Work Text:
It started with Rumi, after the idol awards.
A lot had changed in the penthouse once Rumi was finally free to show her patterns to the girls. Simple things at first, becoming more touchy, showing more skin, a little confidence boost, and a lot more teary eyed conversations. So much they all wanted to have said over the years finally spilling over, strengthening the new honmoon and their bonded souls forever.
Then however, things started getting weird. Rumi had developed some new quirks involving her demon anatomy. The most prominent of which being fangs.
Having a teething half demon girlfriend running around your apartment was sexy and fun up to a point, but it came with many downsides. Scratch and bite marks that needed to be buffed out of their marble countertops, rips in important accessories and outfits for designer promos. It wasn’t like the girls couldn’t afford to deal with these issues, but it proved to be a worthy trade off foe sheer awesomeness of having a powerful and beautiful force of nature like Rumi living amongst them. (Zoey’s words.)
They, of course, loved to tease Rumi about it. Zoey compared her to a cat a lot at first, especially when they discovered she could purr. They'd been cuddling on the couch when they felt a strange vibration throughout the honmoon. At first they’d been startled, thinking that the demons had somehow found a way to break through. It didn't take much for them to realize; it was reacting more like their old honmoon would when it resonated with their song. And surprise surprise, they’d traced the sound back to Rumi in their lap. Purring happily, half asleep while clinging to Mira’s shirt.
But the comparisons naturally shifted to more dog-like when other behaviors of Rumi made themselves known. Some a product of her demon nature, and some that had been there from the start. Like her pout. Rumi loved to pout when she didn’t get her way. She wasn’t called a princess of pop for nothing. Her girls completely and utterly spoiled her, which made it easy for her to throw fits when they weren’t paying her adequate attention.
Which led to her second behavior, waiting around for them to come back when they left.
Rumi could easily keep herself busy. She was a workaholic at heart. But after the events of the idol awards and the new stability of the honmoon, all the girls agreed to take an extra long hiatus to get used to all of the changes that seemed to make themselves known every day. Rumi wasn’t used to all of this free time. She didn’t really have many hobbies outside of work. She tried to use the time to sharpen some of her lesser known skills she had neglected over the years, (dancing, speaking French, playing guitar) but there were so many hours of the day, and they flew by most effectively when she was spending time with Zoey and Mira.
Which led to the very adorable and very comedic scene of Zoey finding Rumi laying outside her door, pouting and whining for her to come out. Zoey had locked herself in for the day to play call of duty and ramble song ideas on stream for the fans. But in the faint distance the most observant members of her stream noticed the faint but distinct cry of Rumi throwing a tantrum. After about half an hour of her flailing and whining, Zoey decided to cut her losses and let her in to stream with her, even though she was notoriously terrible at acting normal around cameras and prying eyes in their house. Sure enough, Rumi just sat politely on her bed almost eerily still until Zoey ended her stream.
“Why did you even want to be in here if you were just going to go statue mode on my camera. You acted more cryptid-like than the Dr. Pepper man.” Zoey teased.
Rumi tilted her head in confusion in an adorable way. Like a German shepherd trying to locate a certain strange sound. “Who’s that?”
“Nobody, it doesn’t matter. But seriously, you’re so fussy Ru. What are we gonna do with you?”
Rumi flopped over on Zoey’s bed, purring contently as Zoey begrudgingly gave her all of her attention. “You love me.”
“Yeah I do, you big ol’ puppy.” Zoey hummed, giving Rumi a playful scratch under her chin, which she was surprisingly receptive to. Her patterns flickered and glowed in an array of warm and happy colors.
Things began to change a bit after many nights like that. Slowly Rumi began to get more comfortable with her more feral demon tendencies around the girls. And Zoey in particular was all too happy to encourage it. Mira of course also found it adorable, and her fangs and claws were sick as heck. It took a lot of coaxing to get Rumi to use them more in their sex life, but after many more tears and talks and sweet reassurances it became another happy addition to their new normal.
Then Zoey bought Rumi a collar. Mira wasn’t entirely sure if it was a joke at first, but the following hot and heavy night where Zoey clicked the purple fabric and metal on a half naked Rumi shifted something inside of her. Something a bit wild and feral but also sweet and timid at the same time. Needless to say, it was a big hit. The collar looked fantastic on Rumi, the color perfectly matching her hair and causing a gorgeous glow from her patterns on the reflective metal tag with their initials engraved on it. Her labored breaths as she leaned back against Mira’s stomach, while Zoey playfully tugged on the collar and decorated her collarbone and chest with hickies, it was the start of something new and extremely exciting.
Rumi gradually started wearing the collar outside of sex as well. At first just timidly asking if she could keep it on during aftercare, occasionally sleeping with it on. Despite Zoey and Mira’s warnings that it would rub wrong against her skin.
Then Mira caught her wearing it around the kitchen one day as she was rummaging around for leftovers.
“What? It’s cute, and it feels nice. It’s not a big deal.” Rumi pouted when confronted.
This, combined with her demon behaviors, has essentially turned their great and almighty leader into their personal lap dog over time. And honestly, Mira and Zoey weren’t complaining. Rumi was learning how to relax and be more comfortable around her girls, and Zoey and Mira got to tease and cuddle up to their girlfriend more. With the newfound pride of ownership overtaking them any time they saw Rumi proudly walking around the penthouse with her collar.
However, just because it started with Rumi didn’t mean it ended there. And that’s when the problem began.
Rumi was in Zoey’s lap. In an oversized T-shirt, shorts, and her collar. Purring away without a care in the world as Zoey pet her head, occasionally scratching under her chin on rubbing her hands over her back. Mira was next to them, trying to choose a movie to put on the TV while they cuddled. Rumi made her promise not to choose something with an absurd amount of jump scares. But she figured she could probably get away with a good slasher film.
Rumi nuzzled closer into Zoey’s neck, sighing contently. It made Mira huff a bit. She was so spoiled.
“Awwh, you jealous Mir? Come over here and cuddle with us.” Zoey cooed. Mira rolled her eyes, but put down the remote to curl up against Zoey and Rumi. Still feeling awkwardly left out until Zoey stretched an arm around her back to squish her further into her two girlfriends.
Zoey for the most part, cuddled Mira like she always did. A hand lazily draped over her stomach, leaning her head lean against her. But as the movie went on, Zoey seemed to get a bit distracted. And her wandering hand on Mira’s shoulder came up to scratch Mira under the chin from muscle memory.
Mira leaned into the gesture, shutting her eyes and sighing sweetly, which caught Zoey’s attention. It had been a complete accident that she was petting Mira like an animal instead of Rumi, but not only did Mira not seem to mind, she barely even noticed.
Zoey hummed in delight. Taking quiet pleasure in seeing Mira’s sharp demeanor and features melt in the palm of Zoey’s hand like Rumi’s did. The normally very scary and sarcastic bombshell became so pliant and soft, needless to say it was a holy sight.
Cuddling on the couch resumed like normal for the rest of the night, but there was something new and unspoken between the girls now. All three of them noticed what happened, and how important that information was to them would make itself known at later dates. Rumi was pretty out of it at the time, but Zoey definitely had that scene engraved in a special part of her brain now. And Mira wasn’t entirely sure how to handle the situation.
At first she brushed it off, thinking it was just the normal girlfriend cuddling shenanigans. But there was also something else there. A little curious itch in the back of her mind that was seemingly scratched by Zoey petting her that night. She had gotten very good throughout the years at letting her girls care for her. They always gave her space to exist in the ways she was most comfortable, and in return they both had her eternal love and devotion. But there was an extra level of attentiveness and care Mira felt when Zoey cooed over her. It almost made Mira feel embarrassed. But it wasn’t strange for her to admit to herself that it felt nice.
She had never considered herself to be “owned” by her girls before. Her family throughout her entire life had tried to do nothing but control her. She never saw a name or a title as a sense of pride. Only a burden or a sense of tension or malice. But the more she thought about it, the more she knew she would do anything for Zoey and Rumi. They were undeniably her people. She loved to cook for them, and protect them and do their makeup. Anything she could to make their lives easier, or just make them smile. Anything to keep them close to her, she loved to see the rosey hue rise in their cheeks as they smiled at her and complimented her hard work. If they asked her to jump off of a cliff for their own amusement, Mira would hurl herself faster than any Olympic track runner in nationals.
So in a way, she could certainly argue Mira was owned. She was certainly a kept woman, but she was a little more than that. Her devotion to her girls was not for nothing. They provided her with constant safety and security. A home. Not just a house with shiny edges and cold unyielding criticism, but a warm and safe home full of laughter and love. Unconventional yes, but a family nonetheless. A weird happy family Mira would lay down her life for.
