Work Text:
The cave mouth yawned wide before the party. They squinted at the darkness, perceiving no movement within its depths. There were rumors of a cave in these mountains where hollow screams could be heard, though no people were reported dead or missing from the surrounding area. Oberon drew his sword and muttered the command word to cause the blade to glimmer with holy light. He held it up and began forward, beckoning his comrades to follow.
The light of his sword emanated out, brightening a wide circle in the gloom around the group. He continued on as quietly as he could manage and knew the others were doing the same. The cave descended at a low angle, the floor sloping down as they left the more well lit entrance. They passed deeper into the dark and were disturbed to find that nothing was present in the cave; there were no bones, no discarded equipment, no signs of life whatsoever. The only living thing seemed to be the soft moss growing on the cave walls due to the cool dampness.
After what seemed to be hours of descent following the cave further down, the echo of their footsteps grew louder. Oberon paused, holding a hand behind him to stay the rest of the party.
“What is it?” Kaun sidled up next to Oberon, speaking quietly near his shoulder.
Oberon tilted his head to listen and lifted his sword above his head in an attempt to shed light as far as possible. The closeness of the cave walls had left, expanding into an open chamber. The light surrounding Oberon scarcely reached any wall other than the tunnel entrance behind them. “It seems we’ve reached the bottom,” he replied in a low voice. “Everyone stay close. We don’t know what lives here, if anything, and I’d rather not spend the diamonds to bring anyone back to life today.”
The five of them crowded closer together. Miki sniffed the air and shrugged. “I don’t smell anything,” she said, louder than Oberon would have cared for.
He winced at her voice and turned to face her. “We still must proceed with caution. There are spells to lessen your senses, even with as powerful a nose as yours,” he pointed out.
Kaun placed a hand gently on Oberon’s shoulder and pointed off in the distance. “I think I see something glimmering that way.”
Oberon turned to follow Kaun’s outstretched finger and squinted against the blackness of the cave chamber. His light didn’t quite reach that far and he didn’t have the capability to see through the darkness without magical aid. He slowly stepped forward in the direction Kaun had indicated, the monk following close at his side.
Their footsteps continued to echo around the cave as they approached the far wall. The wall appeared to be made of pure obsidian, polished to such a sheen that it shone like a smoky mirror. Oberon stepped close and peered at his dim reflection. His glowing sword cast strange shadows across his face, making him appear gaunt and hollowed out. Perturbed, he stepped back. Kaun took his place and tilted his head at his own reflection. He stayed for only a moment before turning back to face the group. “This must have been some sort of ritual chamber,” Kaun proffered.
Oberon nodded in agreement. “I concur. Though, I confess, I know not what this would be used for. There may be an altar or alcove with more implements, if this is indeed some sort of ritual site.” He turned to begin walking along the wall in search of some sort of clue as to the dark mirror’s purpose. As he moved forward, a flicker of the light brought him to a pause. He glanced towards the reflection in the corner of his eye and let out a strangled yelp at the sight.
His mirror image was looking straight out of the wall at him. Oberon remained turned, his shoulder perpendicular to the obsidian. His reflection cocked its head with a smirk. Before he could react further, the light surrounding his sword flickered out. He cursed and attempted to bring it back, hands shaking as he reignited the spell. He turned back towards the wall and gasped. All the reflections had disappeared. He looked to the side to confirm with Kaun that he was seeing the same thing, but found himself alone in the cave.
“Kaun? Hello?” Oberon stage whispered, not wanting to disturb anything further. He waited for a moment and received no response. He whipped his head back to the obsidian just as his reflection returned, striding forward with sword held high. It brought the sword down, the mirror splintering before it shattered. Oberon’s sword once more lost its light and he felt himself falling, falling, falling.

Oberon’s eyes fluttered open and he feared he was dead. He was lying on the floor in an endlessly dark space with nothing but his own breathing to keep him company. Panic began to swell in his chest as he sat up. He was overwhelmed by a sense of vertigo, not knowing which direction was which. Oberon dropped his head between his knees and forced himself to breathe slowly. He closed his eyes and tried to center himself.
