Chapter Text
Taehyung groaned at the ache in his lower body. Definitely did not miss this part. Taehyung thought to himself as he blinked open his eyes, looking around until his gaze landed on Jungkook sleeping in the chair next to his bed, the alpha's head resting next to his thigh. He smiled at the sight and carefully placed his hand on Jungkook's head, gently running his fingers through the alpha's hair.
Jungkook snorted quietly, a sign that he was starting to wake up, before sleepily moving further into Taehyung's touch. The action had Taehyung giggling quietly, and it was then that Jungkook seemed to move fully from dreamland into reality. "Tae!" Jungkook gasped, eyes shooting wide open as he sat up, turning to look at the omega. "Hi, baby." He whispered, pressing his lips to Taehyung's.
"Are the pups okay?" Taehyung asked against Jungkook's lips, although his instincts were telling him they were just fine. He still needed to hear it from his mate.
"Minseok and Minsoo are just fine." Jungkook confirmed, Taehyung smiling at the fact that Jungkook was already using the names they'd picked out a few weeks ago. "They're on oxygen and will have to be for a few weeks at least, but they're good."
"Good." Taehyung let out a little sigh before a frown formed on his face.
"What?" Jungkook asked, instantly concerned.
Taehyung's eyes met his again, tears starting to well up in them. "I put you through it again."
Jungkook to Taehyung's hand and squeezes it. "It's okay. You're still here, and our pups are okay. That's what matters."
"I still should have taken it more seriously." Taehyung said, his lip trembling as a few tears slipped out. "I shouldn't have picked Minhee up. All of this could have been avoided. I'll do better next time."
Those two words had Jungkook's heart sinking. Now as the time to break the news to Taehyung. "Baby…there's not gonna be a next time." Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows. "They had trouble stopping the bleeding this time. They said it got to the point where the only way was by taking out your uterus, and that since you were unconscious, I had to consent for you, so I told them to do it." Taehyung's eyes widened the tiniest bit, his free hand subconsciously moving to rest on his lower abdomen. "I'm so sorry, baby. I know we were supposed to have five pups, and I completely understand if you hate me now?"
"How could I hate you?" Taehyung whispered. "I'd rather be able to be with you and our three beautiful pups than have the risk of actually dying if we were to have another and not get to be with any of you." Taehyung brought his hand to Jungkook's cheek, using his thumb to wipe away a stray tear that the alpha hadn't even been aware of. "You made the right choice; I could never hate you for that." He pulled Jungkook into a soft, loving kiss, the alpha relaxing into it. "When can I meet Minseok and Minsoo?" Taehyung then whispered.
"After I call the nurses in here to check on you." Jungkook promised, kissing Taehyung one more time before going to do just that.

"So can you still have heats or…"
Taehyung nodded in response to Katelyn, his closest work friend. It was his first day back at work since birth and his hysterectomy and had immediately been bombarded with curious questions from the female omega. He happily answered all of them, as he knew they were just coming from a place of interest. "They said they won't happen as frequently as before or be as severe, but I'll still have them." Taehyung pouted. "No more getting off work for a week every three months now."
Katelyn sighed in sympathy for him. "Literally the only perk to having them."
They continued to converse for a while until Megan, another coworker, interrupted them. "Taehyung, there's someone at the front asking for you."
"That's weird." Taehyung murmured, as the only people who ever visited him at work were Jungkook and Jimin, both of whom would always just come straight to his desk. "I'll be back." He promised Katelyn before heading out to the reception area, where he proceeded to freeze at the sight of the older omega standing in the middle of the room. "Eomma?"
His mother turned to him, a smile immediately blooming on her face. "Hi, baby bear."