Remembering all of this, how different Zoey and Rumi were from her family and just how happy they made her, the concept of being owned no longer made Mira feel a sinking rock sensation in her stomach. Rather, it filled her with a strange warmth that spread across her whole body. Safety? Perhaps. Pride? Probably not. Love? Definitely.
So she started looking at collars. Not anything definite of course. It was just a case of mild more like major curiosity. She found a lot of them in pretty pink hues, ones that would match her hair like Rumi’s. She wanted something that was undeniably hers. Just like she was undeniably theirs.
It was casual browsing. Though it certainly didn’t look like it from the expensive brands she was looking at. Maybe she should get one from the same place they got Rumi’s. But that would unfortunately require asking Zoey where she got Rumi’s collar. And Mira was nowhere near ready for that conversation.
Mira yelped and dropped the tablet when she felt a sharp sting on her leg.
“Rumi! Hey! Stop it, no biting!” Mira shrieked. Rumi looked up at her from her place on the floor she was idly napping. She had her collar on, and apparently decided Mira’s leg was her chew toy. Mira pulled her leg away and playfully smacked Rumi a bunch when she decided she got to close.
“Whas goin on?” Zoey slurred out as she appeared from her room. She had just taken her third afternoon nap after pulling a creativity and energy drink fueled all nighter.
“Rumi’s biting me. Stay BACK!” Mira shouted again when Rumi tried to get up on the couch next to her, giving her another swat. Which made Zoey giggle.
“You’re batting at her like a cat, Mira. It’s adorable.” Zoey snickered as she plopped herself down on the couch next to them. “Rumi, be nice. No biting.”
Mira’s face flushed. “Well what else am I supposed to do? She’s the one nipping at my ankles like a herding dog.”
“Awh but she’s such a cutie, Mir. How could you stay mad at her?” Zoey gave Rumi a loving scratch on her scalp, causing her to purr.
Mira huffed. “I’m cute too. You just spoil her.” She rolled her eyes. While also subtly petting Rumi, away from her bitey mouth.
Zoey gave her a mischievous look. Like she knew something Mira didn’t. Or maybe she was just imagining something that pleased her. “Do you wanna be spoiled, Mira?”
Mira’s blush deepened. “You guys already spoil me.” She mumbled, trying not to give anything away. Zoey gave her a smug look.
“Yeah I know. But you know there’s no shame in wanting more, right?” Zoey teased, poking Mira’s cheek.
“I do know that, Zoey.” Mira said. A half truth, Mira always knew her girls wanted to give her everything. But she already felt so loved and appreciated. Asking for more felt…wrong.
“Rumi, she’s brooding. Sic her!” Zoey shouted. Before Mira can register what’s happening, Rumi full force pounces on her into the couch. Peppering her face with kisses.
“Rumi! Get off! I’m not brooding.” Mira whines. Rumi doesn’t listen, she just nuzzles closer into Mira and growls. Rendering Mira completely immobile.
Zoey laughs at the display, snapping a quick picture for her lock screen. Her eyes then dart to the abandoned tablet next to Mira.
“Oooh hey, did you manage to import super monkey ball on this thing?” Zoey asks, turning the tablet on. Mira shot up from the bed, Rumi still clung onto her shirt. “Wait! Zoey-“
Mira groaned as she realized it was already too late. Trying to use Rumi as a human shield from her embarrassment.
“Miiiraaaaaa.” Zoey sing-songed.
“No.”
“Awh cmon, baby. Don’t be embarrassed.” Zoey giggled.
“What is it, Zo?” Rumi peaked her head over to the tablet curiously.
“Aww Mira, you were looking at collars?” Rumi smiled. “You should have told us jagiya. We can get you a nice shiny collar if you want.” Mira’s face went a deeper red as she whined in embarrassment.
“Yeah, it can match Rumi’s!” Zoey squealed, already pulling up a second tab on the tablet. She instantly googled the company name Mira had spent hours silently searching for.
“Guyssss. That’s not what I was doing. I swear.” Mira’s voice cracked as she spoke. An easy sign to tell if she’s lying. As Icey as her demeanor was, she couldn’t straight face a lie for shit.
Zoey pouted. “You don’t want one? But you would look so pretty Mir. You’ve seen how good Rumi looks in hers.”
Rumi puffed out her chest a little in pride. “It’s true.”
“You guys seem strangely okay with this.” Mira said off handedly. Zoey and Rumi just gave her a curious look.
“Well it’s something you want right? I don’t see a problem with it. You both were really nice to me when I said I wanted to wear my collar around the house more.”
Mira rolled her eyes. “Yeah I know. But this is different. It’s kind of a weird change. I don’t know how it would affect things.”
“I mean, it didn’t change much in my life. I’m still the leader of Huntrix, I still do everything I normally do with you two. It’s just…nice sometimes. To let go and relax, you know?” Rumi said, reaching out to rub Mira’s back comfortingly.
“Yeah I do know. I don’t know why I feel so embarrassed about this. I’m sorry guys.”
“Heeeey it’s okay Mira. We love you no matter what. You know that.” Zoey says, pressing a giant smushing kiss to her face.
“Yeah yeah, I love you dorks too.” Mira resigned. Zoey was already back to looking at pink collars online. Way too excited for all of this in Mira’s opinion.
—-
Mira tightened the collar around her throat, still not satisfied with the way it was fitting. Zoey swatted her hand away.
“If you put it on too tight it’ll choke you or leave a nasty mark. Here, let me.” Zoey hummed, going behind Mira to fasten the buckle. Mira felt a comfortable warmth bloom in her chest and stomach as she heard the metal click into place. As well as a slight buzz in the back of her mind.
“Feels good, doesn’t it.” Rumi hummed as she hugged Mira behind. She has her collar on as well, perhaps in solidarity. Or maybe she already had it on today before she came home. Mira’s throat went dry.
“Yeah…it feels…nice.” Mira sighed. Zoey cupped her face in her hands.
“Such a pretty girl. All nice and collared for us.” Zoey praised. Mira breathed deep and leaned into the gesture, her gaze narrowed in on Zoey.
“Cmon you two, let’s go cuddle on the couch. We want to give our new pet a niiiiice welcome home, don’t you think Rumi?” Rumi nodded up and down frantically, darting to the couch as fast as she could. Zoey gently followed behind Mira as she began to walk, her hand lovingly placed at her neck at all times. Mira sheepishly followed the excited Rumi.
The second Zoey sat on the couch she positioned Mira to be on her lap and sweetly ran her hands through her hair. Mira could definitely get used to this. She curled up closer to Zoey, trying to fully relax like intended. But then she felt sharp teeth graze her arm, which made her jump back.
“Rumi! Bad girl, no biting.” Zoey scolded. Mira swatted at her again, which made Rumi whine.
“And you! No hitting. You have to be nice.” Zoey scolded the pink haired girl on her lap.
“What! But she-“ Mira started, bewildered.
“If Rumi acts up I will handle it. You just sit here and look pretty for me, okay pet?” Zoey asked, giving Mira a little scratch under her chin. Mira huffed, but leaned in anyway. Helpless to the way Zoey was handling her, despite the blatant unfairness of the situation.
Rumi huffed with annoyance. Mira was clearly in her spot. She wasn’t trying to hurt her, the nips were just a reminder. And she really wanted to bite something. Mira’s toned arms and legs just happened to give in a satisfying way under her teeth.
“I want a turn in Zoey’s lap.” Rumi whined, knowing if she bit Mira again she would get in trouble.
“Be patient, puppy. Mira’s new here remember? We want her to get comfortable.”
Rumi huffed, but complacently stood down. Zoey continued. “If you’re good and you don’t bite, you can get a turn okay?”
Rumi nodded, hope filling in her eyes with that. Zoey giggled, squeezing Mira closer into her. “You wanna try petting her?”
Mira’s face went impossibly red, terrified at the sudden attention. Zoey just held her tighter so she wouldn’t squirm, not that Mira protested for very long, as Rumi ran her hands softly in her hair, reaching up to pet her scalp.
It felt good. Really good. Both of her girlfriends petted her and held her like a skittish animal. The pressure on her chest from Zoey’s arms should have felt restricting, but they instead felt comforting. Like she had no choice but to stay and accept all of the unconditional love they had to give her. Mira felt her muscles relax under their touch as her breathing evened out.
“Good girl.” Zoey praised. That did Mira in, she almost felt herself melt into the couch entirely. Rumi chuckled, cupping Mira’s face in her hand, then gently moving her head to the side to nuzzle into Mira’s neck. The gesture was suspicious, but Mira accepted it anyway, too blissed out to even consider Rumi might be tempted to bite her again.
“There you go, see? You can be sweet and get along. My gorgeous pets.” Zoey happily remarked. If Mira could purr like Rumi, she would. Everything at that moment felt so perfect. Rumi always ran hot, she felt like a heated blanket draped over Mira like this. And Zoey was still holding her from behind, securing her in place that made Mira feel safe to almost completely ragdoll in the girl's arms. But as she let her guard down, she felt a suspicious poke at her neck. Then a sharp sting, which made Mira jump back with a yelp.