As he attempted to keep himself calm, Oberon’s head jerked up at the sound of footsteps. His breath quickened again as a dim grey light approached him. He first saw the figure’s boots, then trousers, then the rest of their clothing as they stood over him. He cried out and shuffled back from the figure, scraping his palms on the rocky floor. It was himself, though completely devoid of color. There was something else that Oberon couldn’t place; another reason why this thing felt wrong .
The shadow Oberon crouched before him and reached forward to grab Oberon’s chin tightly. He forced Oberon’s head to turn both ways as he observed. “It’s never quite right,” the shadow muttered to himself. The voice sent a chill down Oberon’s spine. It sounded like him, yes, but there was a rasp, a grating quality that he knew never came from his lips. It sounded as if he had been mute for eons and was finally learning to speak again.
The shadow released Oberon’s chin and stood up fully. “Get up,” he demanded. When Oberon did not move right away, the shadow kicked his legs hard. “Get. Up.”
Oberon pushed himself up, wincing as a small pebble stuck in his hand. He stood warily in front of his shadow self, trying to pick apart every movement that he made. The shadow crossed his arms and tutted. “Come now, do you think I want to hurt you?”
Oberon scoffed. “I don’t know what you want. Why am I here?”
Shadow Oberon shrugged and gestured around the empty cavern. “You disturbed my slumber. You brought light ,” he snarled the word, “Into my home.”
“We didn’t know it was anyone’s home. We were merely investigating a local rumor–”
“Pah! The locals know what my home is. They know what they must do.”
Oberon considered the shadow’s words and slowly realized what it meant. “Are you saying… We were being sacrificed? To you? To what , exactly?”
The shadow laughed, a harsh sound that made Oberon think of gravel grinding against itself. “Unfortunately for you, yes. Worry not about the details. Besides, you seem… Fun. Shall we play first?”
Oberon looked warily at his shadow. He didn’t know what playing meant to whatever this thing was, but he doubted he would like it. The shadow held his arms wide and a sword and shield appeared in his hands, a matching set to Oberon’s own. Oberon quickly drew his own weaponry and settled into his fighting stance.
As he prepared to do battle with his shadow, Oberon realized what he had found disconcerting about the creature. It looked like a colorless version of himself, but it was also a full mirror image. It held the sword in its left hand and shield on the right, in opposition to Oberon’s righthandedness. He paused in confusion, the hesitation nearly costing him his head as the shadow leapt forward, swinging its sword at Oberon’s neck.
He parried at the final moment, a shower of sparks singing his cheek. Oberon ground his teeth as he shoved forward and shouted, pushing his shadow back with the bulk of his shield. The shadow merely laughed before lunging forward again.
The shadow Oberon fought relentlessly and tirelessly, swinging its blade again and again. Oberon could scarcely get in a retaliatory strike, his energy devoted to parrying and defending himself. He tired quickly under the hail of blows despite his shadow showing no signs of exhaustion. Oberon’s arms grew heavy from the weight of his sword and shield. The shadow stepped forward once more, hooking the blade of his sword around Oberon’s and disarming him easily.
Oberon stumbled back to avoid being immediately impaled and his shadow closed the gap, slamming him in the chest with his shield and knocking him to the ground. The breath was knocked from Oberon’s lungs as he fell hard against the stone floor. His shadow stepped closer, pressing his boot against his chest and the tip of his sword to Oberon’s throat.
Oberon looked up at his shadow in fear, mind racing as he sent out silent prayers to Lathander and whatever gods would listen. His shadow barked out another gravelly laugh and grinned down at Oberon, his teeth sharp and jagged like a shark’s jaw full of obsidian.

As if through a smoky pane of glass, Kaun watched in horror as Oberon rapidly lost ground against a greyed-out mirror version of himself. Oberon was knocked to the floor and had a sword pointed directly at his throat. A scratchy voice laughed in Kaun’s ear, the noise followed by a spine-chilling sensation as a wet tongue licked up behind his ear.
