“Alright people! Are you ready for today?”
Sounds of agreement come from the two people at a desk with multiple cameras pointing at them, way in front of him.
“You'll just say ‘Welcome to 1-in-sight,’ introduce yourselves, and the name of the game we will be playing today which is twenty questions, alright?” Akashi stated.
Akashi Tamayo, the head director and interviewer for today's 1nsight episode being recorded in Europe was actually pretty pumped. Getting two of the forwards of the 2022 World Cup winning team, knowing they'd have millions of sponsorship promos and media related events queued for them, let alone getting them in England was a miracle. Now having them sat in front of him he can see the so-called closeness the media has been raving about. Their heads leaned toward one another, sounds of whispers passing between them, Shidou’s hand laid upon Isagi’s. This scene definitely resembles a picturesque couple in love, but Takashi knew that the possibility of Isagi Yoichi and Shidou Ryuusei dating wouldn't be likely. Don't get him wrong, he's far from homophobic due to growing up in urban America most of his childhood and being chronically online (one of the factors that scored him this job), but knowing Japan and their insistence on a heteronormative image even though being the land of Yaoi would make them having feelings for each other unlikely let alone revealing a romantic relationship. Then again, they are adults with careers that rely more on their skill than public appearance but he knows that even the smallest media backlash could affect anyone, like Michael Kaiser and rumors of his mother being famous actor Alice Love causing a viral public crashout. But Akashi digresses, this speculation is not relevant to the situation at hand– he has two super stars on set waiting to record!
“Okay, start rolling in 3… 2… 1!”
“Hello and welcome to 1nsight! Im Yoichi Isagi and this is,”
“Ryusei Shidou!” The man addressed winked.
“And we're forwards from the 2022 World Cup Japanese team.”
“AKA the best in the fucking WORLDDDD!!”
“Woo!!” Cheers erupted from the staff behind the camera.
Isagi-san seemed to glow at the attention, face flushing in a pretty pink. “Ahaha, and the game the lovely staff has prepared for us to play is–”
“Twenty Questions!!!!” the dynamic duo exclaimed in sync.
Isagi-san indicates with a small poke for Shidou-san to explain the game for anyone clueless about the common icebreaker game. The flow of conversation is smooth, neither of them spending too long on a question that requires a reminder to get back on track and Shidou is actually behaving unlike other interviews where he had riled up his interviewee partner or said outlandish stuff. There's actually a common trend noted online where whenever he's in Isagi's presence, whether it's just the two or in a group, he behaves more than without.
After a few questions, Shidou pulls out another card.
“‘If you were forced to live with anyone for your entire life who would it be?,’ hmm…” Shidou slowly turns his head over to Isagi-san looking playfully exasperated.
“Definitely... This guy!!”
He giggles,“Same here.”
“Ahh that makes sense you two are very close, no? Knowing each other since BlueLock,” Akashi remarked.
“Uh-huh,” Isagi confirms. “We’ve known each other for a while now, and we practically live with each other with how much he visits,”
“Yeah you could even call me his boyfriend~” Laughter erupts from the coup– the pair… and Isagi playfully slaps Shidou over the head. He acts casual enough at the flirtatious jab that Akashi pays no mind, even if he prides himself on being quite observant about these things. He meets celebs on a day to day basis so he does have inside scoop about secret relationships that are not so secret but this just feels like Shidou-san being his usual self…
“Owie~! Haha yeah but a close second is definitely Sae-chan.”
“True… he's actually a good roommate, for me I think.. Chigiri! I know you guys may have heard the…” Isagi is definitely thinking about the daily twitter “beef” between Nagi and Chigiri complaining about their living situation together while Reo tries to save face. People, including Akira, like to keep up with the timeline as a form of entertainment to see what other insane things Nagi does to conserve energy and see the gorgeous red-head rip out his hair over on twitter.com. “...chaotic household he’s in right now, but during Blue Lock he was not that bad of a roommate and actually picked up after himself.”
They continue the episode and wrap up the interview on a good note. The one off comment about Shidou being Isagi's boyfriend brushed over the production team's heads regarding it as a cute one-liner. Although it wasn't left unnoticed by the BlueLock fandom. Posts of #RYUSAGI and #sdis bursted out from that clip but over time that flame sizzled down, overshadowed by other numerous content of Isagi with his other teammates, even that one very blurry moment recorded by Bastard Munchen's right winger Erik Gesner, where Kaiser, half asleep, tripped over Ness into Isagi's arms continues to trend. No one would’ve realized the foreshadowing interview gave to the ultimate shock of the internet.
