Summary:
Curt knows this is what they're meant to be doing, he knows that well. To be unaware of the roles they must play is to render himself willingly blind to reality. No matter how much he hates it, he does it anyway, because the only other option is to lose himself entirely. To this end, Curt is also aware that Evan is doing the same.
Except Evan isn't truly the same, Evan is enjoying this- enjoying *Jem*- when he knows full well that this is all only meant to be an act, only skin deep. It's like Evan has forgotten he has a real boyfriend, a face behind the mask. Curt may be a villain, the antagonist to Jem's unwitting protagonist, but he cannot let this slide. As the actors drift away, Curt makes his move.
It's just a shame that Curt always underestimates the lengths Evan is willing to go to.

Meanwhile, I want to strangle Evan with my bare hands. I love him, I do, but he's such a bastard and I would kill him at the first opportunity if he were real... actually, no, Evan would easily kill me first. I don't even think he would be remorseful about it.