Kaun himself had suffered a similar defeat at his own hands. It disturbed him deeply that his mirror image was simply his changeling form, with little difference in coloration. It had moved with lightning speed, stunning and disarming him with ease. Now, the shadow Kaun held him in a headlock, taunting him as they watched Oberon lose the fight to his shadow self. Kaun’s shadow had also made a point to hold its hips flush to his, grinding a growing imitation of his crotch against Kaun’s ass.
Kaun struggled, hoping to break free and burst through to wherever Oberon was and save him from his imminent death. However, his shadow had struck too hard and efficiently and he still felt his muscles ignoring him in favor of remaining stunned.
“Watch,” his shadow hissed in his ear. It pressed flush against him again and dragged sharp teeth over his shoulder. “The fun is just beginning, lover boy.”
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As quick as he had been knocked down and nearly decapitated by his shadow, the sword was swiftly pulled back from his throat and Oberon let out his held breath. He could feel a trickle of blood running down his neck from where the swordpoint had pierced his skin. His shadow kept him pinned to the floor with his boot and continued to leer down at him. “Too easy,” it mocked. “That was no fun at all!”
Oberon glared up at the grey face above him and attempted to push the boot off. “Then let me up and we can finish this,” he growled through gritted teeth. His shadow laughed and shook his head.
“No, I think not. I have rules, you know. You lost the duel and now you must pay the price.” Shadow Oberon tilted his head and looked at him almost fondly. “This shall be enjoyable, I think. Quite the striking figure, you are.”
Faster than he could keep track of, the shadow had removed his boot and kicked Oberon in the side. He grasped his side and coughed at the shock. The shadow took advantage of the distraction and rolled Oberon onto his stomach. A strong hand pushed his face into the stony floor and he struggled for a full breath as the pain in his ribs throbbed. “Almost perfect,” his shadow hissed.
Oberon struggled again as he felt a second hand tugging at his trousers. They held fast and the shadow let out a heavy sigh. “Alas, such a waste,” he lamented as he ripped the fabric with brutally strong force. Oberon felt the weight of a body press against his back and warm breath teased over the shell of his ear. “But you’ll be good for me, won’t you?” Oberon whimpered and tried once more to wriggle away but couldn’t manage it with his own weight effectively doubled.
Shadow Oberon reached down to loose his own trousers and Oberon felt its jagged teeth drag over his neck. He felt the hips on top of him lift slightly, then suddenly snap forward. He screamed as his shadow fully thrust his cock inside of him, grinding their hips together. Oberon’s breath quickened as his mind filled with the pain of being stretched out so suddenly and then his shadow began to move.
It started slowly, dragging its cock in and out of Oberon’s ass. One hand still pressed against the back of his neck to hold him down, while the other gripped his hip tight and held him in place. Oberon whined as a simulacrum of his own length continued to fuck him. Shadow Oberon teased the head of his cock just inside Oberon when he pulled back, before snapping his hips forward again and burying himself in Oberon’s ass. “How does it feel, boy? Having your own cock inside your ass?” the shadow teased, breathing heavily next to his ear. “You love this, don’t you?”
Oberon whimpered and remained as still as he could, letting his shadow continue to split him apart. He felt a tear trickle down the side of his nose as his ass bounced back against his own hips. The shadow laughed low in his ear as it kept up its brutal pace, its seemingly endless energy from their fight still remaining.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the other side of the smoky glass, Kaun’s shadow had slid a hand down his front and began to palm Kaun’s length through his breeches. Against his best efforts, he grew hard at the sensation and gritted his teeth as his shadow laughed against his neck. “Naughty, naughty,” it chided, continuing to drag its tongue over his ear. Kaun’s lips drew tight at the feeling and he did his best to refrain from any sort of noises.
