I Know You're There

Summary:

Bonnie just wants to focus on her classes and spending time with her best friends. It would be much easier to do if there wasn't a certain vampire keeping a close eye on her.

Work Text:

“Bon!”
A mane of golden hair appeared into her vision as she was taken into a tight embrace.

Stepping into the lecture hall she had expected many things. Bored students, rowdy students, a professor pretending to want to teach them. She should have expected her best friend tackling her the minute she showed her face but, silly her, what a mistake.

Finally released, she sat down, giggling at Caroline’s excitement. The girl always knew how to turn a bright side to things. Even a boring class that was scheduled much earlier than necessary.

Bonnie grabbed her laptop out of her bag, ready to listen to Mr Saltzman plow through the Ancient Occult Laws when it happens again. He happens again. Just like always she feels eyes on her and she knows exactly who it is.

Damon Salvator is staring at her. Just like he does every class they share. His husky blue eyes cut right through hers. She felt bare under his gaze. A shiver ran down her spine. Judging by the glint in his expression, he had seen it. He was observing her and he made no attempts to hide it.

Caroline had managed to tear her eyes away from her phone long enough to have caught the staring match that had ensued.

“Jesus Christ, is he still at this? It has been weeks, what a fucking creep!” Just as shameless as Damon was, Caroline matched it. Her tone was loud and clear, a few students around them probably would have looked up if they weren’t so used to the blonde ranting loudly at 8AM.

Not like whispering would have helped. Those honed vampire ears would have picked it up anyways.

Damon gave her one last deep penetrating gaze before he turned to the board.

It truly had been weeks. He joined Whitmore during the middle of the school year. At first she only saw him in the halls, which turned into twice a week and eventually developed into almost every day. Isn’t he studying Economy or something? He doesn’t need to take this class.

Weird.

She tried to ignore the guy. Maybe if she didn’t give it any attention it would stop.

“Where is Elena?” The brunette was not in her usual seat. Outside of random vampire escapades, Elena was actually a really good student. She would never miss out on the one class she took to be around her best friends.

Caroline shoved her phone into Bonnie’s face. “She fell ill. Stefan is taking care of her in his dorm. She was afraid that if she stayed in our dorm we’d become sick too. Because vampires and witches get sick so often.” Blue eyes rolled at how stupid of an idea that was.

A smile played around Bonnie’s lips. Ever the concerned Elena. The girl was so worried she’d be bothersome to her friends that she had completely forgotten neither was prone to illness.

The smile fell immediately. Vampires were not supposed to be ill. Vampires did not get sick, there was no such thing as a vampire cold. Caroline, despite laughing at Elena's assumption that they could get sick, had not caught onto the worrisome fact of Elena being sick herself.

Bonnie opened her mouth to tell her, just to shut it. Caroline just came back from a no humanity bender, she really did not need this. It had been so long since she’d seen the blonde truly relaxed and happy. No reason to ruin this.

Maybe Elena is just under-feeding again. It doesn’t have to be something serious or harmful.

She repeated it like a mantra as her eyes once again crossed with skye-blue ones. Cold as dawn.

——————————————

She really did try to ignore him for the next few weeks. But he wouldn’t allow her to. He didn’t just stare at her during classes. Damon was watching her. During lunch she felt his eyes on her. In the hallways. In the library.

He was always alone. He didn’t bother making friends. Or a girlfriend for the matter. She was sure that if he wanted to he’d be able to. Damon was not an ugly guy at all. A slightly muscular build could be seen through his dark shirts. His face was symmetrical, his smooth sharp jawline emphasising the masculine angles of his face. It was a shame he was such a weirdo.

He got female attention. He just ignored it. It was almost as if he only came to school for his classes and to gawk at her. His gaze shifted between undressing her and burning her skin.

Bonnie had already gone to the principal to complain. To urge them to do anything about this. But the answer she had received back was less than helpful: “Miss Bennet, looking at someone is not a crime. Please ignore this student and do come to us if he oversteps and harms you physically.”

Such bullshit.
The guy had to physically hurt her before they could be bothered to give a shit?

With the prices of tuition she had hoped student protection was part of their prerogative.

She took the advice. If he stared at her, she’d look away. She’d focus on the class material to the point she could dream it but that didn’t stop the burning of eyes on her.

And one day she had enough.

A two hours lecture on the most god awful boring thing she had ever heard about and he had only looked away from her TWICE.

Enough was enough.

After class she gathered all her belongings, shoving it into her leather shoulder bag. Not even Caroline’s loud complaints and questions could stop her from storming after the dark haired vampire.

