"I don't know if I can drink this coffee. What if something happens to Harry?" Lily said looking at the cup in her hand.
"It's fine Lily, one cup of coffee won't do anything to you." James said while rocking Harry in his arms.
"I think i still have to ask my doctor." Lily dialed some numbers in her phone.
"Can't you just trust me? I'm saying it'll be fine!" James said in protest.
"Sssh! Im on the phone with Doctor Wiener!" Lily got up trying to find a quiet place to talk and James followed her. Marlene giggled at the name and Mary rolled her eyes at her.
Marlene and Mary were now left alone at the café. "It's so weird, seeing James and Lily with a baby. It just feel so grown up, you know." Mary said, looking after them.
"Yeah. I think we're all grown up." Marlene then thought of Lily's doctor's name and she chuckled. "Person named Wiener. God, that kills me." She said laughing.
"Look at you all grown up!" Mary said sarcastically and rolled her eyes at her childishness.
"Well, actually you know what? I think I'm ready for a serious relationship after all this. I'd like to meet a person that's mature and nice and I would spend the rest of my life together, you know?" Marlene sat next to Mary.
"Well, I actually might know somebody." Mary said while thinking. "Hey, how about you set me up with someone and we double-date?"
"Mary, that's a great idea! I can do that." Marlene said excitedly. She would finally find the woman of her dreams! Maybe...
"Okay, get ready for friday, then!" Mary grinned.

"Hey, Marls! You ready for our double date tonight?" Mary came in Marlene's apartment with a big smile.
Oh god. Marlene totally for got about the double date. Shit. "So...You found someone for me?" Marlene asked in embarrassment.
"Of course! You're gonna love Dorcas Meadowes. She's really smart and pretty and funny and-" Mary said smiling. "Well, tell me something about my guy! What's his name?"
Shit. Shit. Shit. Marlene had to make up something. "Uh... Peter."
"Yeah? What's his last name?"
"That's all you're getting from me! I want it to be a mystery!" Marlene said, hoping Mary couldn't tell her lie from her face.
"Oh, well alright. I'll see you and Peter at the restaurant in a couple of hours. Bye!" Mary waved at Marlene and left.
Fuck. Now Marlene had to find someone named Peter AND convince him to go on a blind date with her friend. Damn it.
«»
Marlene had a very stupid idea while entering the café. But who knows? It could work. Okay, let's do this.
"PETER!" She yelled, hoping someone named Peter would magically be in the café.
As if god answered her prayers, Marlene heard a voice from the table by the window side of the café."Yeah?"
Marlene immediately turned towards the sound and there he was! A Peter! Thank god for that. Marlene examined him, Peter had blonde hair and a innocent looking face. He was Mary's type. He'll do.
Marlene sat down at Peter's table and grinned at Peter. He looked at her in confusion.

"I still can't believe I'm doing this. I don't know why I agreed to this but I guess I should be open to taking some risks." Peter sighed. Marlene and him were sitting at the restaurant, waiting for Mary and Dorcas.
"It'll be fine! Just follow my lead and pretend to be Peter."
"I am Peter." He raised his eyebrow.
"That the spirit!" Marlene patted his back.
After a few minutes, Mary entered the restaurant with a girl behind her. The girl had braids and was wearing a dark green dress. Marlene's breath stopped for a second. She looked really pretty. They said their hello's and sat down together.
"Hi, I'm Mary!"
"Oh- um. I'm Peter."
"Nice to meet you! Marlene, this is Dorcas." Mary said, introducing the pretty girl next to her.
Marlene's face heat up. "Hey, I'm Marlene."
Dorcas smiled at her.
"So, Peter, how do you and Marlene know each other?" Mary asked while smiling at Peter.
"How long do we know each other?" Peter said nervously.
"F-from school!" Marlene interrupted. She didn't want Mary to find out they just met a few hours ago.
"Yeah we met in collage- I mean high school!" Peter changed his answer after Marlene kicked him under the table. Marlene didn't go to collage! Oh they were definitely gonna screw this up.