Two tall figures stalk down a hallway with only an exit door at the end of it. Isagi Yoichi– or in this case since they're currently in England, Yoichi Isagi and Ryusei Shidou just now leaving from the interview.
Ryusei with his hands behind his head began, "You should reveal our relationship.”
"Hm?” Yoichi heard him.
“Like..” Ryusei hesitates, “You've never given out an official statement on our relationship”
“Why me?” Isagi is aware of Ryusei posting them on date night, morning afters, etc, without the face but still. Out of the two of them Ryusei is the one that posts the most.
“Becauseeee Yo-chan, nobody flipping believes me even after saying I fuck you for years,” he drags out petulant.
“You say you'd hit it from the back to anyone you remotely like, saying THAT isn't out of the norm,”
“I don't say that about my little guy!" Definitely talking about Charles, Ryusei's fond of that gremlin with the contrarian passes.
“I believe you said– on NATIONAL TV by the way! To ‘wait till he's legal~’ and rub your hands together menacingly.”
A pause. Not awkward because Ryusei is the very antonym of that but a pause nonetheless for Ryusei to recall. Don't mix that up with reflect, that shameless guy would never regret his past actions. Only for Yoichi ofcourse.
“Whatever.. still you should at this point.”
This is true, his family knows and teammates do but it's easy to forget the public doesn't. It's not like they hide their relationship but Yoichi’s not heavy on PDA and cameras are only on Ryusei if he is up to something stupid.
...There is the question of why now? They have officially got together after winning the U-20 World Cup in 2019 so they could have revealed it then, but soccer is always at the forefront of their mind so why would they concern themselves that instead of devouring and savoring eachother's soccer and body. Yet it was simple and necessary affair to tell their friends and parents why not be straightforward to their fans? Ryusei doesn't give a fuck and Yoichi lowkey wants to keep all the memories of love to himself, but he knows that Ryusei’s a free spirit so he gatekeeps what he can. The public speculates, because the wild man doesn't hide his affection, but it is always disregarded for his usual actions, not seeing the caring, gentle person Ryusei is behind the cameras. And Yoichi likes to keep it that way. It's not like reporters pester them with those types of questions, both of them usually having soccer based questions thrown at them about declarations of triumph or about a model they were seen with. It's not like Japan, and in extension the rest of the world, would believe that two ‘rivals’ would ever be dating behind the scenes right? And Yoichi unlike himself, chooses not to defie this narrative.
Ryusei meanwhile, just wants to stake his claim. It’s still hilarious seeing other people online speculate about Yoichi’s relationship with others, knowing it’s his bed that he’s sleeping in each night. But it is damn annoying when he posts among the reblogs of deranged memes and uncanny abstract art a scandalous pic of Yoichi without his face with a minimum of 200 views and one comment saying “AI” as if Ryusei can't get bitches on the daily. He's pissed, but knows better and empty that faucet, due to some counseling and having the light of his life by his side. Regardless, the issue has been a wriggling little ant, half-crushed yet nerve receptors still working that blood barely leaking out attracts another antworker to come and carry that insignificant black carcass and you crush that too right? Because ew– ants. But then the whole fucking colony leads out in a dotted line like a funeral parade that makes you very bewildered to where the hell the annoying mozzie-ass bugs came from and discover a whole mountain of those disgusting black crinking things that unfortunately have the gift of life and have the pain of even having those invertebrates in your mind thinking of ways to eradicate them.
Safe to say that Ryusei was a bit frustrated. Mad even.
“Ok, Ok, fine.. when I find the chance I’ll make a post or something.”
By then they were already in the car. Ryusei immediately bumping some loud Vkei playlist and singing along. Yoichi laughs all the way back to their hotel at Ryusei belting the lyrics to Pink Spider by Hide even though he knows that Ryusei has a beautiful singing voice after attending way too many karaoke bars. Who's fault? Yours truly, Shidou Ryusei's. Yoichi by then completely forgets about Ryusei's request, thinking about what dinner they're gonna eat tonight and the way a warm hand inching up his inner thigh makes his heart thump with anticipation.

The video shows a raven-haired man with his hand over his mouth glowing in a gentle evening light. It's clear that he's outside due to the building behind him and shrubbery surrounding it along with the audio catching the wind flowing. The expression on his face is of pure delight. The camera flipped to show a very low sunset and glass balcony. The man lifted his hand in the frame, it beholding a beautiful white diamond ring. It's held up for a few seconds as if admiring it before the camera flips again to show the guy with a tan blondie with pink dyed tips holding him from behind. The slightly taller guy grabs the hand adored with the ring and kisses it firmly. Then the newly engaged couple turns their heads to each other smiling, seemingly leaning in for a kiss before the video ends.