With so many human students around and Elena still sick, she couldn’t exactly use her vamp strength to stop her. So there went the angry witch.

Those long legs sure made it hard for Bonnie to keep up. Damon made long strides towards the library.

As the busy halls filled with students filtered out into only a few she softened her furious stomping. It turned into gentle steps, meant to disguise how the stalking roles had switched.

She followed him into the library. Compared to the rest of the school that was on their way to classes, the library was almost empty. Tiny clusters of students were spread across tables and benches, either talking low voices or studying.

But that’s not where Damon was headed to. He went much deeper into the library. They passed shelves after shelves until they were in the far back of the room. Humans did not come here often. The Dark Arts section.

She watched him through the books on the shelf behind him. His fingers grazed through the many books until he stumbled upon what he was pointedly searching for.

Plagues and Curses

A gasp almost left her mouth. She slapped her hand in front of her mouth. Students were not supposed to use those forbidden books, well forbidden to witches. To this human university it was simply fiction and left out for anyone to read. How could they possibly know there were people able to use it like a grimoire.

She squinted her eyes trying to see what passage he was reading.

“I know you’re there.”

His husky voice cut through the air. The words were spoken clear and with confidence, he hadn’t even turned around or taken his eyes off the book.

No use hiding if he sensed her there. She stormed towards until she was right in front of him. Her thin fingers snatched the book out of his hands to see what he was reading. He didn’t stop her.

An illness spell. Exactly what she thought it would be once he picked up that book.

“I swear to god Damon, you better not be the one working with a witch to make Elena sick or I will come after you. And all this staring and stalking you’re doing? Cut it out! You’re much more obvious than you think you are.” The words came out so fast and angry it turned into one sentence. She was panting by the time she finished the barrage of words.

Damon was not phased by either her aggression or her tone. Completely relaxed, he leaned into her personal space.

“BonBon, I watch you because I want to and I get what I want. So I will continue to do so and none of those silly humans you complain to will do anything about it.” Her mouth fell open. He knew about the complaints she’d made and had only ramped it up once he realised they weren’t taking it seriously.

His hand reached out to gently play with the strand of hair that had escaped her bun.

“Also for the coming part. I don’t mind you coming for me. I foresee that happening plenty in our future.”

Our future?

Her cheeks heated up. She tried to back up but between his leaning into her space and then being in between shelves, she realised there was very little space.

Damon was looking at her in that way again. As if she was naked, as if he could see her hardening nipples right through the thin tank top and bralette. Maybe he could. The tip of his tongue peaked out to wet his lips, as if he was preparing to take the little bud in between them.

Desire and sadism burned in his eyes, he enjoyed making her uncomfortable. Watching her squirm under his gaze.

He leaned in closer. His tall broad figure looming above her. She could feel the chill of his cold vampire body grasping onto her warmth. As if it tried to take it to heat his body up. She almost wanted to lean in, take the temptation that vampires so naturally provided.

“Also about your friend or whatever. She’s not good for you. Selfish thing makes everything about herself.” The tension between them instantly shattered.

“Motus!”

Angrily shoving at his hard chest she reclaimed her personal space.

“Who are you to decide who is around me or not?! Stay the fuck away from me and my friends Damon or I will make things difficult for you. You forget that my ancestors like me a whole lot more than yours do, coven killer!” The words shot out of her mouth like daggers.

And with that she stormed off, ignoring how his eyes trailed her.

“You can keep pretending to be a good girl Bonnie. I have watched you long enough to see you’re just like me, dark inside.”

She didn't bother to turn around.

————————————

As the seasons changed and the leaves fell, she remained anxious. Damon had been more discrete with how he was watching her, but he didn’t let her forget that he was there.

One thing he did respect, her friends. Shortly after their conversation Elena suddenly started feeling much better.

The rosy cheeked brunette sat crisscross applesauce in front of her on the carpeted floor gushing about how sweet little human Liam had been busy getting her all her favourites when she was sick.

With Elena officially back to good health, it was time for a girl’s night. Caroline came through the door, three perfect margaritas on the tray in her hands. The floor was littered with different snacks, magazines and nail polishes that she carefully manoeuvred around.

“Guys, he got me flowers. Gorgeous roses. All the way from Kansas! He drove all that way to Mystic Falls!” The brunette fanned her face recollecting the memory.

Bonnie turned her face trying to conceal how her eyes automatically rolled at hearing that. So he drove all that way just to not even have gotten her flowers she actually liked? What a show off, the guy was just shoving into Stefan’s face how despite him taking Elena in, the older medical student was the one who got to bed her.

