"There is no need to be running, Emilyko, unless it's an urgent matter." Kate said to Emilyko, who was catching her breath, hands on her hips, while they stood in the middle of the private study.
"No worries, no urgent matter, Miss Kate, I just thought I was late." Emilyko sighed, wiping the sweat off her brow, and she then stood up straight, trying in vain to play it cool.
"Late for what?"
"I thought you'd be elsewhere, then I'd be late, but I'm glad you're here."
"Well, you already finished the laundry and the cleaning, correct?" Kate asked, crossing her arms.
"I sure did, Miss Kate." Emilyko nodded, her hands behind her back.
"So why did you run to get back here in such great haste?" Kate asked, her head tilted, hoping for an answer.
"Oh, I just wanted to see you, because I couldn't wait to tell you…"
"Tell me what?"
"I wanted to tell you that you are very special to me, and I thought you'd like to hear that, that's all." Emilyko replied, a sincere smile on her face. "And in fact, you should hear that more often."
Kate stilled, and she couldn't help but feel a smile growing on her face. "Why, thank you, Emilyko, that does mean quite a lot to hear, especially from you."
Emilyko beamed, her eyes sparkling. "I'm so glad, Miss Kate."
Kate let out a soft laugh, and then walked over, soon wrapping her arms around Emilyko, gently holding her close. "You're special to me as well, Emilyko, remember that."
Emilyko blinked, and she returned the embrace, nuzzling her face in the crook of Kate's shoulder.
"Don't worry, I will."
