On the journey to Vacuo, Kali tried to talk to her husband...
Ghira growled as he paced, ignoring Kali's pleas for reason. "Gonna bury him six feet deep..."
...unsuccessfully.
So Kali decided instead to talk to someone who would listen to her. Kali moved away from Ghira to make her call.
"Hello, Mrs. Belladonna," Ilia replied through the scroll.
"Ilia..."
"Sorry, hello Kali. Is the chieftain alright? Usually it's him who calls me."
"Well, you are our eyes and ears in Vacuo, and I had a few questions."
"Oh, of course, though I've been away from the main headquarters for a couple of weeks on a scouting mission, so I'm not as up to date on the mission. I'll try to answer whatever I can though."
"That explains a few things," Kali said.
"What does?"
"Ilia, Blake is back."
Ilia's skin turned white in shock, stunned into speechlessness.
"She called me herself yesterday. We're actually headed to Vacuo now to see her in person," added Kali.
"Rip his shirtless torso apart in two..." Ghira was muttering.
Kali heard this and sighed,"...among other things."
Ilia still looked shocked.
"Ilia, dear?"
Ilia shook her head and took a breath. "You're sure? Absolutely sure? Blake is alive?"
Kali nodded. "I saw her with my own eyes. When you're done with your mission, if you could check on her for me, that would be lovely. Our conversation with her and Sun was rather brief."
"Sun?"
"Yes, apparently they're dating now."
At this Ilia snorted, "I don't think so."
"Why not?" Kali wondered.
"Blake only had eyes for one person."
Kali frowned. "Adam..."
"Sorry, not Adam. Someone new, and definitely not Sun. If Blake wanted to be with Sun, she would have been when they were in Menagerie. I'm not sure what you heard, Mrs. - Kali, but I doubt it."
Kali thought back to her conversation with Blake. "Actually, she didn't say it was Sun. I guess I just thought because Sun was there. Do you know who Blake might be dating?"
Ilia looked away. "Blake should be the one to tell you, plus I'm only guessing." A thought struck Ilia. "Wait, the chieftain thinks Blake is with Sun?"
"At the moment, he does."
"And he's headed to Vacuo?"
"We are."
Ilia chuckled. "Poor Sun."
"I'm pretty sure Ghira only intended to talk to him."
"...I'll tie a bow around his neck with his own entrails..."
"Mostly sure," Kali amended.
" Well once the chieftain knows it's not Sun, he should be safe."
"...Or, we teach our chieftain a lesson on inappropriate misdirected anger." The mischief which sparkled in Kali's eyes was unmistakable.
Ilia tried to smother her smile. "Just make sure I'm there."
"...his ancestors will feel the hurt I'm bringing..."
Ghira paced another circuit, as Kali Belladonna simply chuckled to herself.