“She bit me again!!” Mira exclaimed, giving Rumi a harsh glare. Rumi looked pitiful and hurt in response, despite her blatantly causing this problem.
“Rumi! I told you not to bite!” Zoey chastised. Rumi in response turned her gaze even more pitiful. Making her eyes as wide and watery as they could be from the other side of the couch. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” Rumi mumbled.
Zoey came over to her and cupped her face gently, causing the teary eyed purple haired girl to purr. “It’s okay Rumi.” Zoey said as she stroked her cheek.
“It is NOT okay!” Mira hissed. “You keep her far away from me. I don’t trust her.” She huffed, placing herself on the other far end of the couch.
Zoey sighed. “I have to go get something. You two behave while I’m gone, okay?”
Mira grumbled. Rumi nodded, pleased she got her way yet again. Mira refused to even look at her smug face as Zoey left, still rubbing her hurt neck with her hand as she stewed quietly in the corner.
Zoey reappeared again with something jingling at her side. Mira pretended she didn’t notice, trying to ignore Zoey for taking Rumi’s side. Rumi tilted her head to the side, trying to see what Zoey had in her hands.
“Ruuuuuuumi. Come here girl.” Zoey exclaimed as she patted her legs, encouraging Rumi forward like a dog. Rumi ran over to Zoey, excited to see what she had.
Mira could only watch gobsmacked as Zoey presented Rumi with a black muzzle. Which instantly stuck fear into Rumi’s eyes.
“Now puppy…” Zoey said gently, tilting Rumi’s chin up as she pouted. “You’ve been struggling a lot with biting lately. So I bought this to help you, baby.”
Rumi huffed and looked away, but Zoey gently led back her gaze to the muzzle for her to examine it.
“You can say no, but look. There’s a piece of leather inside for you to bite down on. That should help you with your fangs. Doesn’t that sound nice?”
Rumi grumbled. It did sound nice, but it would be nicer if she could bite her girlfriends. But she didn’t want to make Mira mad again. So she hesitantly nodded.
“Good girl. Don’t worry, you can take it off anytime if you’re feeling uncomfortable. Here, let me slip it on.”
Zoey praised as she fastened the back of the muzzle to the back of Rumi’s head. It was a new and strange sensation to Rumi. And it felt a bit heavy on the front of her face. Rumi gnawed on the leather piece that was meant to go in her mouth as Zoey adjusted the straps on the back of her head and moved her braid out of the way.
It wasn’t her girlfriend's skin, but it was nice. The leather was tough and didn’t rip under her sharp teeth. The itch in her gums felt more satisfied as she contently chewed on the piece. Zoey smiled, directing her to come sit back on the couch.
“See Mira? Rumi’s not going to bite you again. Let’s get back to cuddling.” Zoey said. Mira however, was not so easily convinced.
“No way. I’m still mad at her.” Mira grumbled, unmoving from her position. Zoey frowned.
“Rumi, I think Mira needs an apology. Can you say you're sorry for biting her?” Zoey asked. Rumi came forward on the couch, cautiously approaching Mira.
“Am thory Mira.” Rumi said through the muzzle, it was muffled and jarbled, but pretty clear in terms of intention.
“Apology not accepted.” Mira snipped. Rumi whined. Zoey shook her head. “Mira, be nice.”
“I will not! I don’t owe her anything.” Mira huffed, scooting closer to the edge of the couch and crossing her arms.
Zoey’s eyes narrowed. “Mira, don’t be a brat. You can be angry, but you can’t cuddle with us unless you agree to be nice to Rumi.”
Mira rolled her eyes. “Fine.” Zoey smiled, patting her lap for Mira to come back over to her. Which Mira certainly wasn’t going to complain about. She crawled into Zoey’s lap again. Trying to relax as Zoey pet her. But it didn’t help that a muzzled Rumi was eyeing her constantly. She glared at her, which Zoey noticed. Causing her to jostle her shoulder where she sat.
“Hey, none of that. Bad girl.” Zoey scolded. Mira didn’t know why, but that scolding made her want to curl into herself. She wasn’t being bad, so why was Zoey chastising her.
After a little while more of cuddling, Mira wasn’t entirely sure how long Zoey motioned for her to get up. “I have to go to the bathroom. You two get along while I’m gone, okay? Then it’ll be your turn to snuggle with me, okay Rumi?” Rumi nodded enthusiastically. Mira nodded as well.
Now alone on the couch, Mira went back to ignoring Rumi. Which made her whine. Mira tried not to pay attention, but it was hard when Rumi was nudging her with her muzzled head, trying to get Mira to look at her.
Mira reluctantly looked over to see Rumi’s big brown eyes peering back up at her. She felt kind of bad. As much as she didn’t want to encourage bad behavior, Rumi was harmless to her now. She carefully brought up a hand to pet the purple haired girl. Rumi responded by pouncing on her immediately.
Mira squirmed under Rumi, complaining that she couldn’t move. This only seemed to encourage Rumi further, wrapping herself around Mira and pulling her close. The cold metal of her muzzle prodding Mira’s stomach as Rumi settled down. She was in a position that encouraged Mira to lay down on top of her to be comfortable, so Mira did just that. It felt sort of nice cuddling like this. The way Rumi was spooning her made her feel the familiar feeling that she got when Zoey squeezed her. Mira leaned back against Rumi, resting her head on top of hers. Like a dog and a cat snuggling together in cold weather. The position was slightly uncomfortable, but the warm fuzzy feelings it made Mira feel made up for it ten fold.
Mira and Rumi both perked up when they heard a camera shudder. Zoey had returned, and had already snapped another photo for her Lock Screen. Internally debating which one of the ones she took would go on which page of her phone. “My sweet girls.” She giggled. “Did you two make up when I was gone?”
Rumi nodded enthusiastically through the muzzle, being unable to speak due to the metal object. Mira however, even with her free voice nodded as well. She didn’t feel like she needed to speak right now. Or do anything really. It was odd how relaxed she felt in this state. But she didn’t fight it. Knowing this was kind of the point. Was this how Rumi usually felt when she had her collar on?
“Awwwh good. This means we can all cuddle now. Rumi, do you want to get up so you can sit on my lap now? You look pretty comfy.” Zoey asks. Rumi doesn’t even try to talk through the muzzle. She lets out an odd growl as she pulls Mira closer into her, which startles Mira a bit, but also makes her feel nice. Protected even. Even though it’s just Zoey.
“Oh, is someone getting possessive over our new pet?” Zoey giggled. Rumi sighed contently as she crawled over Mira a bit to look at Zoey’s expression. She seemed nothing but happy as she gave Rumi an approving pat on the head.
“Don’t let me stop you two. You play nice now, alright?” Zoey asked playfully, reaching down to scratch Mira on the chin again, which made her hum in delight. She then sat beside them on the couch and grabbed the remote, putting on some animal documentary about tigers.
If Mira closed her eyes and concentrated, she could kind of hear Rumi absentmindedly chewing on the leather in her muzzle as she purred. Weirdly enough, it kind of made Mira want to bite something too. She didn’t typically have that urge, although she sometimes ground her teeth when she was upset or concentrated. She didn’t have any fangs so she was certainly less of a hazard when it came to chewing up household objects. There was a bit of a disconnect in the filter between her thoughts and actions right now, so she decided to try biting down on her hoodie sleeve. Not gnawing away like Rumi was beside her, but just a simple test bite. She was startled when she heard Zoey laugh at her. She quickly pulled away
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you, Pu- actually wait. I call Rumi puppy. Do you also want to be a puppy? Or something else?”
Rumi said something unintelligible through her muzzle.
Mira didn’t meet Zoey’s gaze, choosing instead to hide behind Rumi’s arm because she was still embarrassed.
“Baaaaaby, look at me.” Zoey tried to coax her. Mira shook her head. “Cmoooon now. I know you’re flustered but I wanna see your pretty face.”
Mira looked up at Zoey, frowning in a very cute and pouty way. It made a lightbulb go off in Zoey’s mind. An undeniable comparison that she couldn’t believe she hadn’t thought of before.
“You know, you really act like a cat.” Zoey said, poking Mira’s nose, which made her face scrunch disapprovingly. “See, you just proved it.”
Mira rolled her eyes, but didn’t deny it. She’s been described as catty before, the revelation didn’t really phase her. But in this context? It felt like it meant something else.
“Do you wanna be my pretty kitty, Mira? My pwetty widdow kitty caaat?”
Mira groaned in embarrassment. But she didn’t say no. She didn’t want to say no. To her abject horror, she did want that. Really badly as a matter of fact. She hesitatently nodded her head.
