Work Text:

Life was never quite Fair for a lot of beloved heroes, whether it's because of their own actions or their strings being pulled by an unseen puppet Master, one can safely say that in order to be a hero something bad has to happen to you first and these guys are no exception

From people losing their families

Their lovers

Falling into dark crowds

Having something stolen from them

Losing the one thing that kept them going

Cruel torment at the hands of their own species

Or being given something they simply never asked for

Many of these things can turn a normal person into many things some might say an a super villain, a raging psycho, a potential hero or sidekick, the antihero anti villain the mysterious helper with a hidden agenda

Whatever you want to call them all these titles share one thing in common

…A normal person being pushed into a situation they never asked for…and being given something they never wanted

Not every hero has to be hero and not every villain wanted to be a villain it's how they handle their lives and actions from then on that shape them to who they are

They can become a homelands greatest defense, or it's most hated enemy

They can be seen as a guiding star or the fallen star

Angel or demon

Innocent or Malicious

All it takes is for the light in their heart to lead them down their chosen path to show them the way they wish to go…

…No matter where the destination may be or what dark path it might take them down…

Our world is no different…

Many realms, many places to explore, many people to meet

Whether you're a God or a mortal everyone just needs to take that first step down the path that can either lift them up or bring them down…

what path will you take interpret wanderer

a gentle voice says as she looks at three small faces six pairs of eyes just staring at her all entranced by the book she just read

Despite how their reactions were to the story she can tell they were invested

One with medium long hair wearing a blue ninja like outfit had pretty distant eyes but not because they weren't paying attention but because they were too busy daydreaming about that story they love so much especially when their mother reads it her voice just makes the perfect narration

Another with medium short hair wearing a yellow ninja like outfit tried their hard as to stay calm but their hand flapping made it very obvious they couldn't sit still they loved this story exciting adventures is all they ever wanted

The last one what's the most entranced of all eyes glowing as if they had just seen an angel, hugging on to a stuffed lizard very close to their chest their eyes opened agaped, their silver hair was quite short but not nearly as short as they were compared to the other two children sitting next to them, their eyes were shining like stars at least to the little child's perspective

"Well what did you three think did you enjoy it" the woman in front of them their mother said with such a beautifully calm voice

They were all just smiling enjoying the story so much that they didn't want her to stop, but there was only one reason why she would read them this story…it's bedtime

"I loved it can we read the next one" the silver child said crawling over to their mother's lap, wanting to grab the next book only for the blue child to stop them

"I know you want to keep reading I want to read it too but it's time for bed come on" they said picking up their little siblings, the silver child didn't want to go to sleep though well the yellow child clearly did they couldn't keep their eyes open for much longer

"No I don't want to go to sleep we're not tired right…" before the child could even finish their sentence the other little one got up before immediately fainting into their eldest siblings arms

The mother just giggle that she picked up her sleepy little child and tried to guide all three kids back to their beds only for the eldest to go to the kitchen allowing the youngest to follow

"What are you doing in here… Bi-bi" the little one whispered saying their nickname caught their siblings attention, despite them not liking the nickname when they turned around they just had a soft look on their face as they handed the little one a cup

"I was just getting some tea for all three of us Kuai loves this type of tea" he responded handing the little one the cup

The little one got so excited that they drink without question earning a small giggle from their oldest sibling

"Come on it's time for bed" he said but his youngest sibling wouldn't let go of his arm

"Can you please…" without saying anymore the eldest got down to his knees allowing his little sibling to crawl on his back so we can piggyback ride him

The little one giggled as they held on to their sibling and enter their room… noticing the strange paranoid look on their oldest brother's face

Before they could respond though they ended their room seeing the second oldest still slightly awake

"Hey Kuai, I brought you some of your favorite tea thought I could help you sleep" the oldest said placing the tea down in front of the two of them

"Let me guess the little rascal already drank his" Kuai responded knowing their sibling brother well

"Yeah he did but look at him now" he turned around allowing the little one who was currently sleeping on his back to be seen

The two brothers just sighed and giggled a little less they got ready for bed drinking the tea as they went along

"Are you sure it's necessary for him to be drinking that stuff" Kuai asked his elder brother, who just gave him a sad look

"Don't worry it's just tea, it's nothing harmful I made sure that I'm the only one besides mother who can make it…at least the elders have been saying less about him" Bi responded looking sadly upon his little brother

ever since the poor boy got here there's been nothing but harsh looks and dirty glares but the two brothers promised to protect their little sibling

"I have to admit though I don't understand why they're so mean to him" Kuai said sitting down next to his little brother, cupping his cheek with his small hand

Little Bi couldn't help but smile as he looked at his little siblings…his heart clenched from how cute they were and how precious they were to him…although it did make his heart want to cry a little as his younger brother never noticed the pain he went through…but he didn't mind he thought it was his responsibility to take on that pain…after all it's the older siblings job to protect the younger ones…and that's exactly what these two are to him…a precious treasure that needed to be protected

"Well when I grow up I'll make sure that you two will have to suffer from that anymore" the boys said confidently as he gave the two little ones a pat on their heads before walking over to their lantern, turning it off as they all turned in for the night

"Good night big brothers" the little one said underneath his breath sleep talking again

"Good night Tomas" they whispered back as they all cuddle together

…But not everyone went to bed happy that night

After all it's kind of hard to go to bed happy… when all you're worried about is your family

you're such a dummy you know that, all you ever do is worry but then you don't ever put any action behind it, have you ever going to be a grand master if you can't even protect what's important to you, you really are as cold as ice

you idiot, why didn't you tell him how you really felt, why didn't you tell him but you hate it when the elders treat him badly too, you're not stupid nor are you blind you see the way the elders treat him…why haven't you told mother…why are you being such a scaredy cat…it's your job to protect your brothers after all it doesn't matter that he's older than you…for someone with such burning passion you sure aren't putting those flames to good use

Haunted every night by these words and expectations of those around them the only thing that ever brought these two boys comfort was each other, their youngest brother really made their lives worth living…and that hurts them even more…after all none of them asked for the things that happened to them to happen…but now all they can do is hold each other's hands try to protect one another

from their clan

The horrible elders

The villagers who worship them but don't know the real them

And worst of all…

Enenra

…Their father…
