Title: Even more cool spots in Shibuya #8!!
Entry: #023
Date: 20XX July 15th
Howdy Hey Everyone! It's that time and place again where Shibuya's biggest long-time expert (coming right after Shichi-kun of course!) gets to tell you about some fun sights worth checking out in our wonderful neighborhood!! Usually I can't help but yap on and on about Shibuya, but I'll try to keep this one short :>
1st—Dine at the All-You-Can-Eat Buffet! Recently a good friend of mine took me there for the first time, and it was totally wooftastic! They have a great big hulking collection of different foods, many of which aren't even from Japan! I don't usually go to buffets or restaurants, but I made sure to get the full experience by stacking my plate fulla meat and yummy desserts, definitely recommend visiting if you bring a pal and can stomach it all!
2nd—go to an Exclusive Movie Screening! Currently the Shibuya Theater (which I've talked about on here in the past) is doing an early screening of "Deplorable Me", an action/comedy film meant of families and audiences of all ages! I'm usually not personally into these types of movies, but this one was super fun to watch! The heist scenes were top-notch cool, so I'd totally recommend nabbing some popcorn and watching it early in theaters with friends for some good fun!
3rd—Come play at the Arcade's Claw Machines! Recently the arcade across from the gym added another cabinet. And guess what?? It's full of some Shichi-kun plushies!! Wait one moment, Shichi-kun says he also wants to say something about this. What's this Shichi-kun? You're telling me inside the claw machine is an all new limited edition plush of you? And he's also wearing an equally cute but rad pair of shades too OAO?!?!
4th—Support local Artists! Everyone knows about the variety of street performers all around Tokyo, from dancers to magicians to even puppeteers! But in my humble opinion Shibuya has some of the best and most talented! My favorite is a guitarist right across from Shichi-kun's regular location, she has a nice voice and we both think she's super cool (maybe even cooler than Shichi-kun-in-shades kinda cool)! While Shichi-kun is helping promote Shibuya like any good mascot should, he can't help but feel extra joyful when those starting notes start playing, his tail was even wagging extra when she looked his way and waved today! Deffo make sure to look out for her, you should be able to hear her play outside the station on most days that Shichi-kun is out. Anyway, me and Shichi-kun are huge fans of any performers who regularly go the Shibuya, and you should too!

Taking a short break since it's quieter right now. Today's been quite successful so far, slightly slow but I'm still very happy, got enough money from passerby's to purchase about four whole cups of coffee, not that I'd drink that many of course…
Pretty darn good for only an hour or two, if it were sustainable I'd genuinely consider performing on the street over working my job. That'd be pretty nice, huh? Though I'm content with things as they are, the nice people I see everyday always make me happy, without any incentive to make any extra cash.
Today I met a schoolgirl some years younger than me that was walking by with a dour face, perhaps a crush rejected her or she flunked a math test , I know I've been there.., but she lit up as soon as she heard me play. The girl lingered around for maybe two or three songs but was too shy to say anything, that's okay, she was glad to listen and I was glad to play for her, especially when she awkwardly waved goodbye. It makes me so pleased to think my music can reach others like that and make them feel happy too. Gives me a lot of confidence about my ability to play.
Lately I think my singing's been getting better, more people stay to listen. Which is good, I'm very thankful, but I do feel more comfortable when the crowd is a little on the smaller side. I hope saying this won't bite me later but sometimes its even nice when nobody's around, or just everyone's busy going one place or another, makes me feel a little more free, like I can carry my voice further.
Though I guess in a weird way, even when nobody stays to watch, it feels like at least someone still is. In fact, I think he's looking at me right now. The big dumb-looking doofus that perpetually prances around Shibuya like he's living the dream.
While I can't remember a time where Shibuya didn't have Shichi-kun, I partially wish we had a different mascot instead. I'd rather be looking at a cat practically every day, dogs are nice but cats appeal to me more for some reason, though I suppose a cat mascot would moreso be Yanaka's vibe if anything.
Alright, back on track. The mutt's still looking my way. I don't hate him or anything maybe only projecting a little that I wish Shibuya had a cuter mascot, but he'd creep me out less without those soulless black eyes and wide gaping mouth. Why is it that he's staring at me anyway? I'm not currently playing or anything.. perhaps I'm imagining it…
I think he noticed I was looking back, to be nice gave him a wave just now. Even though his lifeless expression remains unchanging I think he liked it, did a cute little jump in response, perhaps I was mistaken about Shichi. There do happen to be a few times where I like to imagine he's my biggest fan, attending every one of my performances and seeing all the tiny embarrassing errors I make, but also all the little successes and smiles I bring to peoples faces, just like that girl today.
Oh, I've been writing this entry for longer than usual, it seems to be nearing rush hour so I should get back to playing.
