Chapter Text
1x marched, the sound echoing in the cloudy expanse like a beat to a song they once knew. Today, they decided, would be the day that they killed their creator once and for all. Broken whispers filled the silence, hands clutching a weapon that wasn't theirs.
"K i l l h i m . " The voices screamed at them and 1x's body obeyed, no longer their own but just a vessel for their orders.
Before this, 1x swore they had a life. Happy, filled with glee. Everything quickly changed the moment they fell into enemy hands. They did not care for their well-being, far from it. The only thing those hackers cared about was sewing more chaos across the world.
Defiling the body.
Infecting the mind.
Breaking the will.
Until there was nothing left of them to take.
1x spent years waiting for a helping hand that never came. It snapped inside of them one day, the admins have betrayed them, abandoned them. And while they stared blankly at the familiar place around them, nothing stirred in their empty heart.
Not even rage.
"1x..? Is that you?" Shedletsky spotted them first, shock colouring his face. Still, 1x felt nothing but the mindless order to end this man's life. "1x..?"
They stared ahead, almost past him instead of at him. Their hand instinctively tightened on the spear, sword held close on their hip.
He pressed closer when no answers were given. "..Where have you been?"
1x exhaled a breath, suddenly aware of the tension between the two of them. Silence finally engulfed their mind, freeing them from its constant noise. For one moment, the only thing they could think was...
How much they despised him.
The next beat of stillness from Shedletsky and they lunged, using the longer reach to their advantage. Blood spurted from his chest, blade plunging into flesh. When they moved in to finish the job with their sword, Shedletsky parried with his own weapon.
His expression grew strained as 1x put their weight into the next few swings, all aiming for his weak spots. They thought he would switch tactics, try to deal the same blows to them when they were on the offense.
But instead, Shedletsky hesitated. The greatest swordsman in all of Robloxia was afraid to hurt them.
"1x.. Don't do this. Think about what you're doing!" His voice rang in their ears. Something inside of them wanted to stop, wanted to fall into his embrace and cry out.
Like a child seeking comfort from their parent.
The thought barely passed when the next arc of their sword struck true, body acting accordingly. Shedletsky collapsed to his knees akin to a puppet's strings being cut, crimson gurgling from his mouth. It barely drew a reaction from 1x, their eyes tracing the wound on his midsection.
Not enough-
They startled when Shedletsky started to chuckle, being interrupted by erratic chokes and coughs. "...I'm sorry. Haha.. I should've- I should've-"
1x pulled their sword out and started stabbing.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
They felt numb.
So, why?
Why were
these tears
flowing?
"Hey, 1x! Get back here!" They stuck out their tongue to Shedletsky, giggling when his face twisted in exasperation. "Oh, I'm gonna get you, you little..."
Small legs didn't have the reach to make it far and 1x undoubtedly got captured rather easily, being scooped up into his arms. They laughed, kicking and squirming around before finally settling. It was late at night and way past 1x's bedtime so they were sure they were going to get punished.
"Since you're awake..." His wings softly cradled them, a protective gesture from the cold. "I wanna show you something."
Before they knew it, 1x was being carried over to the window. The clear night sky greeted them, moon shining down brightly through the glass.
But what caught their eye the most was a few stray streaks in the darkness, shooting stars.
"You're lucky, It's clear today." A finger tapped 1x's nose.
"Can I...?" Their dad tilted his head ever so slightly, a smile on his face. "Should I wish for something?"
He gave them an encouraging nudge. For a moment, the child only stared at the stars, almost longingly. They were so far away... 1x wasn't sure if their wish was going to be fulfilled. But they have to try.
Quietly, 1x clasped their hands together, muttering their wish into the wind.
"I want to be a better swordsman than dad one day. So, I can finally beat him in a fight...! Please work..."
