Chapter 1: Encounters

Chapter Text

It had been three long, lonely weeks at Privet Drive with no communication from his friends when the packet arrived. The fierce looking owl that made the delivery patiently waited while Harry removed the large thick envelope. After getting some water and treats for the owl, Harry sat on his rickety bed and opened the flap. Inside was a sealed letter and a stack of papers. Harry broke the seal and began reading.

Dear Harry,

My name is Tony DiNozzo-Paddington. I am an American auror that liaises with non-magical law enforcement agencies. I have worked in many places, most recently Washington DC with NCIS. NCIS, Naval Criminal Investigative Services, is an agency that investigates crimes for the US Navy.

This is where the story gets weird. About a month ago, I died. A very disturbed individual sent an envelope full of a deadly plague and I was unfortunate enough to open the envelope. Because of the extreme hazard of the substance I was exposed to, I was in a non-magical hospital with no way to contact a magical healer. Even my magic was not enough to save me. Although the plague itself did not kill me, the resulting pneumonia did.

Obviously, I didn't stay dead but in those few minutes while the doctors worked frantically to revive me, my soul left my body. During this time it encountered another soul that had been released at the exact same moment.

I can't even begin to explain to you what happened. There isn't anyone I can ask. More accurately, there isn't anyone I'm willing to ask. Strange as my experience has been, the last thing I want is someone poking about my soul to figure out an explanation. The best I can figure is that my soul somehow merged briefly with this other soul. I am still myself but more. I have all the memories of another person.

It has taken me several weeks to get to the point I could write this letter. First, there was my physical recovery. Once I was released from the non-magical hospital, I could see a magical healer who was able to speed the rest of my healing considerably. There is still damage that needs to be healed but that needs specialized healers and can wait until I am in England. The bigger obstacle was learning to live with another person's memories added to my own.

I say memories. It is more than that. With those memories have come feelings. The most overwhelming feeling has been love but there is also a sense of urgency. It is the sense of urgency that has led me to send you this letter.

I am currently wrapping up my life here in the United States in preparation to travel to England. I have wizarding family there that will welcome me. They have always been a very private family and have remained neutral in the conflicts of individual governments. I expect to be in England in about a week. In the meantime, I encourage you to follow the recommendations that have been set down. Even if you don't quite believe me yet, it's still really good advice.

If you haven't guessed, the soul I encountered was that of Sirius Black. I'm sure this is hard to believe but I solemnly swear I am up to no good. I don't know how you'll find that reassuring but the memory of Sirius is sure.

In the last year, Sirius became more and more convinced that there were forces at work that did not have your best interests at heart. Based on Sirius' memories and my experience, the attached papers are our best recommendations for you.

I know this is a leap of faith. I'm a stranger and you have only my word but I beg you to trust me. Sirius Black loved you. You were a son to him although the ravages of Azkaban made it difficult for him to express it. He has many regrets about his choices but his greatest regret was that he couldn't be better for you. The one thing Sirius doesn't regret is coming to help you. He would do it again and again and again.

I hope by the time I meet you, you will have begun acting on these suggestions. Like Sirius, my life has not always been good and it has definitely not been easy. It is our hope that we can make yours better. You deserve only the best.

Sincerely,

Tony DiNozzo-Paddington and the spirit of Sirius Black

Harry read the letter three times. His emotions were all over the place. Anger. Grief. Joy. Sadness. Hope. Incredulity. Plus, everything in between.

Finally, Harry decided to read through the attached documents. If they made sense, he'd follow them.

First suggestion - bond with Dobby. Apparently, elves needed to bond with a wizard for optimum health. Dobby's desire for freedom did not change that. Sirius believed that Dobby would be willing to bond with Harry and it would benefit both of them. With Dobby's help, Harry would have a much easier time whatever he decided to do.

Okay, that made sense.

Harry called Dobby and discovered that the elf was more than willing to bond. It was a simple process but Harry very clearly felt the bond. It also took a lot longer than Harry expected. He watched in astonishment as Dobby seemed to fill out and get a bit taller and look overall healthier. That was the easy part. The hard part was really getting to know Dobby.

