Exam week was always hell, even for Lara Croft.
She was hunched over her desk, on her third cup of coffee, several books and papers scattered around her. She knew her education was important, but damn did this suck. Plus she still had work in the evening...
What I wouldn't give for a damn break. A reasonable break.
Immediately she cursed herself for even thinking that. Her friend Sam seemed to have a sixth sense into her thoughts. Not even two minutes later, said friend burst into her room. "Lara!" She sang, dragging out the last 'A'. "We're leaving!"
"Excuse me?" Lara asked, groaning.
"Yep!" The black haired woman grinned. "You need a break, and so do I, so we're going out for lunch. Right now."
"Sam-"
"Don't argue Croft!" Sam scolded. "You and I both know you haven't eaten anything yet."
Fair point.
As if to personally call her out, her own stomach grumbled. "Fine..." She huffed, shutting her book.
"Yes! I just found the best place too, let's go!" Sam laughed. She shot forward and planted a kiss on Lara's cheek, a little closer to her lips than usual. Lara's face exploded in red. "Get dressed, sweetie!"
The brunette gently touched her cheek where her friend kissed, starstruck. Exams were the last thing on her mind now. She wanted another kiss.
