Work Text:
Iyo had lost a match, usually she would get over it quickly, but not this time. She had fought Asuka, which already was painful for her. After all they were basically family. When the match was over, Kairi appeared, hugging Asuka. Asuka whispered something to Kairi, then the two of them turned to her. "Iyo, why fight us? We're family, it hurts us too." Asuka said, as Kairi stood next to her, looking dejected. Iyo watched them in horror. She tried to say something but the words refused to come out. She turned and ran.
Apon arriving home Iyo sees her girlfriend, Rhea on the couch. She ran over to her, before Rhea even realized she was home. "Iyo, are you okay? You look like you've been crying" Rhea asked, looking panicked after seeing Iyo. Iyo choked on her word, trying to hold back tears. She fell back on the couch next to Rhea. Rhea pulled her close to her and held her in her arms. Iyo buried her head in Rhea's chest and sobbed in her arms.
After a moment Iyo lifted her head, "I lost, and then Kairi and Asuka told me- told me I hurt them. I don't want to hurt them, Rhea." Iyo's words were filled with pain, Rhea could tell she was hurting from what they said. "Honey, it's okay, they were taunting you." Rhea said quietly to Iyo. She was holding back anger, Asuka had always been one to bring up the past to try to hurt Iyo, but she had gone too far. "I can focus on her later, Iyo's more important." Rhea thought to herself.
"Do you want to lay down? It's getting a bit late." Rhea asked. Iyo nodded at her, and quietly stood up. They walked over to their bedroom, hand in hand. The two of them layed down and held eachother. Rhea held Iyo close to her chest, Iyo dug her head into Rhea's chest. "Rhea, I love you, I don't deserve you." Iyo cried into her, her body trembling against Rhea's. "I love you too, Iyo, I'll always love you, no matter what." Rhea responded, comforting her.
The two layed there, until Rhea could feel Iyo drifting of to sleep. She kissed Iyo's head and pulled a blanket over them. She settled in with her, letting herself rest. They fell asleep together, today was a long day, but they had each other.