Actually, getting to know Dobby wasn't so much the problem as getting Dobby to calm down. It took nearly two hours. Fortunately, Dobby had enough presence of mind to soundproof the small bedroom before succumbing to tears of happiness. After the first ten minutes of watching Dobby alternate between pacing the room and throwing himself at Harry's feet, Harry surrendered. It was probably easier to just let Dobby get it out of his system. In the meantime, there was a lot more to read.

By the time Dobby was reasonably calm, Harry had the start of a plan.

“Hey Dobby, are there other places to stay besides the Leaky Cauldron?”

Today was the day. Harry felt like he had shed more tears in the last ten days than he had all of his life previously. At this point, he didn't believe there was an emotion he hadn't experienced. From devastating lows to indescribable joy. Three days ago, Harry got to meet Tony. That had been as much an emotional mess as everything else was. Tony was a lot like Sirius but also very different. Harry had known that Sirius wasn't okay. Seeing flashes of Sirius in Tony had highlighted how much Azkaban had affected all aspects of Sirius’ health.

It had all started with a trip to Gringotts. While Dobby took his trunk, Harry had quietly slipped out the kitchen door and over the back fence. Under the invisibility cloak, Harry made his way down Sandy Lane to the side of a small produce market where he had summoned the Night Bus. Managing to arrive at the bank without attracting any attention had been nerve-wracking but it had been easy to make an appointment, following Tony's instructions. A quick trip to his vault and Harry was on his way to a small inn further down the Alley.

The emotional roller coaster started the next morning. First was meeting Grimlock, the Black account manager, who had quite the story to tell. Then came the long, rambling letter from Sirius. The letter was short on details but long on emotion. There was no doubt that Sirius had loved Harry like a son. In fact, it turned out that somehow Harry was actually Sirius’ son but still James’ through something called Blood Adoption.

As the story unfolded, Harry’s world began to crumble. It would be an understatement to say that Sirius Black mistrusted the Leader of the Light. Over the course of Harry's school year, Sirius had made numerous trips to Gringotts with the assistance of Bill Weasley. It had started with the desire to understand where he stood in the Black family hierarchy. Access to Grimmauld Place had been proof that he had not been disowned by his parents. However, his grandfather, Arcturus Black, had died during Sirius' stay in Azkaban. Even incarcerated, Sirius should have been notified both about the death and the subsequent reading of the will. Neither had happened. Grimlock, who had been the Black family account manager for many decades, had sent notification to the Ministry to be passed on to Sirius. Even in Azkaban, Sirius had rights when it came to inheritance issues. As best Sirius could remember, he had never received any notifications. An investigation had confirmed that the Goblin Liaison Office had received the appropriate notices which had then been passed on to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. The information had never left those offices.

After discovering that he had been the sole inheritor of not only his parents wealth but also his grandfather's, Sirius had worked long hours with Grimlock to sort out the complex financial network known as Black Holdings. There were very few parts of the magical economy that were not connected in some way to Black Holdings. Even unattended, the Black fortune had grown. Both Lucius Malfoy and Albus Dumbledore had tried on an annual basis to access that fortune in Sirius' name. Grimlock had happily frustrated both men. At Grimlock’s urging, Sirius had written out a detailed will. It not only contained bequests but also exclusions. There would be no doubt who was and was not in favor with Sirius Black.

Once everything was in order on the financial side of things, Sirius hired the Goblins to audit and organize the numerous family vaults. Over many centuries, the Blacks had acquired not only wealth but literal tons of artifacts. This included artwork, historical relics, magical devices and anything else that caught someone's interest. At the start of the audit, Sirius owned twenty-seven vaults. The first few months had been spent cataloging everything. Sirius had a ledger that listed all the physical holdings as they were cataloged. He watched in fascinated horror as it updated daily. It was mid-December when Grimlock suggested Sirius might want to spend a day going through his personal vault.