“Goooood girl. Awwwwh you wanna be my kitty don’t you? Well don’t you worry, I’m gonna take good real good care of you baby.” Zoey smiled. Mira smiled back. Wanting nothing more than to get called a good girl again.
Rumi nudged Mira again, trying to encourage her to cuddle closer. Mira sighed and gave into the needy mutt's demands. That earned a pet on the head for both of them from Zoey.
“My good puppy and kitty are getting along. Are you two hungry? Do you wanna treat?” Zoey cooed. Rumi’s head shot up at the sound, which made Mira whine as she no longer had her favorite pillow.
“Oooh Rumi’s excited! Come on baby, let’s get you something to eat.” Zoey said as she began to walk, Rumi already was bounding off the couch to follow her. Mira stayed put. She was honestly very sleepy from this whole experience, and getting up felt like it took ten times the effort it normally took. She tried to get comfy despite the tragic lack of warm bodies to lay on top of.
“Lemme take off your muzzle so you can eat, Rumi.” Zoey said, already unclasping the back. The muzzle fell free off of Rumi’s face and into her hands, Rumi had to take a moment to adjust to the feeling.
Zoey put a small plate on the ground between the kitchen and living room. The plate had a couple of rolled out balls of uncooked cookie dough on it. Mira sneered, there was no way Rumi was actually going to eat that off the floor was she? Zoey did mischievous things all the time. Neither girl paid any mind to it, so Mira figured Rumi wouldn’t indulge in her antics.
But Rumi, to Mira’s absolute shock, slowly kneeled to the floor and began to eat the food with reckless abandon.
The sight was kind of attractive to Mira, but also scandalous and bewildering. She hoped Zoey wouldn’t make her do that too.
Zoey’s face seemed to soften when she turned to Mira. Like she could always sense her hesitancy, and her flighty nature. Disturbingly enough the song and dance did truly remind Mira of a scared Cat being taken in for the first time. At least that’s how she felt, and she was pretty sure Zoey felt the same. She didn’t understand if she should lean into or away from this feeling to get what she wanted.
And what did Mira want exactly? Honestly she didn’t know. Everything they were doing had been great so far though, and she certainly didn’t want it to stop. The collar she wore felt like a symbol of love and ownership around her neck. And she wanted to chase that feeling, no matter where it led her.
“Don’t think I forgot about you, my pretty kitty.” Zoey said, trotting over to Mira on the couch, setting down a similar plate to Rumi’s. Who was still eating off of the floor for some reason. At least Mira’s food was served to her with a bit more dignity. How did Rumi manage to be so spoiled and yet always settle for so little? Whatever, at least Mira was spared from the same fate.
She sniffed the food in front of her. She felt embarrassed at the action. But she was supposed to be acting like a cat right? When Rumi put her collar on, she often said it helped her get rid of her negative thoughts, and follow her instincts. Mira didn’t have demon instincts like Rumi, so everything she did felt a little bit calculated. But she did feel it, the urges to follow. To be good, and to relax and let her composure go.
Zoey smiled. “Go on, it’s good.” She goaded, giving Mira a gentle rub on the head as she slowly leaned down to eat. The constant reassurance and praise did something horrible to Mira, and Zoey knew it.
“Good girl.” Zoey whispered as Mira started eating, which made her stomach do flips. Mira stretched lazily after she ate, and attempted to cuddle up against Zoey and fall asleep. Her plans were however foiled by Rumi again, who had also finished eating and ran towards the couch.
“Awww, do you want attention too, puppy?” Zoey squeaked as she began to pet and scratch Rumi. Mira huffed but stayed quiet, knowing that she had to share Zoey’s attention.
Rumi’s eyes however seemed to lock onto Mira since she came over. And even as Zoey delightfully pet her, Rumi was slowly padding over to where Mira was on the couch.
Mira didn’t think much of it until she felt something slobber on her cheek. Rumi was licking her face.
“Hey!” Mira hissed out, trying to push Rumi’s face away from her to no avail. Zoey did absolutely nothing to stop this. She just watched in amusement.
“Rumi, cut it out! That’s gross!” Mira protested, Rumi decided to tackle her so she couldn’t get away. Pinning her down stomach first over her arms and locking their legs together so she couldn’t escape, all while continuing to lave her tongue over Mira’s face and neck. Occasionally catching strands of her hair on her tongue by accident.
“Be nice Mira. Our puppy is giving you kisses. Don’t you like it?”
“Get her off of me! This is worse than the biting.” It wasn’t, Mira was lying. But it was wet and gross and cold. But unfortunately Zoey had a point. It did feel nice at times. Especially when Rumi lapped at her neck, near her new collar. The sensation made her head go fuzzy.
Rumi noticed this, and seemed to get more intentional with her ministrations. Intentionally running her tongue along her neck and chin instead of her face. But what shamefully did Mira in was when Rumi took the collar on her neck between her teeth and roughly tugged at it.
“Rumi! Don’t do that, you’ll mess up her shiny new collar.” Zoey pouted. Rumi immediately dropped her hold on Mira’s collar at the scolding, which made Mira very loudly whine in protest. She wanted the exact opposite of that. She wanted Rumi to keep doing that, and then maybe again, possibly for the rest of her life. But Rumi would never go against Zoey’s orders. Which meant Mira was stuck between never experiencing that again and having to say what she wants. She huffed, trying to make an obnoxious display of her dissatisfaction.
“Hmm? What’s got you all upset, kitty? You still want Rumi to stop grooming you?” Zoey asked. Mira grumbled, shaking her head rapidly.
“Then what is it, what’s got you all whiny, baby?” Zoey coaxed, Mira had a bit of trouble finding her voice, especially in her embarrassment and humiliation at the want in her ask. But going back was not an option.
“I want...Rumi to do that again.” She mumbled. Rumi perked up at that, knowing exactly what Mira was talking about.
“Oh? Do you like a good tug on your collar, kitty?” Zoey drawled out, hand reaching to delicately scratch Mira’s chin as a reward for her honesty.
“Yes.” Mira squeaked out, already knowing what’s coming next. Zoey looped one of her fingers under the metal ring of Mira’s collar and gave it a harsh pull, making Mira yelp.
Rumi smiled, leaning forward on Mira’s back as Zoey yanked her forward. Just a bit, to the point where she was almost laying down. Strewn across the couch like a pliable thing.
“It feels good, doesn’t it? Being owned?” Rumi mumbled against Mira’s back. All Mira could do was nod, which thankfully seemed like enough for both the girls right now.
Zoey stopped tugging at the collar, opting instead for slipping a couple of her fingers under the fabric to make it tighten under Mira’s neck, which sent shudders through the pink haired girl. “Good thing you like it so much. Because this means you’re mine, and no one else’s. I can’t believe I let you run around for so long without one honestly. Poor little kitty, all lost and alone and scared. But now no one can take you from me now, isn’t that right?”
Mira nodded frantically. All of Zoey’s words felt like honey to her head. All slow and sweet, pushing her deeper into her state of mind.
Rumi looked at her excited, already lunging again for her collar, tugging her back with her teeth making Mira cry out, a bit startled.
“Gentle puppy, remember? Our new pet needs you to be soft with her. Isn’t that right kitty?” Zoey asks. All Mira can do is nod.
“You can tug, but be gentle.” Zoey tells Rumi, who nods in response. She pulls Mira closer into her, a tight embrace that Mira leans into encouragingly. She’s subtly nudging Rumi’s face into her neck so she could bite her collar again. She was rewarded when Rumi began to idly chew on the fabric, causing it to constrict deliciously around her neck.
“That’s so precious. You two are adorable. Ack! Where’s my phone, I have to take another picture.” Zoey scrambles across the couch.
Mira sighed in Rumi’s arms. This really was nice. Both Zoey and Rumi were being so sweet to her. And all she had to do was what she had been doing this whole time. Be theirs.
Rumi once again started licking her neck. The sensation made Mira shiver. “Rummmiiiii.” Mira whined, not sure if she wanted Rumi to stop or go further. Probably the latter.
“Mine.” Rumi growled, pulling her closer, gently mouthing at Mira’s neck. Never sinking her teeth in like she so badly wanted to, but enough for Mira to feel pressure on her pulse point, which made her groan.
“Yeah puppy, all yours.” Mira sighed as she tangled her hands in Rumi’s now messy braid, pulling her closer to her neck and collarbone. She wanted Rumi to mark her, to prove her possession further. And Rumi was happy to oblige.
When Zoey finally stopped being distracted, she saw the pair of cuddling women had gotten a little bit more tangled up since she last looked at them. She tisked.
“What am I going to do with you two?”
Rumi’s hands had slid under Mira’s shirt subtly as she kissed and sucked dark bruises into her skin, inching up slowly until she couldn’t control herself and grabbed one of Mira’s breasts, making her yelp.