“You like the view, don’t you?” his shadow teased. “Watching your boyfriend get fucked by himself…” It squeezed his cock through his breeches and Kaun’s knees nearly buckled. “Oh?”
Shadow Kaun unwrapped his arm from around Kaun’s neck and slid around in front of him. It walked its fingers down Kaun’s chest and rested the tips at his waistband. Kaun’s jaw clenched and he felt a muscle near his temple twitch as his shadow self leaned in to try and kiss him. Kaun refused to move his lips and his shadow pulled back. “You’re no fun at all,” it pouted. “Surely I can change your mind.”
His shadow dropped to its knees and in the same motion, tugged Kaun’s trousers down to his ankles with a flourish. The cool air of the cave made his exposed cock twitch and his shadow grinned in delight. “Ah, there it is!” It looked up at him as it leaned in to lick a stripe along his shaft. Kaun’s legs shuddered at the contact and he pointedly looked up into the dark.
The shadow wrapped its fingers around his cock and slowly pumped it, tongue teasing the head. When Kaun still refused to look at him, the shadow gripped his shaft tight and pulled down, forcing Kaun’s hips to jerk forward. He glared down and bit back a gasp when he saw the shadow had changed form.
On his knees in front of him, Kaun now saw Oberon, looking as radiant as if he had been basking in the sun all day. His lips wrapped around Kaun’s cock and he held back a moan. The shadow hummed around his length and pulled back for a moment to return Kaun’s gaze. “Is this better?” he said, still using the raspy version of Kaun’s voice. “Can’t bear to look at yourself so you need your whore boyfriend instead?”
A cold knot formed in Kaun’s stomach at the statement. He didn’t want to consider the shadow’s implications, not here or now. Shadow Kaun/Oberon shrugged and returned to the task at hand, parting Oberon’s lips and taking Kaun’s length fully in his mouth.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oberon lay motionless as his shadow mercilessly fucked into him. He had given up any semblance of a fight, figuring this would be over soon enough. His shadow grunted as it watched his ass bounce with each thrust of its hips. “Your boyfriend is lucky,” Shadow Oberon growled as it bottomed out again, holding his cock fully inside. “Did you know he’s watching?”
Oberon’s focus returned sharply and he jerked underneath his shadow. “N-no,” he whimpered.
“Yes,” his shadow purred. A glimmer to his left appeared and Oberon saw Kaun standing abnormally still as a figure knelt before him. His eyes focused on the figure and he saw yet another version of himself and whined. The Shadow Oberon laughed deeply and thrust his hips forward harder. “Look at you. Such a dirty whore, taking cock from both ends. You want him here, don’t you? Fucking your perfect ass. Cumming down your warm throat.”
“We’re not–” Oberon began, gasping as he took the full length of his own cock again. “Don’t,” he begged. “Please leave him alone.”
“Not a chance,” responded his shadow. It snapped its hips forward again and grunted louder. “I’ll fill you up instead and then you can watch your boyfriend finish. I think you’ll both be mine now. A matching. Set.” It punctuated the final words each with a thrust of its hips, then leaned down and sunk its jagged teeth into the crook of Oberon’s shoulders as its cock throbbed inside his ass and filled him with its orgasm.
Oberon screamed at the pain and squeezed his eyes shut, not wanting to know that Kaun could see him like this.
—-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kaun watched as Oberon’s shadow self bit down on his neck and slammed inside his ass once more. The Shadow Kaun/Oberon in front of him looked up as it tugged gently on his balls, deftly sliding his cock in and out of its mouth. Kaun felt his knees go weak as he hit his climax, shooting down the shadow’s throat. His shadow slowly pulled back, letting Kaun’s cock slap against its tongue. “Was that so bad?” it purred. “You’re just as bad as him. Two whores, a perfect match.”
“I will kill you,” Kaun whispered harshly. “I will.”
“We’d like to see you try,” his shadow responded mockingly, a double tone of Kaun and Oberon’s distorted voices. “But for now, you’re mine .”