Sirius might have been able to excuse Dumbledore's regular attempts to access the Black fortune as mere opportunism. Any excuse died when Sirius found James’ will witnessed by Dumbledore and clearly stating that Peter Pettigrew was the secret keeper. It was a devastating blow but the hits kept coming. There was also Lily's will similarly witnessed. There was a copy of the deed to the Godric's Hollow cottage showing Sirius Black as one of the owners. There was a Gringotts certification of the legal, magical and blood adoption of Harry James Potter by Sirius Black witnessed by James Potter, Lily Potter and Albus Dumbledore. These documents were gathered in a folder and brought a wave of memories that had been repressed by Dementor exposure. Each document showed the steps James, Lily and Sirius took to safeguard Harry's future. Each document showed the betrayal of Albus Dumbledore. It also showed complicity within the Ministry of Magic because each document should have a corresponding copy in the Ministry archives.

By the time the audits were completed and the vaults were organized and consolidated, Sirius Black was determined to save his son.

At the end of Harry's first Gringotts appointment, his world had turned upside down. The next step had been a reading of Sirius' will. Sirius had left quite a few generous bequests. Everything else was left to Harry. Everything else was not only a fortune but a business empire spanning centuries. At the same time that Harry learned he was extremely wealthy, he also learned he had been emancipated. All it needed was his signature of acceptance.

Grimlock had quickly recognized how overwhelming everything was for the young man sitting before him and scheduled a series of meetings. Grimlock would gradually introduce the Black heir to all that he needed to know but there was no rush. Now that the will had been read, the next order of business was a visit to the Healing Halls. Sirius Black had contracted with the Goblins to fully restore his son's health, including but certainly not limited to the use of the Goblin Rejuvenation Chamber. Grimlock told this to Harry with a promise of more details but first was a thorough examination by a healing team.

The only medical exam Harry Potter had ever experienced had been in the Hogwarts infirmary. A few waves of a wand then a few spells and maybe a potion or two. That was all the medical care Harry Potter had ever experienced. Expecting something similar, Harry was surprised to be directed to remove all his clothes and lay on what looked like a cushioned table in a large cavernous room. Harry was grateful for the sheet as he was soon being circled by five Goblins chanting and waving staffs nearly as long as the Goblins were tall. From Harry's perspective the chanting lasted hours. In reality, it was less than thirty minutes. As Harry was helped to sit, he saw one of the Goblins rolling up a long parchment.

“The healers and curse breakers will analyze the results and in two days time will present you with a recommended course of action,” Grimlock explained.

“Curse breakers?”

“Part of the process,” Grimlock responded. “More information is always better than less.”

There was one more task before Harry was given a portkey to Castle Black, an inheritance test. Seven drops of blood confirmed that Harry had three parents: James Fleamont Potter, Liliana Marie Evans and Sirius Orion Black, III.

At the end of the day, Harry was standing with Dobby meeting three elves. It had been a day of too many emotional blows and Harry could only stare at the overwhelming opulence that was the entry to Castle Black.

Harry spent the next day at Castle Black exploring. The more he saw, the more he loved the place. Grimlock had told him that Black Holdings owned many properties and he was free to live wherever he wanted but Harry knew that Castle Black would be his home. From the outside, the castle looked cold and desolate, surrounded by rocky crags and wild forest. Inside, generations of Blacks had made a home. Dark woods and vibrant colors brought each room to life.

Harry was followed around the castle by a young elf named Sorrel. When Harry and Dobby had arrived the previous evening, Dobby and the three elves, Sorrel, Rue and Sage, had engaged in an intense discussion. Rue would cook all meals at the castle and ensure that Harry's nutritional needs were met no matter where he was staying on any particular night. Sage took care of the house and gardens. He never left the castle and had no desire to do so. Dobby would act as Harry's personal assistant to take care of business and shopping. Dobby would also interact with outside elves and acquire any additional assistance that Harry needed. Sorrel would always be available to help Harry with anything he needed personally. Harry wasn't entirely sure what either Dobby or Sorrel would actually be doing but figured it would eventually become apparent. The elves had assertively informed Harry of their roles and Harry figured it was best not to question their certainty.

