Reaching the ornate glass doors, he saw the back of a lean figure facing the gardens. He immediately knew who it was. A long silky dress hugged her frame, the material dipping to her waist, exposing her entire back. Draco was aware of the high slit in the front baring one of those sinful legs because he spent most of the night trying to steal inconspicuous glances at her, as he did every day at work.
Silently grabbing the doorknob, he stepped onto the balcony, wanting to soak her up for a few moments before it got too creepy.
“I see I'm not the only one hiding away from the party.” Taking two steps, he closed the distance between them.
“Seeing as you are here Malfoy, it's no longer a hiding spot.”

Summary
Hermione Granger has just completed her Master of Magic studies at the new graduate school located on the Malfoy estate. The spring term has ended, and she got through the whole year without ever once having to see a member of the Malfoy family or face her traumatic memories from the Second Wizarding War. Now she will be staying alone on the estate for two weeks leading up to her qualifying exams, with nothing to do but enjoy the private library in Malfoy Manor.
Lucius Malfoy has lost nearly everything in the aftermath of the war--except his home. There may be students encroaching on his land, thanks to the deal he was forced to make with the Ministry of Magic, but even if his family has left him and his fortunes are dwindling, he knows his real source of power is right here in the walls of his Manor. When a pesky girl invades his sanctuary and threatens his privacy, Lucius loses his grip on his refined, cultured facade and shows her a wounded beast clamoring for expression.