“Now, now, what did we say puppy? You have to be gentle with your new kitty friend. I know you’re excited to play, but Mira has to learn the rules on how to be a good kitty first.” Zoey drawled out, cupping Mira’s face. Mira’s eyes drifted between the two girls above her, she felt hazy and love drunk from all the attention.
“Miiiiiira.” Zoey gently pulled her attention back to her. “You remember the stoplight system, right?”
Mira rolled her eyes and nodded. Zoey shook her head. “Words baby, gotta make sure you’re still with us.”
Mira huffed but complied, just wanting to get to the good part. “Yes Zoey, I remember.” Zoey smiled. “Don’t be afraid to use them if it gets to be too much. You know how rough our puppy likes to get.”
Rumi smiled, her fangs peaking out behind her lips, her ears a little more purple and pointy now, began to wiggle and her patterns flashed. Rumi almost never fully transformed around the girls, but she liked to shift in and out of this part-demon form when she wore her collar sometimes. Zoey said she looked like a labubu. (She did NOT)
“And-!” Zoey continued, forcing Mira’s gaze back to her. “Remember, you’re my pet kitty now. You don’t give any orders tonight, not even to Rumi. Your only job is to sit there and look pretty while we pamper and play with you. Understood?”
Mira grunted in acknowledgment, avoiding eye contact. not enough for Zoey. “I said, is that understood?”
When Mira finally meets her gaze, Zoey sees her pupils are blown wide. Her sharp features softly pressed against the warmth in Zoey’s palm. She isn’t smiling, trying to keep a cool and collected expression. But it only makes her look dazed and hungry. Hungry for her and Rumi. It drove Zoey wild.
Mira’s voice was barely above a whisper as she responded. Though not out of shyness anymore. It was something far more sinister. “Understood, owner.” She rasped, lips curling into a slightly sinister yet vulnerable grin. Zoey had to take a moment to regain her composure. Having trouble finding her train of thought while Mira tried to seduce her. But two could play that game now.
Zoey smirked. “Good giiiirrrrlll. Listening so well.” She stroked Mira’s cheek with her thumb, causing Mira’s eyes to close happily. “Puuuupyy!” She called for Rumi’s attention, who immediately perked up at the sound.
“You can play with the kitty now, but first!” Zoey quickly moves to strap the muzzle (which she somehow grabbed from the kitchen without Rumi noticing) back on Rumi’s face snuggly, making her whine.
Zoey cooed in false sympathy. “Awh, I know baby, but we can’t have you getting too out of control tonight. You wanna be good for us, don’t you?” She giggled, kissing Rumi’s forehead.
Rumi nodded furiously. She could behave, and deep down she knew the muzzle would help her with her urge to bite. Much like the collar, the muzzle got rid of another thing Rumi spent a lot of her time worrying about. It helped her feel more safe, there was less of a need to watch herself. All Rumi needed to do was let go and listen to her girls, and everything would be okay.
After Zoey properly adjusted the muzzle to Rumi’s face, and praised her for being so good and still while she did so, Rumi’s eyes immediately locked onto Mira. was lazily draped over the other side of the couch. The dark hickies Rumi left on her neck still visible. Right under her beautiful new collar.
Rumi stalked over to her, a low rubble reverberating through her chest. Her ears twitched at every shuffling sound and fluttering breath from Mira’s body. Mira could feel the intensity in her gaze. Her eyes flickered down to the claws slowly growing on Rumi’s hands and then the purple patterned hue that trailed up her toned arms.
Mira was of course no stranger to Rumi’s immaculate form. At first she was jealous of the purple haired girl, no matter how much she worked out she could never seem to quite match Rumi’s more muscular physique. Of course her sour attitude quickly sweetened when their relationship grew more intimate, and Mira got to experience the joy of getting tossed around and manhandled by her absolute unit of a partner.
However back then, Mira was almost always in control. Rumi hung onto her every word, and would follow her every command like a well trained dog.
However, tTonight was very different. Mira was like her now, a pet. And pets couldn’t order around other pets. At least according to Zoey’s rules. So now when Rumi looked at her with slitted eyes and twitching ears, stalking over to her slowly and quietly, it made Mira feel like prey. A creature Rumi didn’t want to spook off and set running, but had every intent of intimidating.
Mira was incredibly good at reading people. Rumi and Zoey in particular. With every flicker of Rumi’s eyes and every purr in her chest Mira could see clear intention. Rumi was thriving off of seeing Mira helpless. Under that muzzle she was probably drooling. She wanted to pin Mira beneath her. Claim her like she was property.
And Mira could not be more turned on by it. She wondered if she should lean into it. Act flighty and helpless so Rumi had a reason to get possessive and rough. Then again, would it be dangerous to encourage her? Mira was grateful Zoey made her put the muzzle back on again, because Rumi was looking at her like she wanted to eat her alive.
Mira hadn’t ever officially subbed for her girls though. As much as she wanted to, she wasn’t entirely sure how to act to truly complete the scene. She loved the way Rumi and Mira were treating her, but she was still new to all of this. Zoey clearly noticed and was trying to ease her into being a pet. But could she truly act the part? Rumi had a head start, she already kind of acted like an animal with her half demon heritage and all. Mira didn’t know if she was going to be able to keep up.
Zoey tilted her head, noticing the contemplative shift in Mira’s eyes and body language. Clearly somehow in the five seconds she looked away her beautiful and confident girlfriend had overthought herself into a rabbit hole. Maybe it was time for her (self named) ultimate super secret weapon of mass destruction.
“Miraaaa.” Zoey gently called her attention. Rumi was practically on top of her now, but Mira managed to look past her to the shorter girl on the couch when she was called. She was such a good girl for that.
Zoey pulled something small from her sweatpants pocket. Mira’s eyes widened at the sight. Though it shouldn’t have surprised her. Mira distinctly remembers getting in big trouble with Celine multiple times with Zoey over this particular substance.
“You seem so nervous, kitty. How bout’ some catnip to make you feel better?” Zoey chuckled as she shook the bag. Mira’s eyes followed it intently. While initially getting high for this experiment could seem like a bad idea, it might just be exactly what Mira needs to get into the right headspace. She nodded silently, hoping to silently convey all of this to Zoey.
She could hear Rumi complain through the muzzle. Zoey rolled her eyes. “Yeah yeah Rums, I’ll take her on the balcony to smoke so we don’t stink up the penthouse. You wait here like a good puppy and we’ll be right back, okay?”
Rumi huffed in protest, but got off of Mira anyway. Admittedly, the thought of Mira being high and helpless beneath her made her cheeks flush. Though Rumi would never admit it out loud. She didn’t like to partake in such…activities. Celine had properly scared her straight from any mind altering substances. Not just because of her patterns, but also because it was unprofessional and dangerous. Though that certainly was a good motivator. She never judged her girlfriends for it though. She knew Celine could be overly strict, and she trusted Mira and Zoey. But they had yet to rope her in on their nefarious behavior. At least…not yet.
When Mira and Zoey came back, they were both giggling. Rumi had a feeling Mira wasn’t the only one who was hitting that pen on the balcony. However, she did seem significantly more inebriated than Zoey. Collapsing on the couch the second it was in sight and delightfully rolling around on the soft fabric.
Zoey hummed in delight. “Looks like our kitty is feeling much better. Isn’t that right Mir?”
Mira frantically nodded as her face grew a deeper shade of red. She felt much lighter, and far more relaxed. Though she admits she may have overdone it. As she was slightly disoriented. In her defense, Zoey had pulled the “be a good girl and smoke a little more for me.” Card so truly she couldn’t be blamed for this predicament.
Rumi seemed to notice she was a little out of it, because her demeanor changed to be a bit gentler than she was before. Gently padding towards Mira with a playful curiosity. Though the hunger in her eyes was still undeniably present. But it seemed like she was speaking permission to pounce. Like an excitable puppy being told to “wait.” With a delicious treat right in front of them. Normally, Mira would be the one to give Rumi permission. But now, that power was entirely in the hands of Zoey. Who had a dark look in her eye as she decided what to do with her two new sweet collared pets.
“Awh Rumi, you’ve been so patient.” Zoey affectionately pets her hair. Then took a suspiciously large step back from the two women as she sat on the far end of the couch.
“Go on and play with her puppy. She’s all yours.” Zoey smiled as she leaned back. Clearly excited for the show.
Mira in her haze didn’t have time to register before Rumi descended on her. A loud growl ran through Rumi’s chest as she grappled Mira, pulling her close.
Mira whimpered and squirmed in Rumi’s grip, which seemed to encourage her further. Rumi took Mira’s arms and pinned them above her head in a sharp motion causing Mira to gasp in shock.
Zoey began to laugh, watching Rumi nudge her muzzle into Mira’s neck. She was purring loudly, one of her hands already ridding up Mira’s shirt.