Not so concealed. Caroline had caught it and raised her perfectly plucked eyebrow, as if warning Bonnie to not upset her friend when she was finally feeling better.

Bonnie innocently smiled and turned back to face Elena. “Roses? I thought you liked lilies more?”

The girl shrugged, apparently satisfied with him bringing her flowers in general. Perhaps it would be a step up, rather than tormenting innocent people he was getting a girl some flowers. Maybe she should be less bothered by this. But she was just so on edge all the time. Wherever she looked she saw him.

She hadn’t told her friends. She didn’t want to give them anything else to worry about, their lives were so full of drama and sorrow already. I’m a Bennet witch. The women in my family didn’t need help, I will not be the first.

Trying to distract her mind, she grabbed her bag to rummage through them. “So I might have brought every DVD copy of Sex and the City. Wanna see how many we can watch before passing out?” She pulled out the thick stack of DVD’s and placed them in the middle of them on the floor.

The blonde seemed to think it was the best idea ever. “Yes! Yes! Absolutely yes Bonnie, god I love you!” A large open mouthed smile covered her face as she squealed and clapped in her hands like a little girl.

“Well that’s one,” Bonnie said.

Her other friend seemed to not feel the same way. An awkward smile adorned her face. “Ehh, yeah about that…”

Bonnie sighed, she could already feel it coming. She knew exactly what the brunette was about to say.

“Stefan is in a bit of trouble so I’m actually going to need us to go over there and help him out with some witchy-woo..”

The audacity of this girl

So not only was Elena ready to cut their girl’s night short because of a boy, but also she’d be expected to put in all the work. Again.

“No, absolutely not. Unless someone is dying I don’t want to. I’m exhausted, Elena. I can’t use my powers right now.” She had been running a constant protection spell, trying to evade any attempts Damon might make at harming her. And it came at a price.

The smile dropped from the girl’s lips. Elena apparently didn’t like when things weren’t an easy yes.

“C’mon Bon, don’t be so selfish. We could really use your help here,” Elena spat out.

“Selfish? Are you fucking kidding me?!”

She couldn’t take this anymore. She snatched the bag right up and started shoving her DVD’s back into it. “Do you have any idea how much I’ve given for you already? For this whole group of friends? I have no family, Elena. And you’re certainly not around to be there for me like I’m there for you. So excuse me if I don’t appreciate being called selfish.”

Everything seemed to come out like word vomit, it just wouldn’t stop. Her voice was sounding thick with tears trying not to fall.

“And all of this because you couldn’t stay away from some boys! And now you’re dating the worst one of them all! He is not only rude, he wouldn’t even accept you if you told him you are a vampire! Maybe people wouldn’t need saving all the time if they stopped hurting others expecting me to fix it,” the last words slipped out between her teeth as if she was hissing.

Elena backed up a bit, not used to seeing the Bennet witch so furious. Backing up did not mean she was scared though. She returned the same fire. “And here comes what you’re actually upset about, me dating Liam. You’re so judgemental Bonnie. You had a problem with me dating Stefan, then Damon and now Liam?? I’ve had a tough life too! I don’t need you looking down your nose for hanging around a guy who lives a little. Maybe you wouldn't care so much if you had anyone!”

The room went completely silent. You could hear a pin drop. It was as if everyone was holding their breaths waiting for Bonnie’s rebuttal.

“Live a little? Stefan fucking kills people, Elena. I get that that might seem normal now that most of the people in your life are vampires. But it is not. He treats human life as if it’s disposable! Caroline, back me up here.” Bonnie turned to the blonde , her eyes wide with frustration. Yet the same look was not found in the blue eyes returning her gaze. Caroline shook her head and sighed as she scratched at her nape.

“Honestly Bonnie, you are being a little judgemental. You never liked Liam or Damon or Stefan. And I’m sure we can continue movie night after we help out with this one little thing,” Caroline said.

Bonnie shook her head, almost as disappointed as disgusted. “I can’t believe you two.” She grabbed her stuff, yanked on her shoes and stormed outside. She did not want to be anywhere near those girls

————————————

It took no time to leave the dorm rooms. It was dark already but honestly she was willing to take any excuse to be out of that dorm. And right now that excuse was returning the DVD’s to the library. There was no way that those were getting watched anytime soon with what just went down.

Angry thoughts ran through her mind as she trudged down the dark path, her footsteps echoing in the empty fall night air.

I can’t believe them! I’ve given up so much and now I can’t even have an opinion anymore? All over boys. Maybe it’s time I take some distance.

She was so deep into thought she didn’t even notice the accelerated footsteps approaching her until it was too late. Hands roughly took a hold of her shoulders and mouth. A knife wedged itself right under her lowest ribs, not penetrating but reminding her it could.

