Chapter Text
We were called Gods with the power we held, the townspeople would worship us. Human civilization has known of us since the birth of the first. We were the first, nothing came before us. Time has held us in its grasp even before the extinction of the dinosaurs. We should be protected, worshipped, and honored; not killed or hunted down with torches and pitchforks.
The sphinx was one of the first of us. Unicorns, dragons, and merfolk are some of the most well known in modern day. Many have been forgotten, or gone extinct due to hunting. Few have survived by fighting and giving up every freedom that they possessed.
Slowly, but all too quickly, we have been forgotten. No more hunting, no more “witch” trials, and no more freedom. We can no longer go out in public in our natural state, or history will repeat itself. We hope for a day we will live in harmony and not be in hiding nor being hunted.
I am a descendant of Gaia, but we were all born from the stars. The creatures that are talked about in stories told around the fire are very much real, I would know because I am one of them. I’m going to make sure that the humans understand we are not to be killed but respected instead. I am going to make this world better for the children of the stars.