On the fourth day, Harry returned to Gringotts for the results of his health scan with Dobby alongside. Harry wasn't sure if it was the bonding or Dobby being where he wanted to be or doing what he wanted to do but whatever it was, Dobby was a much calmer elf. He was still quite energetic but not nearly as manic.

When Harry entered Grimlock's office, he saw two of the Goblins that had examined him sitting at a small conference table.

Grimlock stood from behind his desk and motioned toward the table, “Please join us, Mr Potter.”

Harry walked over and took one of the free seats. The goblins introduced themselves. Winnow Bloodspeaker was the Chief Healer for all goblins living in Great Britain or any of its many islands. Radon Runeweaver was the Head Curse Breaker for not only Britain but Europe as well.

Grimlock handed Harry a set of parchments, “This is a list of health concerns both physical and magical. The Rejuvenation Chamber will take care of your physical issues. Magical issues will need to be addressed separately. Healer Bloodspeaker and Curse Breaker Runeweaver will discuss the magical issues with you this afternoon. Once we have determined the best way to proceed, we will schedule any rituals or healing sessions as well as your use of the Chamber.

Harry nodded. He figured he should just get used to feeling overwhelmed.

Over the next week, Harry spent time everyday at Gringotts. He was either in the Healing Halls, one of the many ritual chambers or in Grimlock's office learning about Black Holdings.

Harry experienced three rituals. The first was short and easy. It removed negative magical energy. Being bitten by a basilisk, even if the venom was countered by Phoenix tears left echoes of the poison in Harry's system. Exposure to the cruciatus and being cut by Pettigrew's knife had left residue. Voldemort's attempt at possession had also left a stain. These were all removed by the ritual leaving Harry feeling lighter.

The second ritual was also short but was in no way easy. Sections of Harry's magic had been bound. The Goblins were able to identify that it had happened while Harry was quite young and it was unlikely that it had been done by his parents. At the end of this ritual, there was a definite change. Harry Potter no longer looked like a near replica of James Potter with Lily's eyes. Now anyone that knew them would see a blending of James, Lily and Sirius. Gone were the short, unruly locks of thick black hair. It was now a finer, longer dark brown with hints of auburn. Bright green eyes were replaced with dark brown. His lips were fuller, his cheekbones sharper, his face a bit longer and his brows finer with a high forehead.

Harry was near catatonic for almost an hour when he saw himself in the mirror. He didn't object to the way he looked. In fact, he quite liked it. It was the explanation that accompanied the look that left him stunned and speechless. One of the unbound sections of his magic contained a Black family legacy: metamorphic magic. Young metamorphs frequently copied their parents' looks. Harry's magic had been bound in an imitated form. If it wasn't for the still prominent lightning scar and well-known glasses, Harry could walk outside and would never be recognized.

There had been a lot of debate following the second ritual about whether Harry would return to Castle Black for the night or stay in the Healing Halls. An intense discussion between Bloodspeaker, Dobby and Sorrel resulted in Harry's return to Castle Black with promises made that he would go to Gringotts immediately if anything felt even the slightest bit off.

Harry was relieved to return to the castle. Even after only a few days, it felt more like home than any place he had ever lived. After the shock of his changed appearance, it was a comfort he sorely needed. Unfortunately, the comfort only lasted until the next morning. When Harry woke, he definitely felt strange. His vision was freakishly sharp while at the same time totally devoid of color. His hearing was even more acute. He felt like he could hear every sound in the castle. When he went to move, Harry's confusion increased.

Suddenly Dobby was there on the bed beside him, “It be okay Harry Potter. Dobby take you straight to Grimlock.”

Grimlock had just arrived in his office when Dobby and a clearly panicked tiger popped into his office. The animal was beautiful. It was a rare black tiger, dark striped with faint orange across its shoulders.