“Heey missus, why don’t you show me what you have in that heavy bag there.” His breath was pungent, she could hear his heavy breathing right next to her ear.

Great. Because this is what I need.

During the daytime Whitmore prided itself on their tight security. Non-students truly had no way in. At night not so much. Which was proven by this no good drunk mugging her.

She tried to look around for help. No use. If there even was anyone outside at this hour, they wouldn’t see them through the thick bushes that covered the paths. And look at that, she managed to cross through one of very few badly lit sections of the campus. Aren’t witches supposed to be lucky?

She shrugged her shoulder bag down her arm and threw it on the floor. Even if there was any value in it, she was not willing to lose her life over it. Especially not on a day that already sucked so majorly.

The man dove onto the bag, plowing through its contents looking for something worth some money. His hands met a ridiculous amount of DVD’s, a lip balm she’d had since high school and possibly five dollars in coins.

He turned to her, a deep frown covering the entire top of his face. “Are you serious lady? You don’t have shit in here!” He stood back up and shoved her against the wall, now going through the pockets of her thin jacket. She tried to muster up any magic or even regular strength to fight him off but there was nothing.

Finding her wallet in the left pocket, he grabbed it and shook it upside down. A credit card fell out but apparently he was looking for cash, opting to take the ten dollar bill. “Big fancy school and this is all ya got?” This guy was just as unlucky as her, a school full of trust fund kids and he ran into the one girl working a shitty job as a barista to pay off her tuition.

“Well I’m leaving here with something.” She didn’t understand what that meant at first. He already had seen everything she had on her and nothing was high value. Even her phone was an older model. She didn’t understand until his fingers starting pawing at her skirt, trying to hike it up to get to her stockings. Immediately she resisted, screaming as her fingers scratched at his hands. “Please somebody help me!” The sound came out of her throat desperate, just to dissolve in the night as there was nobody to hear it.

She pushed at him but he had her pinned against the wall, his other hand working on unbuttoning her shirt. He was so heavy, no matter how hard she pushed there seemed to come no space between them.

And then suddenly his weight lifted off her, his hands away from her skin.

Skye-blue eyes were for once not on her. They were on the man squirming in the tight grip around his throat. Damon had come.

He shoved the man into the air, catching him right before he fell just to slam him down. The knife that had been tucked into the drunk’s jacket, found its way into Damon’s hands. It burrowed deep within the man’s side. Blood splattered onto the floor as Damon kept stabbing the hollering guy.

Damon stood up and kicked at the man's side. “Get up and kneel,” he sneered. The man weakly scrambled to his knees and faced her. Damon was right behind him, hands on the man’s shoulder. His thin T-shirt was absolutely soaked in blood already. As she watched his eyes darken and his fangs erupt she had a realization. Never before had she seen his vampire face. Not even when that one student fell and cracked their head open. Not even that pool of blood phased him. He was always perfectly in control.

Not now. Damon ripped into the man’s neck. His head was shaking like a rabid dog as he made a mess out of the arteries. Blood splattered and the heavy sounds of screams and panting filled the air, until his head came off.

Bonnie watched shell-shocked as Damon picked up the head and placed it in front of her. He allowed the man’s headless body to fall to the floor as he made his way closer to Bonnie.

Run. Run. Run

She tried so hard to get her body to move but it wouldn’t. She was frozen in place.

Surely this would be the night that he ended her life. This was what he had been building up towards. Hunter and prey. His animalistic vampire nature made him enjoy the hunt just as much. That’s why he killed the drunk, he was the only one allowed to torment her.

Except as he stopped right in front of her, he did not raise his hand to harm her. His finger gently stroked a strand of her hair that had escaped her bun in the struggle. She trembled under his touch, her rapid breathing revealing how scared she was. His eyebrows raised and as if he understood, he fell to his knees with his hands on the floor, palms turned out. He was showing her didn’t mean to hurt her too.

Damon Salvator just saved me.

She studied his face. The sharp features that seemed almost soft with the way he now was looking up at her, watching her reaction. Pale skin, smudged with blood. His mouth was a bloody mess, it had even gotten into his hair. Her fingers gently grabbed a hold of his chin as she turned his head to the side. To be able to fully study his face. He allowed it. As if he trusted her to be gentle with him.

Looking at him like this, so vulnerable in front of her. She just felt so… she just felt so hungry.

Bonnie lowered her face down, until it was only a few centimetres away from his. Her tongue peaked out of her mouth, curling to lick at the blood around his mouth. The blood of the man who had just tried to harm her. Damon’s mouth fell open, not expecting her to do that.

