they're so good together, you know?

Work Text:

Stream’s over, she has a few hours to relax and just exist, it’s nice. She’s waiting for Nerissa to come home, the taller woman had a recording to go do, so she’s alone in their shared apartment now. She scrolls mindlessly on various apps, occasionally giving a chuckle, but otherwise not really  paying that close of attention.
No…, what she wants is for her girlfriend to be home. She wants to bother her. Yeah, it’s super fun to flirt with the other girls on stream and even in-person sometimes, but … she longs for a specific type of affection. Something she only gets from Nerissa. A smile is on her lips as her thoughts drift to the raven haired beauty she somehow managed to convince to be with her.

It had been…, several months now, she didn’t really have a good concept of time and neither did Nerissa, so they didn’t really celebrate the usual "anniversaries" or things like that. They took steps in their relationship as they felt ready. That was probably one of the best things about their relationship, they were so good and open with their communication. The hard lines were few and far between, they knew who the other person was, the love that flowed from them easily, the jokes, and of course, they knew when the other person was serious. It was this acceptance, this understanding that brought the grem so much joy. She didn’t have to pretend around Nerissa. She could be unapologetically herself, which she had been doing prior to their relationship of course, but never when she was in one. She didn’t feel those constraints with the raven though, things were just… easy.

Her foot tapped in the air impatiently, eyes flicking to the top of her screen, checking the time. A slight smile tugged at her lips, Nerissa should be arriving home any time now. She debated how she should greet her. The smile becoming a grin, she knew herself, she’d do what she almost always did when Nerissa came home when she herself was finished with her work.

That familiar sound of keys turning in the front door have Gigi bounding over to the door, her tail wagging happily as finally, her girlfriend is home.
Nerissa barely gets the door all the way open, barely a foot inside her home before a smaller body is barreling into hers. Laughing, she wraps her arms around said smaller person.

Large pink eyes are peering up at her from what she can barely see over her bust, an annoying trait but she’s used to it by now, the smile on her lips is genuine, her chest aches with how much love she feels.

“Did you miss me?”

“Of course,” is the immediate response, followed by a tighter squeeze of her ribs.

As much as she adores her girlfriend’s enthusiasm, sometimes her hugs are a little too painful.
With a gasp she lets it be known, “Gigi…, crushing again.”

Bashful, the grem lets go, hands drifting down to clasp one of Nerissa’s hands with both of her own, that same grin on her face.
“Sorry.”

Nerissa only smiles at her, “You don’t have to be.”

Then they’re discussing their days, Gigi insisting she goes first.
Together, on the couch, Gigi curled up next to her, Nerissa can’t help but think of how much she loves the smaller woman sitting next to her, a smile on her lips as she details her day at the studio.

When it’s Gigi’s turn, the grem sits cross-legged on the couch, her body turned to face Nerissa, idly playing with their still joined hands as she talks. The raven’s eyes trace Gigi’s familiar profile, watching as her tail waves back and forth, adding emphasis on occasion.
“You’re cute, you know that?” Nerissa murmurs when her girlfriend is finished going over her day.

A bright grin and shining pink eyes, “You must tell me at least three times a day; so… maybe?”

Nerissa giggles, leaning over, closing the distance between them, hovering just out of reach, as always, letting Gigi decide if she wants this or not. She doesn’t have to wait long, soft lips press against her own, her heart feeling like it’s going to burst through her chest and then those soft lips are gone, the grem getting up and stretching.
She pouts for a moment but then takes the time to admire her girlfriend, tracing the familiar lines of her barely exposed back, the way her tail swings back and forth, the shorts that ride perpetually low after having been sitting for a while. Indecent thoughts flood her mind and she looks away, a blush rising in her cheeks. It isn’t that they don’t do those things, but it’s always initiated by Gigi, though she has been given the ‘green light’ to try, most of the time she really does prefer if the smaller woman is the one who initiates.

“I’m gonna go down to the gym for a bit,” Gigi announces, half-turning back to her girlfriend still seated on the couch.

“I’ll miss you.”

“I won’t be that long,” a gentle caress to her cheek, sad pink eyes.

“Still,” Nerissa pouts, folding her arms beneath her chest.

“We’ll have so many cuddles when I get back?”

Nerissa continues to pout, prompting Gigi to lean over her, hands braced on the back of the couch, their bodies barely an inch apart. Nerissa is blushing again, but she tries not to let Gigi know how her proximity is affecting her.
“What… what if I wanted more than cuddles?”

Nerissa swears something passes across the grem’s features for an instant but then she’s grinning as usual, “You know…, if you’re a good girl while I’m gone…”

“Gigi!”

The grem is laughing, pushing off the couch, and going over to the door, “I’ll be back love!”

Nerissa can only sigh, the other woman’s words racing in her mind but she tries to push them away, no use getting her hopes up. It wasn’t that she wasn’t grateful for the times they were intimate, it was more, that Gigi’s feelings about such things were unpredictable, even for the grem herself, which she knew distressed her greatly. Instead, she’s going to focus on relaxing for a bit and then cooking them a nice dinner. If anything happens after that, good, if not, also good. Either way, she’ll get to cuddle her gremlin.

When Gigi comes back, their dinner is nearly finished, the grem pauses, giving her a kiss on the hand, before she’s dashing off to shower.

Sitting at the table together, Gigi’s hair is down and still damp, but she tucks into their meal with her usual excitement.

They chat a little more over dinner, about their plans for the following day, before Gigi offers to do the dishes, and Nerissa smiles, saying she’s going to go have her shower as well.

Gigi is sprawled on the couch after doing the dishes, phone in hand while she waits for Nerissa to finish her shower.
Hearing footsteps approach her, Gigi shifts into a sitting position, “You know…, I like the way you kiss me.”

Nerissa blushes, standing behind the couch, gazing down at her girlfriend who had said those words without even looking at her.
Smiling, she taps Gigi’s shoulder, the grem leans her head back, gazing up into wine red eyes. Nerissa leans forward, bending down hovering just above those lips she had kissed earlier. As always, Gigi closes the distance between them, Nerissa’s hands drifting across her beloved’s upper body, gripping her tank top in her fists, trying to convey just how much the grem means to her. If she knows anything, it’s that she loves Gigi Murin.