“I think we can safely guess another part of Mr Potter's magic that was unbound yesterday,” Grimlock said. Grimlock calmly walked over to the tiger and sat down in front of it. “Mr Potter, Sirius Black told me that he had memories of you turning into animals as a baby but with everything that happened in Azkaban he couldn't be sure if it was a true memory. I think we can safely say now that it was. From what he remembered, on several occasions you woke up as different types of cats. He remembered a house cat, a lion and some sort of small forest cat that they weren't able to identify. Every time, you eventually reverted back to being a boy with no additional assistance. If you can remain calm, we'll wait a while and see what happens. If you haven't turned back into your human self by lunch time, I'll find someone to help you. I promise, if that becomes necessary, whomever we call will be required to take a vow of secrecy.”

To Grimlock's relief, the tiger nodded.

Over the course of the next several hours, Bloodspeaker and Runeweaver spent time with Harry the Tiger. Their calmness helped to keep Harry calm but he could not manage to resume his human form. Shortly after noon, Grimlock reminded Harry that the next visitor would take a secrecy vow. A short while later, Minerva McGonagall walked into the room.

“Thank you for coming, Professor McGonagall,” Grimlock said. “As I mentioned in my letter to you, we have need of your skills with an animagus reversal but we also require a vow of secrecy.”

McGonagall agreed. What mattered to her was that another person needed her help. After taking the vow, McGonagall walked over to the tiger, “I'm going to start by changing into my cat form. After you've become acquainted with me in that form, I will change back. I'll do this a few times. Sometimes just seeing the transformation is enough to help someone change back. Is that acceptable?"

The tiger nodded. Suddenly there was a cat standing in front of the tiger. Harry clearly remembered seeing the cat during his first transfiguration lesson and his amazement when it became his professor. The cat walked around the tiger and then stood still while the tiger walked around the cat. After the tiger had sat back down, the cat flowed into her human form.

“Until you've actually transformed, it's hard to understand that you are both a human and an animal. It almost doesn't matter what form you're in, you are still you. There are tales that if you stay too long in your animal form you lose your human mind and your ability to change back. That's nonsense." McGonagall’s usual brisk manner was reassuring to Harry as she continued, “Your mind, your self, your magic, they are all you no matter what form you take. I'm going to switch back and forth a few more times and then, if necessary, I'll talk you through the change.”

McGonagall changed from human to cat, repeating the process several times, “I'm going to sit down here and talk with Grimlock and give you a chance to change."

Harry had felt a difference between Professor McGonagall and Cat McGonagall. He breathed in and out a few times and relaxed and let himself become human again. Thankfully, he at least had his pajamas on. Harry walked over to the second chair in front of Grimlock's desk and sat down before turning and looking directly at Professor McGonagall.

Professor McGonagall looked at the young man in front of her. While he didn't look like anyone she knew, the familiar scar was undeniable. Finally she spoke, “I am still under a vow of secrecy if you care to tell me what happened.”

Harry wasn't sure what to say. Finally he looked at Grimlock, “Can you tell her about yesterday's ritual?"

Grimlock nodded, " After an examination in our Healing Halls, it was discovered that Mr Potter had some of his magic bound. Following the ritual his appearance was changed. Apparently, Mr Potter is not only an animagus but also a metamorph and had copied James and Lily Potter and it was in that form that his metamorph magic was bound. According to his elf, Mr Potter woke up in his animagus form. That was, apparently, another section of magic that had been bound.”

“I see,” McGonagall responded, drawing her own conclusions. “Although I have never seen it, I have heard that people with both metamorphic and animagic abilities can often take more than one form. The only restriction seems to be that the forms are in the same general animal family. If you would like to attempt to find other forms, I would be more than happy to work with you confidentially. I understand completely why you don't want anyone to know about this.”

“Thank you, Professor,” Harry said. “I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed by everything right now but I think I would like to take you up on that offer after everything has settled a bit.”

“I would suggest while I am still here that you try changing back and forth a few times to get comfortable with it,” McGonagall said. “I would also suggest that for a while you only change when you have an elf or another person with you.”

After the professor left, Harry returned to the Healing Halls where it was decided that if he woke up human the next morning, they would proceed with the third ritual. This was the most important and horrifying ritual of all. The health examination had revealed the presence of an incomplete horcrux.

