Chapter Text
This story starts like many others. Once upon a time there was a small village in the middle of nowhere.
But it doesn't continue like many other stories.
But I don't want to reveal too much, so let's begin.
Once upon a time there was a wee little town named Lokoh, that was located away from other towns. It's citizens were honest folk who got along well with one another. Lokoh was a devout city with their protectors being The Two Cows, Mansikki and Lemmikki. The Cows' blessing made the town quiet and boring.
Now you might think; 'what in the world?' or 'why cows, specifically?' or 'why quiet and boring?' or something else along the line. Well, let me tell you.
The most Interesting thing to ever happen in Lokoh happened centuries ago. It's also the Saga Of The Two Cows.
The Story goes like this:
One night a farmer was walking along a quiet road, when suddenly a bright light ignited over the neighboring field. The cows sleeping on the field woke up to the light and ran away from the odd apparition. The field was in chaos as cows ran around in panic, colliding into each other and tractor eggs*, wheat stalks and geese, that were sleeping on the field, and one unlucky chipmunk who had came to collect wheat grains for his food storage.
From the light emerged a glowing baby pink beam of light that hit the two cows that hadn't even flinched at the light and the following chaos. The baby pink light enveloped the cows and they started to slowly float towards the bright light.
The next day the farmer told the baffling happenings of last night to the other villagers. Many of them didn't believe the farmer and believed him to be lying or having seen a particularly vivid dream.
Days passed, and the villagers forgot the farmer's wild tales. Until on the fifth day, when the whole village was gathered in a meeting at the farmer's house something terrifying happened.
In the middle of the field, exactly where the farmer had told of seeing the apparition, ignited a blindingly bright baby blue light. After a few seconds the light faded and the villagers saw what was the source of the light.
The missing cows, Mansikki and Lemmikki.
They looked as unshakingly calm as ever. Mansikki looked around, lowered her head to the ground and started grazing. Lemmikki glanced at Mansikki and also started to graze.
Such is the Saga Of The Two Cows.
If you're wondering on what happened after the village of Lokoh saw the terrifying occurrence that was the return of Mansikki and Lemmikki, I can tell you that too.
At first there was silence. Complete silence. Then everyone started shrieking in unison.
Maybe their reactions were a little exaggerated, but its not every day you see cows coming out of thin air floating in the air surrounded by bright light.
Anyways.
Within the next few weeks the whole town of Lokoh started to notice weird things. Time seemed to move slower, and all rush seemed to have vanished.
The whole town seemed to have been draped in serenity and leisure.
And, even though the people of Lokoh didn't know it yet, it was all originated from Mansikki and Lemmikki.
You see if you take a cow to space, odd things happen to it. Cows don't belong to space. So they adapt to the situation. In Mansikki's and Lemmikki's situation it somehow led to their unwaveringly serene and unhurried presence sticking to everyone around them.
In any case, that's how things went. Even though today our Saga ends here, it doesn't mean that the story of the town of Lokoh and Mansikki and Lemmikki ends here, too, no.
No, Lokoh's wee little town and it's protectors, The Two Cows; Mansikki and Lemmikki, continued their quiet life for many years.
But those stories belong to another Saga.
We'll meet again later!
Best regards,
Narrator.
