She had been off. Of course she had, you don’t get away with staging a one person coup against a group of gods and be fine after. All of her powers were fucked, and her emotions with them.
At least she still had Loki, but things were strange- stranger than normal. Just with her. They acted as they always had.
“Still no word from Quill?” They asked with a slightly whiny tone, pushing themselves onto the arm of her throne. She sighed and looked over.
“ No. Nothing new in the last… three hours.” They sighed in response.
“It’s been weeks!” They said, reaching over to comb through the wing on her head. “I’m bored- and you can’t tell me you’re not hungry!” She chooses not to correct them about what her feeding really is- if they hadn’t learned by now they won’t.
“It’s been
one
week- and I don’t contro-” She inhaled sharply when they ran their fingers through the feathers at the bottom of her wing. “Don’t
-hah-
control when we find people.”
They pulled their hand back, “Are you ok?”
No. Of course not.
She sighed.
“Yeah- just weird you know. Still figuring out everything that’s changed.” They clearly didn’t know what to do with their hands, considering they tended to use her as a sensory toy- she did the same thing to them really. “It’s all good.” She shrugged, going back to checking her communicator. They still saw the occasional thing saying that they didn’t deserve the throne or anything. She got more of the backlash because she was truly an outsider even though Loki was the main face of the whole thing- but it had been a lot less now after two years.
It was harder to focus with them carding through her feathers though. It had never been like this. Never- but now her wings were so much more sensitive. Her ears twitched in frustration even though the feeling was nice- probably frustration, she was still getting used to feeling emotions this strongly so it was hard to say.
She looked back over to Loki and that frustration nearly bubbled over, she wanted to bite them. It’s not like that was abnormal, she chewed on their arms all the time the same way they fidgeted with her wings but it wasn’t an absent-minded compulsion- she just wanted to
bite
them. Without thinking she tugged them off the armrest by their tie to sink her teeth into their neck.
It didn’t take her long to snap back when she tasted blood in her mouth- she never broke the skin when she chewed on them. She pushed herself back against the throne, hitting her chin on their horns pulling away from them.
“Fuck! I’m so sorry!” Their blood still lingered on her lips but she ignored the familiar metallic taste, reaching out to touch their neck where they now sat on her lap from having fallen. “I- I have no idea what that was. Are you ok?” They just stared at her for a moment before responding, pushing her hand away to cover the bite with their own.
“I’m fine.” They said, finally looking away from her. “Whatever the watchers did to you must have made you less tolerating of my annoyances.”
Yeah… It must have.
She nodded even though she didn’t agree. It wasn’t that, it wasn’t anger- she had never hurt them out of anger. The occasional playful slap or push was one thing but never in true anger. She never snapped at them- she
knew
what it was like when she snapped, this wasn’t that.
“Loki, look at me.” They took a second to turn to her. “What color are my eyes?” She asked, but they shook their head.
“Purple, no red.”
“Not even a little?” They shook their head again before tilting it slightly and squinting at her.
“No red. But they do seem… brighter? Their purple is more vibrant.” They continued to look into her eyes for a long few seconds before quickly looking away again, the bottoms of their horns becoming flushed as if they were blushing. They shifted how they sat so they were more- well sitting .
“Weird.” She said, looking away herself. Her eyes changed hue not saturation- another new… symptom? Was she diagnosing something?
They kept shifting in her lap like they couldn’t decide if they wanted to move or not. This was just getting weird at this point wasn’t it?
She was so distracted by what she had done that it took her a moment to realize exactly why they kept adjusting how they sat, they were hard. And trying to hide it from her at that.
She froze as her face heated up. That was only
after
she
bit them
, wasn’t it? Was it
because
she bit them?
“Oh uh-” They froze too before moving to stand up.
“I’m… sorry. I should-” She rested her hand on their hip before they could get up.
“You don’t- have to go.” She said hesitantly.
“Oh please.” They scoffed, still not looking at her. “I know you don’t partake in such primitive activities.”
“I-” She had said that hadn’t she? But what was that, five years ago when Loki had taken her to a pub and she had gotten a little too drunk on ale? They said she needed to ‘loosen up and get laid’ if she remembered correctly. “That was… before…” She hesitated, putting her other hand back to lightly hold their tie and quietly growled in frustration. “Look, I think it’s a thing the watchers did now that I’m
feeling
more I think…” She gripped their hip a little tighter and growled again. She didn’t know how to go about this and that annoyed her- she was supposed to be competent and know things! She shifted her approach.
“Did you like it when I bit you?” She asked quietly, voice dropping slightly. They whined quietly- so quiet she wasn’t sure she would have heard it if her hearing wasn't so strong- and nodded. She leaned in closer so her ear brushed their horn. “Do you want me to do it again?” She whispered deeply. Their breath hitched and their grip on her knee tightened. She backed up a little. “Look at me.” They did. “Do you?” she asked softly.
“I… Please.” They said quietly.
“Ok.” She pulled them closer by their tie again, further up onto her lap to straddle her thigh and slotting her face in between their neck and shoulder on the side she hadn’t bitten. She felt them shiver as she gently scraped her teeth along the side of their neck. Their usual dull citrus smell was stronger like this. She tugged their tie and bit down. Their hips jerked when her canines broke skin before stopping themselves but she gently moved her hand on their hip to encourage them. She pulled off the bite for a moment, “Go ahead, take what you need.” She said before licking the still bleeding bite.
After a moment they let themselves continue to grind on her thigh, their panting was soft but it became the only thing she could hear. She smiled against their skin as her own body lit up in response.
“Is that right?” She purred.
“Shut -hah- up.” She bit them gently again, tugging at their tie.
“If you want me to shut up, maybe you should do something about it.” She teased. They worked their hand behind her to pet down the feathers at the base of her wings. A shiver ran down her spine as she let out a breath, she kept her teeth just barely over their skin.
“Liz,” They breathed her name right in her ear, making it twitch with their breath. Their other hand slowly traced her thigh as their hips sped up. “Bite me, please.” They nearly pleaded, she clenched at the request- and how could she deny them that?
Their hips stuttered once she sunk her teeth in- “Fu- Fuck!” they cried out. She sat up from her curled stature to hold them to her chest, moving her hand from their tie to their back- their horns resting on her chest.
“You good?” She asked after a moment.
“Yes.” They said simply. She just held them for a while, it was nice- really nice, all of it but the sitting here felt different now, better.