"You know, it's so suprising that you and Marlene have known each other for so long and I've never heard about you." Mary asked, sipping her drink.
"Well- that's because... we had a bit of falling out. But we're fine now." Marlene said.
"Really, what happened?" Dorcas asked Peter.
"We're trying to have a conversation here." Marlene said to Dorcas. But Dorcas glared at her.
"Wow. You're a lot nicer at the 'Cherry Crash' concerts." Dorcas rolled her eyes.
"Cherry Crash! You're the drummer! That's why you're so familiar!" Peter said to Marlene and she felt like dying. They were so fucked.
"What?" Marlene glared at Peter. That idiot!
"What??" Mary looked to Peter and Marlene. "Do you not know each other??"
"Of course we do!" Marlene said giving Peter a look.
Mary's smile dropped. "Let me ask you something, Peter. How many siblings does Marlene have?"
"Uh.." Peter didn't know what to say and Marlene covered her face with her hands.
"Marls! Why did you set me up with a stranger??" Mary asked Marlene.
"Because I... I forgot about the date. I'm so sorry!" Marlene frowned.
"Yeah, I'm sorry too. I didn't mean to lie to you like that." Peter said with a sad look on his face.
"You're unbelievable! I spent so much time finding the perfect girl for you and-"
"Actually we met a few days ago." Dorcas said with a blank face.
"Sssh!" Mary said with frustration.
"What? You just met her too? Then how does that make me the bad person??" Marlene argued against Mary.
"At least I didn't find her at the street!" Mary argued back.
"Ouch." Peter said unseriously.
"Pssst. Pete." Dorcas whispered to Peter while Mary and Marlene were arguing back and forth. Peter turned to Dorcas.
"Wanna get out of here?" She said smirking.
Peter nodded enthusiastically and they managed to leave without Marlene and Mary realizing. They were too busy yelling at each other.
"Well you- Wait. Where's Peter and Dorcas??" Mary said, finally realising their dates were gone.
"Huh?" Marlene looked around and they actually were gone.
Mary sighed. "Wow. We really acted grown up tonight."
"Yeah..." Marlene sat down in defeat. They both sat in silence.

As Mary entered Centeral Perk Café someone called out her name. "Hey! Mary! Uh... Can we talk? I want to apologize." It was Peter.
Mary smiled. She was hoping to see him again and apologize to him too. "I wanted to say sorry too. We totally ignored you two while arguing with each other."
Peter smiled. "I forgive you. I actually did want a chance with you because well... I did like you."
Mary beamed. "Well, how about an actual date tonight?"
Peter's face turning a shade of red. "Really? I mean- you would give me an actual chance?"
"Yeah! It wasn't actually your fault Marlene dragged you into this."
"Don't blame her, she just didn't want you to feel sad because she forgot about the double date." Peter said with empathy.
Marg sighed. "Yeah, I know. I just got angry at that moment, I'm not actually mad at her. She's the one who made us meet, after all."
Peter smiled back shyly.

"Dorcas! Hey, Meadowes!" Marlene called after Dorcas when she spotted her on the street. Dorcas ignored her and kept walking.
"Hey! Please just listen. I want to say I'm sorry. I really am!" Marlene caught up with her. Dorcas finally stopped and turned to her.
"I don't care, Marlene. You made it very clear you're not interested in me." She said with a serious face.
"No, I do! I actually was interested in you! I can't tell you how sorry I am for ignoring you the whole dinner. I was just so nervous that Mary was going to find out about the lie." Marlene said with a sad look.
Dorcas stayed silent.
"When I saw you come through that door, I was basically speechless. I really am interested in you. I want to actually get to know you. Can you at least give me a chance?"
Dorcas sighed. "Fine. You have one chance, McKinnon."
"Thank you, thank you! I won't disappoint, I promise!" Marlene's face lit up.
Dorcas actually even smiled a little. "Can we have an actual date now?"
"Definitely." Marlene grinned. She had a feeling this relationship was going to go well.
