"Rumii! You've gotta come see what I got!" Zoey yelled, running in view of Rumi. Her hopping almost distracting Rumi from the glint of metal on her lower door.
Rumridge had been regaining her energy from the night before, since they had been chasing down the loose air fryers from when they had sealed the Coolmoon.
She was plugged into the wall outlet rather than their usual portable charging banks. But she quickly unplugged and replaced her battery pack with the portable one to meet with Zoeridge in the middle of their shared bedroom.
"What's up Zo?" Rumi said, her soft, silver coat blending with the warm pink of her blush.
Zoeridge just flicked her small door open and closed once, and that was enough information for Rumi to glance down at her even though they were still half a room apart.
There, on Zoey's small structure, layed a set of four magnets. Zoey's signature turtle magnet, slightly chipped from how many times she had worn it, and three new ones.
Three pairs of colored hearts scattered together on her. One pink, one purple, and one blue.
There was a distant thudding and rumbling of the floor, then followed by the sound of water running from inside their bathroom, but Rumi and Zoey kept talking, assuming it was Miridge.
Rumi and Zoey were door to door with each other now and Rumi could see all the little details on the hearts.
Specifically, the barely visible iridescent patterns on them.
"Zoey… are these—air fryer patterns?" Rumi said her voice cracking in the middle without meaning to.
"Yeah… I wanted to have a part of you with me, and plus, it fits you with the entire half defrost, air fryer side of you. Do you like it?" Zoey said her voice filled with hope and hesitation.
Condensation flooded the front of Rumi's door and she blurted out quickly before any droplets could fall, "I love it! It looks so good on you babe."
As Rumi said that, there was a click in the back of their bedroom.
Zoey shuffled her body to the side slightly, hiding the way the lights inside her had gotten so bright to the point that they were visible from the outside.
"Yeah… I love y—" Zoey's voice suddenly grew distant and her front door seemed to have parted from shock.
Confused, Rumi shifted her vision to where Zoey had been looking.
Then, she saw it.
Mira, diligently filling up a cup of water, without a care in the world.
Rumi's wiring faltered, her vision blurred, and the light inside of her flickered. A small dribble of water came out of her own dispenser.
Holy shit.
Mira then continued to pour her water down the drain, her back turned away from the two equally as flustered girls behind her.
"I—Mira. Did… did you just pee RIGHT here?" Zoey semi-yelped, coming out of her shock.
Rumi was just as shocked, if not a bit turned on, and also flustered, if her cooling and heating systems blending together was any indication.
Mira had finally turned around fully, looking at the two like she had just done something completely normal. "What? I thought you guys wouldn't mind, I mean… aren't we dating?"
Mira spoke like she hadn't just unplugged both Zoey and Rumi.
Not even the hours of rest Rumi had could have prepared her for Mira to have said that, but before she could explode herself Zoey interrupted, "Is that what you ment by 'getting comfortable around each other'?"
There was a pause in the air.
Mira—out of no where—suddenly broke out into fits of laughter, her silver doors ever so slightly opening and closing.
"I mean… I definitely know some other ways to get more comfortable with you guys," Mira strode over to settling infront of Zoey. And Rumi was still stuck in place, even more so now with what had just came out of Mira's mouth.
Zoey's white coat blended with her blush and made a weightless looking rosy color.
"Yeah… you can cool me down any day," Zoey's voice dropped to a whisper. That seemed to get Rumi rebooted as she shouted out, "Zo—Zoey, what?!"
"What?" Zoey exclaimed between her giggles, "It's just the truth!"
Rumi puffed out a breath, watching her girls double over with laughter, them almost tipping over in the process.
Before she could snap back, Rumi was lost in between their giggling and joining in.
Zoey took a breath to calm herself, then burst out with a little too much confidence, "Hey, I mean… I'd still let you guys freeze me up anyways if you two are down…"
Rumi sighed fondly one last time, "Zoey…" with almost no bite in her tone.
"I love you both," Mira murmured from beside them both, having finally caught her breath. She moved closer to Rumi first.
Their doors opened and locked in with each other's.
Then proceeded to do the same with Zoey with just as much passion. The three of them stood there in comfortable silence.
This was perfect.