Tastes of copper and salt coated her mouth but she didn’t care. With a soft moan she crashed her mouth into Damon’s. He immediately responded, tongue eagerly seeking out hers. His arms circled her into a tight embrace as he pulled her into his lap.

Their tongues fought for dominance as she pushed herself down into him. She could feel his hard length through the thin material of her stockings. His large hands groped at her ass, squeezing the cheeks as he ground her down into his groin.

A moment of separation was permitted as she gasped for air. Clutching tightly onto him she licked the remaining blood off his face. Looking down she realised that if she was finally allowing herself to enjoy something she wasn’t supposed to, she’d go all the way. She pulled at his shirt, almost purring as she finally caught sight of the lean muscle hiding under. Like most witches Damon wasn’t bodybuilder-huge, but his body was strong.

His lips crashed back into hers, too impatient for such a long pause. She responded eagerly, fingers digging into shoulders as he ripped at the stockings covering her lower body. His hands catching a hold of the now bare cheeks. Two fingers sliding past them to dip into her warmth. Her jacket and shirt were the next victims to be abandoned on the floor. She wasn’t able to stand it anymore. She raised her hips to shove his sweatpants down far enough to take out his member. He guided her, holding her up by her hips so she could line up the impressive length with her sopping wet entrance. He thrusted up as she pushed down. “Fuckk…” She was so wet her pussy gave no resistance, perfectly wrapping around the large member.

Damon panted, pressing his lips against her bare shoulder as he fucked up into her. “I’ve wanted this for so long, Bonster you don’t get it,” it came out breathy. “Shut up,” Bonnie answered and kissed him again to shut him up. Her rudeness was met with punishment. He held his hands under her cheeks as he leaned against the wall, using the leverage to pound away into her defenceless body. Her eyes rolled back into her head as he hit her g-spot over and over. Sounds somewhere between moans and screams left her mouth, interrupted by gasping for air as she scratched at his chest trying to make him stop. It only seemed to egg him on, his thumb playing with her clit.

“I’m-I’m gonna cum K-Damon,” she stuttered out. Her looks were shaking as she tried to hold on. Hearing she was going to finish finally made him stop. She whined as he pulled his leaking cock out of her and gently laid her down on the floor. He shoved the dead body aside but it was no use, the floor was covered in his blood but so was she now as was her sex partner.

She wishes she could say that it turned her off, but it didn’t. He was going to make her cum on top of the blood of her enemies and it only excited her more. Her pussy squeezed, looking for something to fill it back up. Damon chuckled. “So eager for more huh. I want you to finish on my dick but before that I went to taste you.”

Bonnie hadn’t even processed what he just said before he grabbed her thighs and spread them, his head taking place in between them. This had never been done to her before. Sure she fooled around a bit with Jeremy, but he had never been bold enough to do something such as eat her out. Damon had no problem with that.

His tongue licked up the entirety of her wet cunt tasting every bit of her essence before playing with the little bud. His tongue prodded at her clit, licking around the perimeter before his lips came together to suck on it. “Oh my god!” She explained as her fingers tangled into his hair. She couldn’t handle the sensation, spreading her thighs wider as she pushed his head away. The male didn’t allow it, only burrowing his head in further as he ate it until she was on the verge of tears.

Finally he left her sensitive twitching privates alone, so close to finishing yet so abused already. He kissed up her body, starting at the top of her pussy until he reached her boobs. He placed soft sweet kisses all over until he met the hard brown nipples that he had already spotted through her shirt weeks ago. His tongue twirled around them until closed his lips around the little bud. He sucked on them, his tongue playing with them. Her breath halted as she watched him play with both her nipples, his fingers plowing in and out of her hungry pussy.

“C’mon Damon stop playing around,” it came out almost whiny despite her trying so hard to sound angry. Damon opened his eyes to look up at her, allowing the titty to fall from his mouth as he answered “Tell me what you want and I’ll do it.” She blushed deeply. Suddenly feeling shy. “You know what I want. I don’t need to say it.” He shook his head disapprovingly. “So shy Bonster, just say you want me to fuck you silly some more.” She gasped and hit his back but slowly nodded. His smirk grew wider, she could see his sharp canines glistening in the dimmed light.

No time was wasted, he wrapped her legs tightly around his waist and entered her again in one swipe of his hips. Her wet depth almost suctioned his length in, tightly holding him deep inside of her.

Their joint gasps and moans filled the night sky as he filled her over and over. Their bodies soaked in the blood of her attacker. By the time dawn started to break her vagina was left a wet mess of both their fluids leaking out.