The caption reads "I'm engaged!”
Yoichi doesn't care about the public. He doesn't pay mind to the constant critique online that he always breaks the expectations of. He doesn't spare a second glance to the dms and mentions he gets in other’s posts, much more preferring to spend it on training. He doesn't care, so much so that most of his socials are barren except for soccer post and analysis. Of course he still has a social life, his frequent appearances on other teammates social media, the paparazzi catching him all over Europe every preseason, and his extensive contact list of rivals and friends alike shouldn't peg Yoichi as a private guy. Sharing just enough to be like any other famous person with a healthy work-life balance. Though some of his close friends could say he had none at all, considering his obsession with soccer but that because his life centers around it. The ball and Ryusei, the love of his life. Loves the way the grass crunching under his cleats at the start of a new match, the bang of a killer shot that makes his heart stop with trepidation, the embraces of his teammates after scoring the winning point, and the honey sweet praises Ryusei drowns him in after a serving a delightful pass. He loves him, enough to imagine one day both clad in white at an altar and a ring to bear the rest of his life. Who witnesses it doesn't matter to Yoichi what matters is the clear intimacy between him, the secret glances, stolen kisses, and sleepy back hugs in the morning. That said, he has no care to share all that online. Call him possessive but he likes to keep what is his to himself, whether that display of love is shared with the world is none of his concern.
Yoichi closes his phone and turns back to Ryusei after finishing filming the vid and uploading it. He’s grinning ear to ear finally staking his claim on whats his, soon to see his precious bunny dressed in white like a gift waiting for him to ravish. And now publicly for the sec–
Wait...
Ryusei asks absentmindedly, “Actually have we even revealed we've been dating since after the U-20 WC?"

The caption now reads after 10 mins of the first upload with 26k views and 3k likes “Im engaged! Edit: uh sorry for not telling you guys that im dating someone (^^;)”

Ryusei remembers getting pulled one year to an interview post match the dribbles of adrenaline just wearing off. Ryusei later, going through the copious amount of Instagram reels Charles had sent him, saw one of that very same interview with a bunch of French memes edited along to it. The comments are filled with the typical Shidou worshippers eating up his locution and critics, but none mentioning the way he talked bout' Yo-chan. Thats fine, not like he expected those bums rotting away in their house to remark it, but just when he was about to close the comment section he peeps on saying how silly he is to talk about Isagi like that because he will slime Shidou but the top reply states,
“lol nah dude chill thats how shidou always is.”
Now.
Thats Ryusei's beautiful, handsome, pretty, elegant, breathtaking, gorgeous, attractive, charming, heavenly, stunning, exquisite, cute, divine, alluring, pleasing, lovely, delightful, appealing, engaging, winsome, ravishing, gorgeous, glamorous, irresistible, bewitching, beguiling, graceful, elegant, exquisite, aesthetic, magnificent, hot, sexy, foxy, divine, pulchritudinous, dazzling, fascinating, fine, good looking, graceful, grand, splendid, superb, wonderful, sublime, statuesque boyfriend we're talking about. Why the HELL would Ryusei spout praises like that for anybody else? He digressed. Ok Ryusei's always been a bit frustrated about things like that and people doubting his dedication because; while Ryusei is a wild, care-free person that doesnt give a jack ass to anybody else he is still honest, (for he has no reason not to be) and therefore honest about his love for Isagi Yoichi. The man that changed his life all for the sweeter and now he can even have the pleasure of making sure that others know that this absolute gem of a person is his. Its been about six years for fucksake!
Sure he could've pestered Yo-chan like somd clingy girlfriend to post about it but thats not his style. Theyve done this and that but when Ryusei actually throws around obvious honts that he's dating someone the public blatantly disregards it its not like he throws them around for attention bit he does want to try subtlety as nagged on by everyone around hime
Coach, Loki, his agent, the public, Yoichi himself, ryusei by now is bound to take that advice huh? So he did, keeping faces out of pics, candid shots blurry and words vague. Because when Ryusei wants to he can be normal.
Seems like this time its biting him in the ass instead of aiding though.
the fact of the matter is, is that no body believes him after saying hes been fucking Yo-chan for years, and the truth is finally out. He's lucky that Ryusei didnt take his phone and make a post himself– damn he should of done that now thats he's thinking about it– but whatever whats done is done. Do count on his word, Yo-chan will pay!!