Rumi roughly grabbed Mira’s breast, her claws digging into her skin. The rough treatment made Mira moan loudly. She knew what she was doing. Rumi was marking her. Zoey had given Mira her mark of ownership through the collar, now Rumi was planning to give her her own.
Rumi continued the assault on her breasts, roughly pinching one of her nipples with her clawed fingers. Mira’s hips bucked in the air. She would have attempted to cover her mouth to prevent any more sound from coming out, but Rumi still had both her arms pinned above her head in a bruising grip. The muzzle she was wearing was pressed against the crook of Mira’s neck. The only barrier between Rumi’s teeth and Mira’s collarbones. It drove Rumi nuts, causing her to growl in frustration. Mira could feel every vibration against her at what felt like ten times the sensitivity. The roughness of her claws combined with the soothing sounds and feeling of her growling and purring against her made Mira’s brain melt.
With another harsh tug on her nipple Mira yelped, and seemed to remember where she was as she started squirming again. It was too much and not enough at the same time. Both girls were beginning to get frustrated and worked up. Much to Zoey’s delight.
“Rummmi.” Zoey drew out. Rumi didn’t seem like she wanted to stop what she was doing. Even going so far as to growl a bit when she turned around to face Zoey. Which was awfully rude. But Zoey didn’t have time to chastise her right now. She had other plans.
“Go fetch your toy, puppy.” Zoey commanded. Rumi perked up at that, quickly bounding off to her room to follow though. Mira’s eyes widened, she knew exactly which toy Zoey was talking about. If she felt hazy and light right now, she was going to be nothing more than a puddle on their floor by the end of the night. When she looked Zoey in the eyes, it was clear that was exactly what she had planned.
The second Rumi was out of the room, Zoey reached out for Mira, and pulled the taller girl in her lap. Mira was almost no better than a rag doll at this point, so it was easy for her to accept the gesture.
“How are you doing baby?” Zoey asked as she brushed Mira’s hair out of her head. Mira curled herself entirely into the smaller girl's figure, sighing contently.
Zoey playfully rolled her eyes as she gently tugged on Mira’s collar. “Speak, kitty.”
“Good.” Mira whimpered out reluctantly. Not wanting to speak but completely being helpless to Zoey’s commands.
Zoey’s hands began to trace down from Mira’s hair as she spoke. “Good. Because our puppy is gonna be back any moment now with her favorite toy. And you know exactly what she’s going to do with you once she has it.” Zoey whispers as she gently trailed her fingers across Mira’s middle, the scratch marks left behind by Rumi welling up a bit in irritation.
“Don’t worry kitty, I’ll make sure you’re nice and ready for her.” Zoey pressed her face into Mira’s neck with a sweet kiss, sealing her words like a promise as her wandering fingers began to dip below Mira’s pajama pants. “Then I’ll get the pleasure of holding and petting you while she fucks you stupid.”
Mira groaned in need. Wanting Zoey to stop teasing her. Every whisper against her skin made her hair stand on end in anticipation. She couldn’t contain the embarrassing squeak that came out of her when she felt Zoey’s pointer finger finally dip into the heat of her core, bucking her hips wildly. Which caused Zoey to use her other arm to hold her legs.
“Shhhh, don’t squirm kitty. I’m gonna take care of you, ‘kay?” Zoey sweetly asked as she began to rub Mira’s clit. Mira nodded, bringing her hand to cover her mouth, but trying to stay still otherwise.
“Good girl, so well behaved. But I wanna hear you baby, put your hand down.” Zoey said while she continued to press against Mira’s clit. She whined into her hand, not wanting to humiliate herself further. But it wasn’t up to her anymore, and Zoey had to let her know it.
“Move your hand kitty, or I stop.” Zoey gently but firmly insisted. And Mira knew she wouldn’t hesitate, so she reluctantly lowered her hand. Her legs were starting to shake a bit as Zoey toyed with her, but she did her best to keep still. Desperate to please her owner.
Zoey only became more emboldened with Mira’s obedience. Dragging her fingers lower and curling them inside of Mira. The pink haired girl cried out, her legs slightly bucking against Zoey’s arms, causing her grip on her to tighten.
Mira knew she wasn’t allowed to move, but the pace Zoey set was relentless. Her breathing shallowed, unable to concentrate on anything but how good her fingers felt inside of her. Zoey could feel her shaking in her arms.
But then Zoey stopped. Mira cried out in frustration, eyes opening to see what could have caught Zoey’s attention other than her. She didn’t have to wonder for long as she felt the cushion beside her creek as someone got on it. Rumi was back.
Zoey smiled as she lifted Mira up a bit higher in her arms.
Taking the hand that was wrapped around her legs and bringing it up to hold her face so she could see the purple haired woman.
Rumi seemed half disheveled already. Her braid was a mess, eyes glowing, claws out. All senses once again locked on Mira with a predatory gaze. Her favorite strap was secured on her waist. A large bright purple cock sat between her legs as she stared at the dazed and aroused woman.
“Yeah? You want her, puppy?” Zoey asked in a husky tone, clearly incredibly aroused herself. Zoey used the hand that was inside of Mira’s pants to yank them down to her ankles in a fast motion. Making Mira whimper at the sudden bite of the cool air.
“Come and get her.” Zoey commanded. Rumi needed no further instruction.
—-
Mira was absolutely wrecked. She shivered, suddenly all too aware of the cold air on her nude body. The room seemed to spin around her. But not in a dangerous way, almost like she was being rocked to sleep. Still, Mira whined. Upset that Rumi’s warm body was no longer on top of hers.
At the sound of her distress (well, more like melodrama) her ever so attentive lover rushed back to her attention. She didn’t speak, she was clearly still in a sort of feral state. But she brought her face close to Mira’s to scan for any signs of pain or discomfort.
Despite how heavy her limbs felt, Mira didn’t hesitate to grapple for Rumi. Everything was so fuzzy and her senses were still so dialed up, she just wanted to be held. Rumi of course leaned into the cuddle, purring contently as her chin playfully pressed against the bruising mark she had left on Mira’s neck. That made Mira squirm a bit.
Zoey noticed Mira’s distressed cries and decided to jump into action, despite how cute the display was. “Hey I know, let’s all take a nice warm bath! Doesn’t that sound nice, puppy and kitty?”
Rumi looked up at Zoey and nodded frantically, arms still wrapped around Mira. Who seemed to barely register that she was talking.
Zoey clicked her tongue. “Poor kitty, I might have made her smoke too much. It’s okay sweet girl.” The smaller woman reassured as she reached out to gently run a hand down Mira’s spine. Making the pink haired girl shiver.
“Cmon, to the big tub! Let’s go!” Zoey said energetically, trying to get her pets to move with her as she lifted herself from the couch.
Rumi practically bounced out of her seat to follow her master, the metal ring on her collar clicking playfully as she tried to catch up. It didn’t take long for both Rumi and Zoey to notice however that Mira was trailing behind.
When Zoey looked back her heart melted into a puddle of goo. Mira was trying to stand up, but her legs were shaky from her playtime with Rumi. She had grappled to one of the couch arms to try and prop herself up. She looked back at Rumi and Zoey with big, pathetic wet cat eyes. Clearly trying her best to follow Zoey’s command and failing.
Zoey rushed back to the couch, encouraging Rumi to follow her.
“Rumi, do you think you could pick her up?” Zoey asked, which prompted the patterned woman to nod frantically. She was the strongest of the group, even more so now that she could let her demon out. Not bothering to wait for Zoey’s command, she took it upon herself to gently scoop up her mate in her arms by her legs and carry her bridal style. Letting out a prideful growl as she did so.
Mira seemed a bit startled at first, but when she realized what was happening she relaxed a bit. Rumi had carried her multiple times, and she always trusted her fully. Zoey too, if she was being honest. Though the maknae did not have as clean of a record when it came to dropping her teammates.
Speaking of, she felt a hand on her face that made her instinctively scrunch up in disapproval, but then she realized she wasn’t being poked or prodded, rather Zoey was gently stroking the bridge of her nose with her fingers. It felt really nice.
“She’s so cute like this.” Zoey wistfully sighs. “I just wanna keep her like this forever, don’t you Rumi?”
Rumi wasn’t listening. She was much more interested in casually licking Mira’s neck. Her long tongue laved gently over the many deep bruises she left on Mira’s skin. Especially the nasty mark on her pulse point where she almost broke skin. Mira whimpered loudly again.
“Puppy, don’t make her squirm! You’ll drop her. Let’s all get to the bath, okay?” Zoey gently scolded, causing Rumi to pout. But Zoey was determined to complete her mission. It couldn’t seriously be harder to get her girlfriends into a hot bath than it would be for actual animals, right?
