changed… he was still his cocky flirty self but he never tried to make a move to increase the intensity in the relationship even after torturing the prophet for hours, and he couldn’t handle it anymore.

———

A loud gasp left Tiresias as he was forced out of his vision, strong arms scooped him up into a tight embrace that spun them around. Tiresias blushed heavily as he heard a low whisper in his ear.

“Darling~” Hermes laughed as he spun them around once again before he landed on the floor, clearly having no intention of letting Tiresias go. “What has you so lost in thought my dear prophet? You didn’t even hear me come in! For once I truly do surprise you!” He laughed again as he kissed Tiresias cheek.

Tiresias' head was still spinning. He had gotten so lost looking into the past that he had forgotten about the present and the future. Tiresias felt his hands on top of Hermes shoulders and he slowly traced the muscle as he finally realized what Hermes did.

He picked Tiresias up.

With no issue.

As if Tiresias weighed no more than that pebble did back in Olympus.

And it was hot.

A low whimper left Tiresias as he hid his face in Hermes' chest, increasing the tightness of his grip. He couldn’t control it, after all this endless teasing from Hermes he had finally let a crack show. The prophet could feel the vibration from Hermes' chest as he laughed.

“What’s wrong darling? Come on, you can tell me~” Hermes grinned. Tiresias’s hand left Hermes' shoulder and grabbed the front of his toga and brought his head down into a brutal kiss which Hermes happily followed along with. Tiresias tore himself away as the two breathed heavily.

“How long have you known?” Tiresias managed to ask as he felt Hermes slowly start to kiss up his neck.

“Oh Darling, I've known since Olympus, you didn’t hide it all that well~” to really make his point show, he bit down into the collar of Tiresias neck, making him yelp as the pain slowly turned to pleasure.

“Then…why didn’t you do anything about it…” Tiresias whispered. He felt very embarrassed. He had figured that Hermes knew for a while, but he really did think he was able to hide what he felt for longer. It was embarrassing to have been seen so quickly. Hermes playful bit him once again before speaking.

“Because you're a prophet, I wanted to make it a surprise for when I would finally take the next step and today just so happened to be it! Truly wonderful~” he grinned against Tiresias' skin. Tiresias whimpered again, once more trying to hide face in Hermes' chest but the god refused to let him. “Darling, what do you want?”

“Your strength. Please. Show me your strength.”

“Of course Darling~”

Tiresias felt himself being thrown across Hermes' shoulder as they went deeper into the cave.
