The Shounen Tantei were stuck between looking at the high schoolers they were with and Conan. To be fair, Conan hadn't exactly stopped staring at one of the teenagers since they were introduced. And they all noticed a slight blush coloring their friend's cheeks. It wasn't one of those embarrassed blushes he got when they've gotten got doing something at a crime scene that they shouldn't have or when they embarrassed him and getting denials about it. No, this was more subtle.
They doubted the teenagers would notice from how tall they were in comparison.
"He's still blushing," Ayumi whispered, eyes still focused on Conan whose expression could only be described as dreamy. That was such a weird thing to think about with Conan. He didn't get dreamy expressions on his face.
"You're right, he's not very focused on their conversation either." Mitsuhiko murmured, his own eyes narrowed. He couldn't help but think the expression Conan had almost made him look ill, but they all knew that wasn't it, otherwise he wouldn't be there with them.
Genta grumbled, "Should we knock him out of it? Surely they would have noticed he's been staring up at them this whole time."
Haibara finally spoke up, looking unconcerned over the whole affair even if her eyes were still trained on Conan. "We could, but then we'll have to deal with him if he starts thinking about his crush."
The three turned to stare at Haibara with their mouths gaped open. She stared back at them, blinking as it registered that they didn't realize why he had that expression on his face. Haibara smirked. "You didn't think he was just looking like that, did you?"
Turning her attention back to Conan, who by now had grabbed onto Ran's pants as he continued to stare at the teenagers. His eyes were focused on the man with messy hair. She hummed, staring at the male. That man was definitely a trickster, and did magic. Haibara looked back at Conan, seeing that he was still clutching the blue rose that had been given to him when they had been introduced. She narrowed her eyes as she glanced between the two.
It did seem a bit odd that he was the only one to get a rose, but that could have been the vague compliment toward Kaito KID that he had given when the man had brought up being a magician, much to his friends chagrins. That conversation didn't last past that when the other two started to get riled up at just the mention of the thief.
Haibara smirked. Conan had secretly told her that he may have gotten a crush on the thief at some point during their encounters. She wasn't going to do anything about it, but this was such an opportune moment, that she couldn't resist.
"Edogawa-kun is very entranced by his crush."
It took the three to stare at Conan and up to the teenage magician he hadn't stopped staring at for the pieces to click in their brains.
"HUH!?"
Haibara stayed back as they rounded on Conan, pulling him out of his staring as they pulled him away from the teens.
"Conan-kun! You can't have a crush on a teenager!" As much as Mitsuhiko tried to keep his voice low, it was still loud enough to grab the attention of said teenager.
The subtle blush that had covered Conan's cheeks exploded, his eyes going wide as he gaped at them, mouth moving as he tried to speak. He sputtered, "I do not!"
"That blush says otherwise," Genta said, poking Conan in the cheek to prove his point.
The blush expanded, Conan's whole face almost completely red in his embarrassment.
"It's not like that!"
It was Ayumi's turn to butt in, "Then why have you been staring at one of them with a dreamy look on your face!?" She planted her hands on her hips, staring Conan down.
Even without Haibara getting involved, he knew he was outnumbered. Conan's attempt to run failed spectacularly as the three tackled him before he could get far.
Haibara just stared at the child pile, Conan's muffled scream sounding from under the three children. She looked up at the teenagers, holding up her hands as she shrugged at their questioning looks.