When they made it to the bathroom, Zoey immediately went to turn on the faucet before she inevitably got distracted again. Rumi gently set Mira down beside the tub on the bath mat. The pink haired girl draped herself over the tub rim as she watched it fill with great interest. Which was extremely amusing to both Rumi and Zoey.
“Awwh, look how curious the kitty is.” Zoey giggled as she began to free her hair from her space buns. Rumi was trying her best to shake out her braid, desperately trying to pick out what was probably a million pins that held it together.
Rumi was used to this routine by now, so she held her neck out expectantly for Zoey to unclasp her collar. She didn’t like putting it on and taking it off herself, that right belonged to her girls and her girls alone. Zoey of course unclamped the back and let the weight gently lift off of Rumi’s neck into her hands, then she gently set it down on the marble countertop.
Mira, who was still watching the tub fill with a laughable determination, hardly noticed when Zoey approached her. But put on a big dopey smile when she finally turned to see her by her side. Her owner was here, and she loved her so much. She noticed Zoey’s hands going towards her neck, she didn’t bother to stop it.
“I gotta take off your collar now, baby.” Zoey gently said. Mira’s brows knitted in worry. What did she say? Why did she need to take off Mira’s collar? Has she been bad? Was it over already? she wasn’t ready for it to be over.
Zoey chuffed. “For the bath, Mir. We can’t get it wet.” She reminded her. And normal rational Mira would probably agree. But instinctively, her hands clasped protectively around the neck cover and she shook her head. Scared of what taking the collar off means.
Zoey of course wouldn’t take off the collar without Mira’s permission. But Mira also knew that she had to take it off if Zoey was asking her too. And the inevitability made her even more distressed. At first Zoey just assumed she was being dramatic, until she saw tears begin to fall from her eyes.
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong? Talk to me, Mir. I didn’t mean to upset you. What’s going on?”
Mira sniffled a bit. She wasn’t crying much, but enough that her body sort of shook where it was. She probably looked so pathetic right now, but she was hardly lucid enough to care.
It took a while for Mira to find her voice. Words felt heavy on her tongue, and speaking took some effort. But she didn’t want to worry Zoey, who seemed confused and upset at Mira’s sudden breakdown. “..was..I not good?” She rasped out. Brows pinching as she looked up at her master.
Zoey’s eyes widened a fraction, and her brows shot up to her hairline. “Oh, my love no, of course you were. You were so good for me, kitty.” Zoey brought her hands up to cradle Mira’s face, letting her rest the weight of her head in her hands. Her thumbs stroked the hinge of her jaw in herbedt attempt to soothe. “I know how much you like the collar hun, but that's why we have to take it off for the bath. It won't stay nice and pretty if it gets all soggy.” Mira seemed to consider this momentarily, and Rumi took the opportunity to slide down next to her, leaning her body weight and warmth into Mira as she considered Zoey’s words. She nosed gently at the underside of Mira’s jaw in the hopes that the contact would help ease Mira’s worries.
Zoey hummed contently as she held Mira’s face, letting her think it over patiently. Thinking about whatever she could say to make this easier for her. “My pretty kitty, I promise you can put it right back on afterwards.”
Mira perked up at that. Ah, that may have been the thread she was missing. “I…can?” Mira asked hopefully. Her eyes still wide and vulnerable, the last of her tears still streaking down her face.
“Yes, of course you can. It’s your collar baby, you can wear it as much as you like.” Zoey reassures. She’s had to do this with Rumi sometimes before, but for some reason Mira’s reaction to it seems more intense. There was definitely something a bit more to it, but that could be figured out later. Right now she just had to make sure her girl got in the bath while the water was still hot.
“Can I unclasp the collar now, sweet girl?” Zoey gently prodded. Mira nodded slowly, still half unwilling but much calmer now. Zoey smiled, reaching her hands around her neck and gently undoing the buckle.
When the collar fell off Mira’s neck it made her want to cry again. Zoey quickly went to reassure her as soon as she set the collar down. Going back to gently petting her face.
“Good girl, my sweet kitty cat” she reached to scritch behind Mira’s ears gently, which luckily seemed to have the same effect on her that it did on Rumi. Her eyes went half lidded and nearly crossed, and her mouth hung slightly open allowing little animalistic huffs and whimpers that were more attention seeking than real upset. She let slip a surprisingly feline sounding ‘mrrp’ when Zoey pulled away to turn off the tap. When she went searching for the contact again, she instead found Rumi, butting the top of her head into her chin and sending them both tumbling gently to the floor.
When she turned, Zoey couldn't help but snap another photo. Rumi noticed, but Mira didn’t. And her insistent whining was enough for Rumi to completely forget about the photo in turn for paying attention to her again. By the end of this, Zoey was going to have a full album of them without either of them realizing.
“Alright you two. Baths ready. Climb in!” Zoey said. Putting her hand in the water to check the temperature. It was extremely hot, honestly. But her girlfriends were both freaks who liked to simulate they were burning in hell every time they got into the shower. So she had no doubt they would love it.
Sure enough, the half demon went first. Practically diving into the scalding hot water with a splash. Contently purring as her muscles relaxed. Mira was a bit more hesitant. She gently dipped one of her hands in the water to test it out. Zoey nodded at her encouragingly.
“Go on, it’s good. Puppy’s enjoying it, aren’t you puppy?” Zoey turned her attention toward Rumi, who purred in agreement. Slowly swimming her way back over to Zoey to hopefully get her to pet her a bit.
Mira slowly lowered herself into the water with a smile. It felt incredible. All of her muscles relaxed the second they made contact with the water. The steam made her feel more floaty. And there was a pleasant floral smell in the air, Zoey must have added something.
When she turned over to see Zoey, she caught her petting Rumi. Rumi’s chin was resting on the edge of the tub while Zoey scratched her scalp. Rumi’s eyes were shut and she was purring so loud that Mira could see the water ripple around her with the reverb.
“Such a good puppy! You two ready to get all clean?” Zoey asked, becoming over Mira as well. Rumi nodded enthusiastically. Zoey reached beside her to grab the shampoo.
Mira reached out her hands for the bottle. Zoey tutted. “Nuh-uh. Kitties can’t clean themselves can they? Let me handle this sweet girl.” She gently cooed. Mira just nodded complacently. Not having a bit of fight left in her when her owner uses that tone.
Zoey began to scrub the shampoo into Rumi’s scalp. Mira knew washing her hair was going to take a long time, so she had to occupy herself until Zoey could pay attention to her. She drifted idly in the large tub, curling herself into one of the curved edges to rest her back. Her eyes began to flutter closed. The water was so warm and she was so content and tired.
She knew she couldn’t fall asleep in the tub, but she wasn’t entirely sure she was awake right now either. She concentrated on the sound of Zoey humming “this is what it sounds like.” As she scrubbed Rumi’s head, and the low vibrations of Rumi’s purring through the water. Everything else felt so distant.
She was brought back to reality by the sound of Zoey calling her over. Not hesitating to drift over to where Zoey sat at the edge of the tub, where Rumi had moved to make space for her.
“Lay your head back, kitty.” Zoey gently commanded. Mira obeyed, eyes shutting as she let the back of her head rest on the tub. Zoey began to work the soap into her hair. The sensation was almost overwhelming, but in a good way. Feeling both of Zoey’s hands so thoroughly scrubbing her hair was enough to focus on alone, but Rumi also wanted in on the fun.
Rumi moved to drape herself over Mira while Zoey worked. She pressed herself up against the taller woman and nuzzled into the crook of her neck. Still once again putting pressure on that giant bruise she left on the meeting point of her neck and shoulder. Mira squeaked a bit at that. Which made Rumi growl pridefully. Zoey did nothing to stop this, focusing on rinsing and conditioning Mira’s pink hair.
Rumi then pulled in Mira for a kiss. It was a soft gesture, almost grounding. It was like she could hear Rumi saying “I’m here. I love you. You’re doing great.” She leaned in to kiss her more, wrapping her arms around Rumi’s back.
Zoey smiled. Wishing she could take another photo. “My sweet puppy and kitty. You both did so good today. Rumi, did you enjoy getting to play with kitty today?”
Rumi whined as she pulled Mira closer. That was a yes. “Me too. I’m so glad she’s with us.” Mira shut her eyes and let the praise wash over her.
When they moved to dry off, Zoey did all the work. She insisted Mira and Rumi’s “paws” were too clumsy to do it themselves. Rumi didn’t protest, but when she moved to dry Mira’s face she whined and complained. Zoey just rolled her eyes and continued despite her girlfriend's adorable protests.
Mira’s eyes drifted to the pink collar still on the bathroom counter. Her face contorted in a sort of pained yearning. Zoey caught on. “You want your collar back, pretty kitty?”
Mira nodded frantically.
Zoey grabbed the collar from the counter and brought it back up to Mira’s neck. Her breath hitched as she waited for Zoey to put it back on her, getting frustrated when she hesitated.
