Chapter Text
Caitlyn hated Mathematics class. She only hated it because she had to see that idiot ex of hers ‘Maddie Nolan’. They had dated for about six months but broke up because Maddie was just so controlling and the thing Caitlyn hated most…a bully. Maddie and her little group went around the school picking on anyone who they thought was beneath them. Caitlyn scowled at the thought, Maddie was such a idiot…her and her group.
But mathematics wasn’t all that bad. Only because she sat next to the most kind and beautiful person she had ever laid eyes on. Violet Vanderdon. Violet wasn’t like most people, she moved to Piltover with her dad and sister from Zaun about five months ago. So she was kind of new. Not only that, she loved how Vi mainly stayed to herself. What caught Caitlyn’s eye was that, Vi had a disability; she was blind.
She didn’t quite catch it when she first met Vi, but slowly she saw the hints. She remembers the first day Vi came to her class. Vi walked with delicately…Calculated. And then came the glasses, at first Caitlyn thought Vi was just being weird for wearing sunglasses indoors. But then, Vi did something; the teacher handed papers out to the class, Vi got out a pencil and sat it on the desk…and then the pencil rolled. But at the time, Vi was focused on zipping up her bag; so when she went to grab the pencil, it wasn’t there.
Caitlyn saw Vi tap around the desk for the pencil, and then it clicked. Vi was blind which would explain why Vi walked well calculated, wore glasses indoors and whenever the teacher talked…she would perk her head to the side to listen. That was five weeks ago…and she still hadn’t introduced herself to Vi. Not because she didn’t want to but because she was nervous, she was afraid of saying the wrong thing. So whenever she came to this class, she would sit there in silence and every now and then, she would steal glances at Vi.
In her opinion, Vi was stunning every-time she saw her. Vi was well toned, well fit which Caitlyn nearly drooled over a couple of times, her hair was a hot pink color; shaved on one side, and then Caitlyn loved the way Vi had the cutest face. VI’s face was almost baby like. She had a set of freckles going across her nose, her cheeks were slightly rounded…which Caitlyn thought it was cute, and then the piercings. Caitlyn noticed that Vi had a lot of them. One in her nose, and some in her ear.
And then, that damn scar on her pink filled lips…wait, what is she thinking? They haven’t even talked. Caitlyn shook her head and cursed at herself. She distracted herself by opening up her notes and started going over them until the bell rung for the class to start. Students came through the door and filled the desks as the chatter grew louder. Maddie and her group walked in and walked to the back of the class. Caitlyn witnessed this and scoffed as she felt Maddie’s eyes on her. The audacity she had Caitlyn thought.
And then, Caitlyn turned her head towards the door and saw her. That damn beautiful woman; Vi. Vi had on some black tight jeans, a white shirt that hugged her muscles, and some black and white worn converse. Vi held her bag in one hand and her black hoodie in the other as she quickly but carefully walked around the desks, making sure to not bump into them. Then as she felt that she was at her desk, she stopped for a moment, looks straight ahead and then slowly sat down. Caitlyn held her breath as she smelt a whiff of VI’s odor. Vi smelt like man spray and cinnamon. Gods she smelt so good.
Caitlyn looked down at her notes and then, she had the urge to look up and take a glance Vi. But then, she felt guilty for looking for too long, so looked back down. And then, she heard it…Vi spoke.
“Hello” VI’s voice was gentle as an angels.
Caitlyn’s heart raced as she looked up and saw the woman looking at her. The glasses were in the way of her seeing VI’s eyes but damn, Vi still looked fucking amazing. She cleared her throat and spoke “Hi” and then she saw VI’s mouth crook up into a small genuine smile, the scar on her lip went up. “I’m Vi, it’s nice to meet you” Vi said gentle as ever as she held her hand up for Caitlyn to shake.
Caitlyn looked down at the woman’s hand and her breath caught, her stomach did flips. She Stammered as she spoke and took VI’s hand. “I-umm Hi, I’m Caitlyn…Caitlyn Kiramman.” VI’s hand was soft and warm, so fucking warm. And then she felt Vi slightly squeeze hers. Fuck. Just then, the teacher walked in as the bell rang. “Alright class, let’s get started shall we”
Vi gently let go and turned her head to the front “it’s nice to meet you Caitlyn” she said with a smile. Caitlyn just sat there flustered as class went on….oh boy was she in for it.
The rest of the class, Neither women spoke; but Caitlyn didn’t mind, she knew Vi didn’t really speak to others much. She also noticed that Vi was very smart in Mathematics. The teacher passed out the previous test from last week and the test was pretty intense. It was much harder than Caitlyn anticipated. To her shock, she passed with a ninety percent. She then looked over at VI’s paper and her jaw dropped, Vi had passed with a one hundred percent. Damn, and she’s fucking smart…
After class, Caitlyn gathered her things and was about to stand; when Maddie and her group approached.
“Kiramman we need to talk” Maddie said with a smirk.
Caitlyn scoffed “I have nothing to say to you, leave”
“Oh come on babe, don’t be like that”
“Don’t call me that!” Caitlyn raised her voice.
Maddie put her hands up in surrender “woah, no need to get upset…babe”
Caitlyn’s face went red, just as she was about to speak, she heard a soft voice intervene.
“She said, leave”
Maddie, her group and Caitlyn looked down at the other desk and saw that Vi was still sitting there. Damn she’s that quiet, Caitlyn had forgot Vi was there.
“Who the hell are you?” Maddie said annoyed
“I’m the person who told you to leave her alone” Vi said.
Maddie scoffed as her eyes laid on the glasses Vi was wearing. She then, cleared her throat and in a flash, she swiped VI’s glasses from her face.
“Oh what do we have here? These are nice” Maddie said as she put them on. Her group started to laugh.
Caitlyn looked over to see the hurt in VI’s eyes. She saw the scars and her milky blue eyes as clear as day. She somehow could tell that Vi was hurt. So without a blink, she got up and snatched the glasses back. “What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you crazy?! That was rude!” Maddie smirked and backed up “my bad Kiramman, next time tell her to mind her business” Maddie said as she urged her group to leave. When Maddie was gone, Caitlyn immediately turned to Vi and started to apologize.
“Vi I’m sorry…please forgive me” she sympathetically said as she sat Vi’s glasses on the desk. Vi really looked hurt, she was so hurt; she got up, grabbed her things, put her glasses back on and left without a word. Maddie ruined everything, sure Caitlyn was popular and had lots of friends; but they weren’t her real friends. They only hung out with her because she was popular and her family came from money. But Vi felt different…and just as she was getting to know Vi, Maddie ruined it. Caitlyn sighed and gathered her things. She got up and then left the class with a heavy heart.
