The Missing Puzzle Pieces

Summary:

This fan fiction is mainly focused on Rin, Isagi and Bachira and their relationship but I will mention some other ships as I write.
This is going to be set in college/university so they will both be 1st years (Freshmen). Isagi and Bachira will be 19 and Rin will be 18 turning 19. (lets pretend rin got out of highschool 1 year early bc of how smart he is)

Just to make it simple, the school that they go to is called ‘Blue Lock’. Classes start at 7:30 and can go until 17:00 (5pm)

Their schedules are:
Isagi -
7:30-8:30; Psychology
9-10; English
11:30-12:30; Kinesiology

Rin-
7:30-8:30; Psychology
11:30-12:30;Kinesiology
14:00-15:00; Data Sciences and Statistics

Bachira-
7:30-8:30; Musical Studies
9-10; English
10:40-11:40; Visual Arts

Other characters will be introduced going along with the story but these three schedules are the most relevant in this story.

They do in fact have dorms and they share it with people who the school thinks they'll get along with through a survey. I don't feel like explaining who's with who right now so you will learn as the story progresses T0T

Notes:

sorry if this isnt the best, this is my first time writing ToT

Chapter 1: Seatmates ;)

Chapter Text

7:30 AM

*RINGGGG*

As the school bell rang, an individual with short blue-ish black hair with an assumed to be sprout growing from atop of his head was seen speed walking, practically running towards his class that he was late by 3 minutes to. His books were messily shoved into his bag obviously in a rush.

Somewhere in a classroom nearby, someone is heard talking in a monotone voice visibly not interested in speaking at the moment.

“Okay I'm going to take attendance now—” the professor said as he reluctantly opened the school's attendance website on his laptop. “Is Amamiya Kyo here?” “Present” “Aoi Myzano?” “Here!”.

As the list went on, the professor finally got to a certain name, a name that stuck out on the attendance due to his absence in the room. “Isagi Yoichi?”

“...”

All that followed was silence, silence that was loud and long. “Mr.Yoichi, are you present?” As the professor said these words, he stared into the crowd and saw someone sneaking in at the back of the class to try and get in unseen.

“I am guessing you are Isagi?”

“Ye–” without even letting him finish, the professor told him to sit down and marked him late. Isagi sat down and the boy beside him sighed, clearly irritated. Under the boys breath, very quietly, Isagi heard the boys mumbling. “Being late to class on the first day? That is so lukewarm…”

Isagi, confused on who this boy was, looked at him with mixed expressions of confusion and annoyance on his face; He wanted to say something but the words just wouldn’t come out right. Isagi just saved his breath and decided to pay attention to the names being called out for attendance in an attempt to learn who his classmates' were.

“Uhh…” the professor blurted, attempting to pronounce someone's name hoping he’d get it right the first time. “Dont hate me if I pronounce your name wrong, but is it pronounced… Itoshi–”. With only the last name Isagi's interest peaked as he knew there was someone in his year with that last name “Itoshi”. That certain someone was Itoshi Rin, the Itoshi Rin. Why was he so important you ask? He won valedictorian in his elementary and high school years of school and he was top of his class in all subjects. Everything the man touched was bound to be a success.

Isagi was intensely listening now, locked in if you will.
“Hmm, is it pronounced… Itoshi Ren? No, no, Itoshi Rin. Is Itoshi Rin in the room?” the professor says now waiting for an answer.

Isagi looked around trying to find out who the hell was going to say “Here” or anything along those lines. Isagi had never seen the face of this scholar, ever, so he wanted to know what this genius would look like. To Isagi’s surprise, the man who sat right next to him slightly raised his hand and silently announced, “Right here sir.”

The sprout headed boy turned his attention to the boy that sat next to him and realized that he sat next to the man who was a literal genius.

Rin gave the boy a glance and just stared. They sat there in silence as the teacher finished up calling names for attendance in the background. Finally, Isagi said something, “Urm, hi..!”. Rin just stared blankly and said, “Hello.” and turned his gaze back towards the teacher who seemed to be done with the attendance.

“Okay class, so now that I am done with attendance and most, if not all of you are here today, I just want to let you know that the seat that you are in at the moment is the one you will most likely be at for the rest of the semester. Sooo… get to know your seatmate… I guess… You guys will have to go through a lot together…and I mean a lot.”

Everyone took a look at the person sitting next to them and offered a welcoming smile signaling the start of a friendship. Everyone but the two at the back seat near the door, Rin and Isagi. Rin just stared blankly at the desk below his chin while Isagi was trying to figure out how to start up a conversation between the two.

The professor looked like he forgot to say something inches closer to the middle of the classroom to get everyone's attention once again. “Oh yah, by the way, my name is Mr. Jinpachi. I did not think it was necessary for me to say that since my name is on your schedules but it’s whatever. You guys can just call me Ego or whatever you want, your call, just something respectful or else I'm making your grade an automatic zero.”

After that little announcement, Ego said to the class, “Okay, I am not one to waste time so take out your notes and we’ll start off with the history of Psychology, yes, the history of Psychology.” The whole class sighed but Isagi gladly took out his notebook and stationary and quickly wrote down the title of the lesson plus the date, September 4th, 2025. Rin, already placed his notebook on the table, just looked at Isagi's frantic and silly handwriting. A slight smirk grazed the sides of his mouth. He started to take notes on the slideshow in front of him about “The History of Psychology” which he already studied beforehand.

“Wow, what a start to a class…” Isagi pointed out as he vigorously squinted at the projector once again.
