“How ya’ll feeling out there?” Jake asked the crowd as ENGENE started screaming, clapping, and barking at them.
The members started laughing and smirking at ENGENEs’ enthusiasm.
“Alright, alright! It seems like ya’ll are having a good time! We appreciate everyone for coming out to see us and have a good time with us.” Jake said with a huge smile on his face.
“Before we start our next set, I believe there’s an announcement…” Jay said with a side-eye and a conspiratorial smile on his face as he trailed off that got ENGENE really hyped.
“Tiffany, come on out!” Jungwon shouted into the mic.
Jake, surprised, quickly turned towards the side of the stage where he saw his wife, Tiffany come out on the stage.
Heeseung ran over to the side of the stage and held out his arm like a regal prince for Tiffany to loop her arm threw his. Heeseung walked Tiffany over to Jake and handed her off to her husband.
Jake warmly greeted his wife with a kiss and a tight embrace that ENGENE all started screaming, shouting, and applauding at the sweet, tender moment between the couple.
“Sweetheart, what are you doing out here?” Jake whispered in her ear.
Tiffany just smiled and whispered back in his ear, “I have a surprise for you, the guys and ENGENE. I wanted to share it with the people that you love the most.” She grasped his hand and placed it on her belly where their first child laid.
When they found out that they were pregnant they kept it private until Tiffany’s OB/GYN said that it was safe to spread the good news. Of course they told both sides of their families and then they told the rest of the members and ENGENE.
ENGENE were thrilled to hear that they were expecting their first child together. ENGENEs had an ongoing poll on W*verse whether it was going to be a boy or a girl; they even had a baby-naming contest on W*verse as well to see which names would be good contenders.
Jake had a beaming smile on his face as he gazed back into his wife’s eyes as he could guess what the surprise was.
“ENGENE say hello to Tiffany!” Jungwon shouted into the mic.
Jake and Tiffany turned towards ENGENE as the crowd went wild and began shouting, “Hi Tiffany!” Lightsticks were waving in the air and lighting up the stadium.
Tiffany smiled wide and waved towards ENGENE in greeting.
Suddenly, one of the stage crew members started walking towards Sunoo as they gave him an extra microphone. Sunoo bowed graciously and then Sunoo came over to Tiffany to hand her the microphone.
Tiffany gratefully took the microphone from Sunoo and began speaking into the mic, “Hi ENGENE!”
The crowd went crazy again in greeting.
Once the crowd quieted down, Tiffany started speaking again, “I have a little surprise for my husband, the members and most all, you ENGENE.”
There were some excited gasps that could be heard within the stadium and there were a lot of rumblings happening to try and figure out what the surprise was.
Even the members began looking at one another to gauge what was going on and what the surprise was.
“As many of you know, Jake and I are expecting our first child.” Tiffany started with a smile on her face as she looked out towards the crowd.
ENGENE all began clapping and cheering in excitement.
Again, Tiffany awaited until some of the noise level calmed down before she began again, “We finally know what we’re having! As a surprise, I thought it would be something special that could be shared with the members, but with all of you ENGENE. The members and all of you are extremely important to Jake, and I wanted him to experience the gender reveal news of our first child with the people that he loves the most.”
As Tiffany looked out in the crowd, she could see many ENGENE with glistening eyes, tears running down their cheeks, beaming smiles on their faces, jumping up and down in uncontained exuberance. Tiffany turned to look at the members and she could also see appreciative and kind smiles from Jay, Heeseung, Jungwon, Ni-ki and Sunoo.
“So I spoke with the crew and they were all happy to help me be able to surprise you all. Are you ready, ENGENE?!” Tiffany said as excitement and nervousness tinged her voice.
ENGENE screamed “Yes!” in excitement.
Tiffany held up a hand to calm ENGENE down and they all silenced immediately.
“Your lightsticks will light up with either orange or yellow. Orange is for a girl and yellow is for a boy. Ready???” Tiffany said to the crowd.
ENGENE nodded in acknowledgement and waited eagerly for their lightsticks to light up. The stage crew dimmed the lights of the stadium so it was dark enough to see when the lightsticks lit up.
Jake held tight to Tiffany’s waist , he then leaned in and kissed her temple as he held his breath to also know the gender of their first child. He had his wife in his arms, his members by his side and ENGENE all waiting to share in this monumental moment
On the big screen, there was a countdown of ‘3,2,1, it’s a….”
The stadium was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop as everyone waited to see which color the stadium would be lit up with.
And then the entire stadium lit up with orange orbs.
The stadium was filled with an uproar of cheers, clapping and shouts of “it’s a girl!”
The members also jumped up and down in pure joy for their teammate.
Jake pulled Tiffany into his arms and held her tight as they swayed side to side. Tiffany had tears streaming down her face as she held tight onto her husband.
“We’re having a girl!” Jake said with awe.
“You’re going to be the best girl-dad ever!” Tiffany said in a choked voice.
Pulling back, Jake kissed his wife tenderly and then all of his members came over and embraced them both in a big group hug.
“Wow, you’re going to be a girl-dad, Jake-hyung!” Ni-ki said in shock and excitement.
“You’re going to kill it as a girl-dad, Jake-ah!” Sunghoon replied next with a teasing smirk on his face, but it was in all good-natured fun.
“Thanks guys! Wow, I’m a girl-dad.” Jake said in awe again as he placed his hand on his wife’s belly.
“Yes, you are and she’s going to know just how much her dad loves her.” Tiffany said right back.
“ENGENE, on the count of three say ‘Congratulations’ to Jake and Tiffany!” Jungwon said into the mic.
“1,2,3!!!”
“Congratulations!!!!” ENGENE all shouted and they continued to wave their orange lightsticks in the air.
“Thank you, ENGENE! It means the world to me that we were able to share this with you. To my members, I love you guys and I know that my daughter will have the best samchons who will spoil her, but not as much as me.” Jake said with heartfelt sincerity and a bit of teasing humor at the end towards his members.
