Chapter Text
SHRRRRK
The police officers neck gushed out blood as if it were a fountain, his last sounds being chocked pleases and wheezes as he fell to the floor twitching.Vincent stood over the dead body, panting heavily,he raised a shaky hand to adjust his glasses back to their original spot, heterochromic eyes moving to Alastor, who stared with wide eyes, blotches of awe and satisfaction in those brown reddish eyes, the brown man stood up from his fallen position, dusting his outfit off.
"Well...How do you feel?"
Vincent looked down at the knife he was still holding,a kitchen knife, painted in dark red now.
"Alright"
Alastor's small grin widened, leaning back against the kitchen counter, the marble floor was ruined,he'd have to do a deep clean.
Vincent kneeled down, grabbing the now dead body and turning in on it's back to stare at the slit neck.
The corpses expression stood frozen in shock, forever forced to make such a face, the brunette pulled at the still bleeding cut, looking underneath, heterochromic eyes morbidly curious to see what tinkered inside the human body.Alastor watched, still feeling like he were on a cloud, for the mixed man felt strongly for the other, and accepting it had been the best choice in his life,Vincent looked breathtaking, poking around the now cold dead body, knife still in hand, the blood drying up.
"Amazing.."
CRACK
Vincent made a awed noise as he twisted the bodies neck at a angle not possible for a alive human being to do,the neck breaking to make a very satisfying sound.
°One Year Ago°
Vincent had been desperate for employment.
Not because he needed money fast, but because his Father pressured him to search for one,he had passed his tests to get his teaching certificate with flying colors of course, anything worse then 100% meant failure in the brunettes personal opinion.
So he had searched, the schools nearby, his old ones he used to attened even, but they had the position he needed full,Vincent had never been so frustrated,he already hated looking for a job.
Atleast he didn't have to for a long time.
He stood infront of the highschool he was supposed to teach from now on,he had to buy a apartment room, since it was too far from where he had previously lived,Vincent had never had a place all to himself, having been living with his Father at that point, quite emberassing trying to learn when to do laundry,he's ruined so many shirts..
Thankfully,Vincents teaching job won't happen till next week, summer was still there, even if kicking and screaming trying to stay longer.
With his work bag on his shoulder and showing the security woman at the gate he wasn't here to place a bomb,he walked inside the school building.
He stood infront of the map on the wall, showing every nook and crany of the place,Vincent wasn't suprised,Hazbin Highschool was a notoriously popular place you'd want your kid to be enrolled in.
Vincent had gotten the job because his Father decided to cash in on some favours, the man had previously been a teacher here, and knew people.Vincent murmured the instructions the map had given him under his breath to not forget,he turned sharply to the left where be knew the Teachers Lounge should be only to bump into someones back,he stumbled slightly, grabbing the red cladded person he accidently hit from falling as they lost their footing.
"I-Im so sorry,are you alright?"
The person shook off Vincents hands on their shoulders and turned their head, looking down at the brunette as they pushed back their own glasses into their original place.
"Quite pal,do look where you're going next time"
Vincent nodded at the man, adjusting his askewed glasses back to how they should be,from the mop in the other mans hands Vincent could only guess he was the janitor of this place, and hopefully not the only one, this place was too big for only one man to clean.
"i will,um sorry again,k-keep up the good work!"
Vincent gave a awkward smile and thumbs up as he speedwalked past the other before the dark skinned man can say anything else, instantly groaning into his eyes when he turned another corner he needed to make.
Vincent knocked on the door before opening it and peaking his head inside, locking eyes with a short man in round glasses.
"Ah,you are the new teacher yes?"
Vincent nodded, entering the room and clossing the door behind him.
"Vincent Whittman,it's nice to meet you..?"
"Baxter Ashes,a pleasure"
Vincent sat down on one of the seats around the long table, work bag dropped on the floor to his left.
"I am the Chemistry,Biology and Phychics Teacher"
Vincent blinked at that, fidgeting with his hands on his lap.
"That is..alot,for one teacher"
"I manage"
The silence that followed was awkward on Vincents part, looking around absently to distract himself,Baxter went back to what he was doing, reading some papers.
The room was dark in color, wooden floors and table littered with interesting knick knacks.
Vincent guessed the other teachers weren't coming or were later,it was still summer after all, vacation days are numbered.
"The Principal is in her office, she told me to sent you there when you arrive"
Vincent looked back at Baxter before scrambling to stand up again, pushing the chair in and grabbing his work bag.It would have been nice to be told that when he poked his head inside!