“I want you to ask for it, baby.” Zoey gently demanded. Mira was almost offended, wanting to keep a bit of her dignity. But the growing need for the collar almost overpowered all the other emotions. Still, she stood stunlocked for a while.
Zoey’s face was rapidly scanning Mira’s as she worked through this, almost in concern. Rumi also seemed to pick up on the shift in energy, as she was now also studying Mira, who was thankfully too wrapped up in her own head to notice. What was going on in there was a mystery to everybody but her.
Rationally, Mira knew the collar wasn’t that big of a deal, it was just one aspect of this new play they were trying out, and there was no shame in keeping it on in aftercare. Rumi did it all the time. But she felt half rational at best right now, still floating through this very new subspace in her mind she wasn’t used to. And for whatever reason, it really didn’t like that Zoey wasn’t putting the collar back on her.
“Please…please put it back on.” Her voice cracked despite herself, opening a horribly clear window to her current emotional state, which seemed to be what Zoey and Rumi were searching for.
Rumi wrapped her hands around Mira’s waste and slowed her breathing, attempting to ground Mira. Zoey wasted no more time slipping Mira’s collar back on, and that seemed to calm her down a lot, but not fully. Rumi and Zoey both sort of figured there would be some sub-drop involved in such an intense change in their dynamic, but they held off on telling Mira their worries because they knew the pink haired girl was already feeling flighty about her new discoveries and they wanted to encourage her to explore them fully.
“Easy, easy, easy, baby. You’re okay.” Zoey lightly kissed Mira’s forehead as she whimpered. Mira leaned back against Rumi’s touch and tried to wrap her hands around her own forearms to ground herself. It worked, but made her look so small and pitiful. Rumi cooed.
“You were so good for us.” Rumi purred, one of her hands moving to gently rub Mira’s back. “Such a good girl.”
Even though her body felt heavy, Mira insisted on following Rumi and Zoey to the closet to get some pajamas. Sticking close by the two girls at all times. Mira wasn’t typically the clingy one in their relationship by any means. She was always around her girls, sure. But there was a level of security to her demeanor that seemed to completely dissolve when she was in this state.
It reminded Rumi of something, but she couldn’t place what it was at the moment. She was also still recovering from a wild night. Zoey was busy praising Mira to no end, reveling in the timid smiles she gave her whenever she was called pretty or scratched behind the ear. Rumi would be jealous if she wasn’t focused on picking out a movie for the three of them to watch.
Mira sighed contently, eyes feeling droopy. She almost felt safe to fall asleep, hearing the gentle laughter of her girls drift in and out of the background noise. At some point Rumi had given her water and Zoey fed her some shrimp chips (she wasn’t normally a fan of those, but she was starving.) Rumi and Zoey preened themselves a bit for being amazing girlfriends and totally preventing Mira from falling into sub-drop. All was well! Until it wasn’t.
As Mira nodded off leaned against Zoey’s shoulder, Rumi swaddled her into a blanket and prevented her from hurting her neck by leaning her back against the couch. It was all so lovely, but the silence let something creep into Mira’s mind.
You don’t deserve them.
Mira tried to ignore it. It was a stupid thought after all. Not to mention very out of pocket considering nothing bad was happening.
They’ve been doing everything to take care of you, but you were hissy and mean and needy and difficult.
That’s not true! She was good. So what if she was a bit flighty, that’s normal right? She was trying something new.
Once they see how much work you are, they won’t want you to be theirs anymore. You’ll be alone with no family. Again.
God, why was her head being so mean to her. Fine, she would fight fire with fire. She grabbed at her own collar, still snug against her skin.
See? See! They still want me, I’m still theirs. This collar means they still want me.
Eventually that collar is going to come off, then you’ll be nothing more than an alley cat like you were before. You know more than anything that nothing is permanent, Mira.
“Is your collar too tight, Mir?” Zoey asked innocently, seeing the pink haired girl fidget with it idly on the couch. Mira shook her head quickly, not wanting to give Zoey any more trouble. Scared to draw any more attention to herself as she felt her body go into fight or flight.
Rumi noticed they were running low on snacks not long after, so she got up from the couch to go get more, when she felt a clammy hand clinging onto the fabric of her T-shirt. She looked down to see Mira, completely and frantically moved from her cozy spot on the couch to prevent her from leaving.
“Oh baby, I was just going to get us more food. What’s wrong Mir?” Rumi asked, being sure to not move an inch further until Mira answered.
“Don’t leave.” Mira whimpered. Rumi could see the faintest outline of tears on her downcast face.
“Don’t leave. I can still fix it!”
That’s where Rumi had seen that clinglyness before, she had seen it in herself, and she had seen it in Mira and Zoey the first few weeks after the idol awards. Something clicked into place. This wasn’t just subdrop, Rumi’s been through this before.
“Hey, I’m not going anywhere.” Rumi firmly insisted, her eyes quickly glanced at Zoey who seemed startled by the sudden shift in demeanor, waiting to see what will happen next as she sensed Rumi was gonna be the one to make the next call.
Rumi lifts up Mira’s tear stained face and cradles it in her hands as she gently lowered herself on the couch next to her. “Talk to me.”
Mira sniffled again, unable to make eye contact with Rumi, who was offering an empathetic smile for her to stare at instead. “I know it’s hard, but can you please try for me?”
Mira nodded, taking a deep breath in as she tried to find her words. “My brain is being a jerk to me.”
“Well that’s obvious.” Zoey playfully rolled her eyes as she leaned back against the couch. “If it keeps being mean, I’ll have to beat your brain up for hurting my girl.” She playfully remarked, making Mira and Rumi chuckle.
Mira’s voice became small as she tugged on Rumi’s shirt again, trying to pull her closer. Still scared of her going where she can’t follow.
“I’m sorry for being mean.”
Rumi looked at her confused. “Baby, you weren’t mean at all. You were so good tonight.”
Mira shuttered at the praise but tried to keep her mind focused. “I really liked tonight.” She croaked out. “I’m sorry.”
“What are you apologizing for?” Zoey interjected. “I loved tonight too, so did Rumi!” Rumi nodded.
Mira bit her lip before she spoke, scared of being too hasty with her clumsy words. “But…but…”
Rumi sensed the turmoil inside of Mira. It almost pained her how much she understood what she was feeling, but she needed to hear it for herself. “What is it, love?”
“You two were just so sweet to me- and I was so difficult and- and I love it but- I’m scared that after everything I won’t get to…be yours anymore.” Mira hicupped through gentle cries. All while Rumi nodded along.
“You’re scared of losing us?” Rumi gently prodded. Mira nodded. “It’s stupid I know.” She sniffled.
“That’s why you didn’t want to take the collar off!” Zoey exclaimed bubbly, having trouble hiding her pride in figuring it out.
Before Mira could respond, she felt two pairs of arms wrap tightly around her. She felt Zoey’s breath on her neck and Rumi’s in her ear.
“Mira.” Zoey started, tone still so gentle, almost as if she were still talking to her as a pet. “With or without the collar, you're still ours.”
“And you’ll be ours forever.” Rumi determinedly added. Something about the addition made Mira’s heart clench in pain.
“But I’m so snappy, and difficult. You guys shouldn’t want me.” Mira tried to argue back, but the bite had clearly left her voice.
“Well, tough break.” Zoey cemented with a bruising squeeze around Mira’s stomach. “We do. And besides…”
Zoey gently snaked one of her hands up Mira’s collarbones and to the side of her head where she gently scratched behind her ear, making Mira sigh in contentment. “Kitties are usually hissy things. But they’re so cute, just like you.”
“Mhm.” Mira lazily agreed, she felt much better now. She couldn’t tell if it was the reassurances or the compression on her chest, but she felt very tired and very light now. And the feeling only grew with Rumi and Zoey’s every word.
“Poor kitty, doesn’t understand she can never get rid of us.” Rumi playfully added, subtly tucking the blanket back around Mira as she held her. “Never going back out in the cold again, you belong to us now.”
Zoey played into the narrative, more for herself and Rumi than Mira now, as she was already almost fast asleep. “We’ll get you treats and toys and spoil you rotten even when you’re grumpy and hissy.”
Rumi chuckled a bit at the fantasy. It seemed nice, so right for some reason. It helped her understand something more about one of the women she loved. Rumi had enjoyed pet play because it helped her turn her brain off when she got overwhelmed. But for Mira, it seemed to help her understand unconditional love a bit more. It made warmth bloom inside her chest, she could tell Zoey felt the same as she watched the Raven haired girl stare closely at Mira while her breathing evened out.
So much said, so much left to talk about and discover. But the night seemed to wrap itself up in this blanket of warmth, consuming all three girls in its path.
If nothing else happened tonight, they all took comfort in knowing a street cat had finally found its home.
