Work Text:

The sound of fabric rustled softly through the locker room. Katsuki didn’t mean to look but his eyes betrayed him.

Shoto stood in front of the mirror, sliding into his new World Hero Mission uniform, the sleeveless black-and-navy top clinging perfectly to his lean frame. His hair curled faintly at the nape of his neck, damp from the shower, and the sharp lines of his exposed shoulders glinted under the fluorescent lights.

Heat pooled low in Katsuki’s stomach.
Damn it.

He swallowed hard, fingers twitching at his sides. Every part of him screamed to cross the distance, to grab that stupidly beautiful face and sink his teeth into the skin at Shoto’s shoulder to “claim” him, hide him, lock him away from the world.

And then he saw it, Deku, standing a few feet away, staring.

Something inside Katsuki snapped.

“HEY! EYES FRONT, YOU DAMN NERD!” he barked, voice ricocheting off the lockers. “You don’t get to look at him like that!”

Deku squeaked, fumbling to cover his face with his hands, mumbling incoherently about “not meaning to…”

“Shoto! Put your damn jacket on already!” Katsuki growled, marching forward.

Shoto turned, half-dressed, his expression blank but his tone smooth as ever. “It’s… difficult to put on,” he said, calm and unbothered, his mismatched eyes blinking up at Katsuki.

Katsuki cursed under his breath and grabbed the jacket himself. “Tch. Idiot.” He pulled it roughly over Shoto’s shoulders, tugging the zipper up in one motion, the fabric swallowing the pale lines of his arms. Then, without thinking, he yanked the hood over Shoto’s head too, covering the last glimmer of skin.

Shoto tilted his head slightly, plush lips parting and eyes glinting just enough for Katsuki to see the faintest hint of amusement there.

Katsuki’s hand lingered, cupping Shoto’s jaw, his thumb brushing the corner of his mouth. The world seemed to hold its breath. His crimson eyes locked with Shoto’s stormy grey and bright blue ones, and everything around them blurred.

“Don’t look at me like that,” Katsuki muttered, though it came out rougher than he meant.

Shoto’s lashes lowered. His gaze flicked down slowly to Katsuki’s lips, then back up again. His voice was a whisper, soft and dangerous like liquid heat. “Like what?”

Katsuki didn’t have an answer. But he couldn’t help but lean in, close enough to feel Shoto’s breath on his skin.

And then,

“Uh…K-Kacchan?” Deku’s startled voice cut through the tension.

Katsuki jerked back, ready to yell again, but before he could, Shoto moved first, leaning forward and brushing his lips lightly against Katsuki’s jaw, soft as a sigh.

Katsuki froze.

By the time he blinked, Shoto was already walking past him, expression unreadable, leaving behind the faint scent of frost and fire in the air.

Both Katsuki and Deku stood there, red-faced and silent.

Katsuki scowled, rubbing the spot on his jaw where he could still feel the ghost of Shoto’s lips.

“Don’t say a word, Deku,” he growled.

Deku shook his head furiously. “Wasn’t gonna!”

Katsuki huffed, glaring at the door Shoto disappeared through, his heart pounding like an explosion waiting to go off.