A horcrux was the result of a ritual attempting to guarantee immortality. It didn't actually work, as evidenced by the fact that there were no immortal beings but witches and wizards still tried. Even when they succeeded in making a horcrux, or sometimes more than one, it did not actually extend their lifespan. It might prevent a premature death but it wouldn't hold it off forever. Apparently the incomplete horcrux had happened when Voldemort had attempted to kill baby Harry. The lack of success meant that there were most likely other pieces of Voldemort's soul somewhere. Harry was starting to believe that goblins had a ritual for just about everything and they did indeed have a ritual for finding horcruxes.

Fortunately for Harry, an incomplete horcrux was a lot easier to remove than if it had been the result of a successful ritual. Of course, easier did not mean easy. It took twenty-one goblins and three hours to remove the sliver of Voldemort's soul. Even without being fully integrated into Harry's magic, the horcrux still did not want to leave. Eventually, Goblin magic and Harry's stubbornness prevailed. He did not want anything more to do with Voldemort and he was as determined to have it gone as the Goblins were to remove it.

Tony DiNozzo was surprised that the young man he met looked nothing like Sirius Black's memories. The only familiar feature was the glasses. The face and hair were quite different and the prominent scar was now significantly smaller. After a lengthy conversation, additional plans were made. Based on the healing Harry had already undergone, both Grimlock and Tony suspected that Harry would be in the Rejuvenation Chamber for a bit longer than the typical three days. Because of Wizarding law, the will of Sirius Black would need to be read soon. Since Harry had already learned of his inheritance, he did not need to be present at the general reading. Even if Harry was out of the Rejuvenation Chamber, it was agreed that Harry's life would be easier if he did not attend. However, Harry was curious how everyone would react to the will. With Grimlock's agreement, Tony would attend the reading of the will under Harry's invisibility cloak and then provide a memory of the event that Harry could watch from a pensieve.

Finally it was time. Wearing only a thin linen robe, Harry climbed three steps and stepped into the Goblin Rejuvenation Chamber. Laying down he looked up to see Tony's smiling face.

What information Sirius didn't provide about the Goblin Rejuvenation Chamber or GRC, Harry learned from Grimlock. Originating in Egypt, the Goblins found four GRCs. The discovery had been made about 400 years ago. It took nearly three decades for the Goblins to interpret the writings about what the GRC even did and then another couple of decades to figure out how to power them. Whatever power source had originally been used was depleted and the Goblins did not recognize it. Eventually, the Goblins figured out how to charge crystals with magic and link them together to power a Chamber. It took forty-nine linked crystals to power one Chamber. It didn't matter how long the Chamber was active whether it was one day or twenty. Once powered down it took another full set of forty-nine crystals to start again. The crystals themselves were quite expensive to make but the real expense came in the length of time and the amount of magic necessary to fill the crystals. The four Chambers were located across the world with one in London, Chicago, Tokyo and Bangladesh. Occasionally a Chamber was moved as population centers shifted. The Chicago Chamber had been originally located in Madrid. With expansion into the new world, it had first moved to New York and eventually to Chicago where it had remained for the last 120 years. The London Chamber was the only one still at its original placement.

While not a secret, the availability of the Chamber was not well known. This was primarily because of the cost. Very few could afford to use it even once in a lifetime. At G500,000 per use, only the extremely wealthy could afford it. The Potters were a very prosperous family and it was still far out of their means. Even for families that could afford it, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience usually reserved for the head of the family. Among those who could afford it, few took advantage. In the Malfoy family, it was tradition for the patriarch to use the chamber just after his 50th birthday. The Black family, on the other hand, rarely had made use of the chamber. They could certainly afford it but it was seen as a misuse of assets and a vanity expense.

The Goblins did not claim to understand how the Chamber worked, only that it did. The Chamber literally rewrote your body. It restored your body to what it would have been if it had never experienced illness, injury or misuse. The only limitation on the chamber's use was its size. It could accommodate a human, elf or Goblin but not a giant and certainly not a centaur. It was said that not even death was beyond the Chambers capability but there had never been a recorded use of it in that fashion.