"It's on the left,second door"
Baxter never looked up from his reading,so the short man didn't catch the frown Vincent gave him,the brunette left quietly, shutting the door mutely before finding the door he needed,hr knocked politely, entering when he heard a voice telling him to come in.
"Mr.Whittman,it's so great to see you again, sit down"
Vincent sat down on the chair in the middle of the room, hands in his laps as he dropped his work bag next to his feet oncr again, the woman infront of him was Miss Flowerwall,or Rosie,as she insisted she call her.
"Hello Miss—i mean,Rosie"
Rosie gave Vincent a smile, moving the paperwork she had been working on to the side, her black eyes felt like they were staring into Vincents soul.
"I hope you didn't get lost on the way here?"
Vincent shook his head.
"Glad to hear,so let's get down to bussniss,we talked about the schedule last time but now we have the finalised schedule you'll have for the rest of the year"
She handed him a piece of paper and he read it quickly.
Most of his work hours were only three hours of the week, working with Freshman only,Vincent was glad he didn't have anything past fours hours,he dosen't think he can handle that yet.The rooms he needed to go to each classroom were written down and on which floors they were in aswell.
"Any nerves?"
Vincent nicely folded the paper and pocketed it.
"A little..."
"Oh you'll do fine,Deary, you can always come in here when you feel like everything is crumbling around you"
Well atleast he had a place to have his panic attacks?
Alastor moved the mop across the floor with precision, water bucket a few feet away from him,he had a week to tiddy up the whole school before it started, and Alastor worked well under pressure, the dark skinned man took the 'Wet Floor' sign and placed it down, grabbed his bucket and walked towards his next destination.
That man that had bumped into him,he was definetly new, young and spring,Alastor was always amused by those types,it was movie level entertainment watching the twinkling in their eye dissapear the more they realised how the real world worked.the janitor made a quick stop to empty his bucket and refill it,adding Domex into it after filling it up,after squeezing the unnecesary water out he got to wetting the hallway he was in.
His lunch break was not another ten minutes, and he still had two more spots to clean for today.
Alastor hoped to the new hire again sometime, maybe get his name too.
The intricate sounds of snapping always intrigued Vincent, not because of the sound in general, but because of the reason it would make that kind of noise.
As a child he'd seen his Father hunt for animals for sport, and easy food on the table for his sick wife, who Vincent was always too afraid to get to know fully, knowing she'd be 'Going away forever' soon,by his Fathers own wording.
Vincent was allowed to come on those hunts,to watch, never participate, and after,he got to see his Father work with the body,a deer,or a rabbit, skin off it's pelt, cut the limbs, and rotating thee limb when it couldn't be cut off till a snap sounded and it cleanly came off.It was how Vincent got to wonder about how humans would sound like,if their bones were snapped off,so easily.
Vincent rubbed at his forehead, having spaced out again,he'd been reading a couple books on calculations,a new one,he had yet to see anything new he hadn't already known about in there to try and complete for fun.
He clossed it,bookmarking it beforehand, before putting down at the desk he was sitting down at.
He got ready for bed after one look at his clock on the wall, picking one of his many marine styled pajamas he had and getting under the sheets,he stared at the ceiling.
He had been seeing that janitor for a couple days now,he seemed..interesting,Vincent had asked around and found it bazare that he was the only janitor in school,Alastor,as the man had introduced himself after running into the dark skinned man anothre time, was efficient in his cleaning.
The man had been working at the school for a long time already, and Vincent wondered how someone could stay cleaning such a big building for that long.
He yawned, drowsyness finally settling in,he pulled the covers over him more and clossed his eyes,a dreamless sleep taking him slowly.
The repeated sounds of a sharp knife cutting on a board echoed throughout the kitchen, the meat sliced into thin slices,Alastor hummed along to the radio that tuned to his favorite music station.
He had gotten the meat yesterday, quite fast it was,the dark skinned man had liked the chasse it had given him, sadly the poor things luck ran out,too tired to continue trying to escape the forest Alastor had let it try and exit from,it had been incredibly close to freedom too.
Tommorow would be the first day of school as summer finally ended, new students entering and seniors finally getting ready to graduate.
Alastor couldn't wait to see the new teacher in his element,he had been worming into his head alot lately,Alastor didn't know why,but he didn't feel frustrated at that fact, more curious actually.
He put the knife down.
"Vincent.."
The neutral smile he wore widened to a masisve degree,a manic feel to it.
