“Still,” Will said, grabbing one of Mike’s trophies off the desk, something from AV club years ago. “He could stand to be a bit kinder about it.” He walked over to stand face to face with him, hazel eyes looking upwards to meet his own. “And to flirt a bit less.”
Mike swallowed, heart pounding at just how close he was. He could feel his breath on his face. “Are—is there a reason you’re here, now? Is something wrong?”
Will shrugged. “Call it curiosity. Mike managed to help your version of me, and I suppose I wanted to return the favor. And, of course, I would never turn down the chance to see my fiancé in another world.”
He reached up unexpectedly, trailing his fingers through Mike’s hair, down his face, and holding his chin, his thumb pressed against Mike’s lips. He was warm.
“I haven’t seen my love with short hair in many years. It suits you.”A couple of weeks after Mike the Brave's appearance, Will the Wise comes to have a chat with Mike.

Summary
Will bites his lip and nods, looking down at his shoes again so Richie won't see how hard he's holding back a giddy smile.
Everybody in the party knows everything about him. Maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing to keep a secret from Mike for a little while.
It's kind of exciting. Sneaking in a boy Mike hates.
Will shakes his head, trying to clear Mike from it for the night. Only when he looks back up at Richie, Richie has this conspiratorial smile on his face, like maybe Will isn't the only one eager to piss off Mike Wheeler.
OR: the concept of Richie Tozier being Will Byers' dirty little secret and Mike Wheeler being so jealous he can't breathe. Byler endgame.

Summary
In an alternate universe, Will never goes to the Upside Down. He never grew up in Hawkins. And he was never childhood friends with Mike Wheeler.
One night at a club, he meets Mike, with his nerdy glasses and interesting stare, and they connect. Sparks fly. Butterflies swoop. Will has never felt this attracted to anyone.
But Mike isn't from Will's universe, but another where the Mind Flayer won and Will is his to control. And Mike has finally found a Will he can rewrite history with.

“Will?” Mike whispers. “What—” he trails off. Dustin and the others are shouting over the walkie, all their voices overlapping in panic, but Mike’s only listening to Will.
“Use it on me.”
Will shifts on his knees, his grip on Mike’s arm tightening like he knows Mike is dying to run. He places the knife into Mike’s hand.
“At the military zone, I felt like I was burning when they hurt it. It has to work the other way around, right? It’s a hivemind. If you hurt me, it should weaken all of them.”
Or: in a moment of panic, Will convinces Mike to hurt him to save the Party. In another moment of panic, Mike kisses him to keep him conscious.