Sirius had considered using the Chamber to restore his body but had not come to a decision. However, there was no question that he would spend the money for Harry's sake. In one of his last acts, Sirius had contracted for use of the Chamber for Harry James Potter. Even if Harry chose not to use it immediately, it was there. It only needed to be scheduled.

For Harry, there was no question. Sirius had already spent the money so that wasn't an issue. Harry knew that a childhood with the Dursleys had left a mark. He was the shortest in his class. He was always the skinniest. Then there were the bones that had been broken over and over. This would even correct his eyesight.

“Remember, kiddo, you'll be asleep before the lid is even fully closed, Tony reassured the clearly nervous young man. "The Goblins will notify me as soon as the Chamber starts to power down and I'll be here when you awaken. Whatever comes next, I'll be here.”

It had only been a few days but already Harry was comfortable with Tony and was reassured by his presence. Slowly the lid descended.

Five days later, nine individuals gathered in a Gringotts conference room around a large oval table.

Grimlock walked in, carrying a sheaf of parchment, “This is the public reading of the last will and testament of Sirius Black, dated November 13, 1995. I would ask that you withhold comments or questions until the reading is complete. After, you will be provided with a document outlining any bequests you are due.”

I, Sirius Orion Black, III, being a sound mind (please see attached to healers report as evidence) bequeath all my worldly possessions as follows:

To Remus John Lupin, Friend, Brother and Fellow Marauder, I leave the deed to the Black Hunting Lodge and G500,000. In addition, I have contracted Gringotts Bank for a monthly supply of Wolfsbane to be paid for from the main Black vault for as long as you live. You only have to come in once a month to pick it up. You have always dreamt of a quiet life, sitting by a fire and writing. May you find happiness in that endeavor.

To my cousin, Andromeda Black Tonks, I leave the sum of G100,000 and your original dowry vault. I cannot undo the injustice our family did to you but I can give you the means to have a little bit of fun.

To my cousin, Nymphadora Eleanor Tonks, I leave the sum of G50,000. It has been a joy to know you.

To my cousin, Narcissa Black Malfoy, I leave the sum of G50,000 and lifetime use of the Paris Townhouse. If you ever decide to stand on your own, Grimlock has a vault key that will further assist you.

To my cousin, Draco Lucius Malfoy, I leave an opportunity. Please see Grimlock privately for more information. I debated long and hard about this but all of us have the capacity to be incredibly stupid when we are young. We also have the capacity to be better.

To Hermione Jean Granger and Ronald Bilius Weasley, I leave the sum of G2000 each for your timely assistance. I have enjoyed the time I spent with you.

To William Arthur Weasley, I leave lifetime use of the London townhouse. With the reading of this will, a contract with Gringotts Bank will commence to see it cleansed, cleaned and appropriately furnished. It is for your personal use and hosting any individuals or organizations you wish.

To Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, I name you traitor and enemy. You betrayed all of us, James, Lily and myself, but most especially, our son, Harry. May there be no plane of existence where you find peace.

To my cousin, Bellatrix Black LeStrange, I leave my contempt. You pervert and misrepresent the Black legacy and deserve no profit for your choices.

All remaining assets including but not limited to vaults and their contents, bank accounts, Black Holdings and all real property not otherwise bequeathed, I leave to my son and heir, Harry James Potter Black. I wish to also publicly confirm and support his emancipation that was achieved through participation in the Triwizard tournament.

Hermione was the first to speak, “Does Harry know about this?"

"Any communication between Gringotts and a client is strictly confidential,” Grimlock answered.

"No need to worry about it, my dear,” Dumbledore said, genially. "I will make sure Harry knows about his inheritance.”

Bill Weasley snorted but said nothing.

Grimlock stood and began to pass out parchments, “Please see a teller to make any appointments necessary to claim your bequests.”

Bill stood and motioned to Ron and Hermione, “Let's get this taken care of. Mom will be worried." The two teenagers followed Bill, whispering furiously.

When the room was empty, Tony removed the invisibility cloak. He had a feeling that Harry would enjoy the show.

Three days later, the lid rose on the Goblin Rejuvenation Chamber.
