There’s an institute up north, for these- these hopeless cases and whatnot - St Brutus's Secure Centre for Boys. During a split moment of panic and fear, Yuuta Okkotsu makes a binding vow, one that is meant to keep someone he cares for alive. But vows, like everything, have their drawbacks, and even if he is one of the strongest sorcerers to ever exist, it will still affect him in some way. For a binding vow to take on the intended effect made by the caster, said caster has to give ‘something’ of value to activate it, or even place a rule on themselves, one that can not be broken with no excuses. Breaking a vow could have devastating effects, for the user and sometimes everyone around them.
But what has Yuuta given? What exactly did he trade off for the sake of giving his friend, Yuuji, another chance at life? Yuuta knows what he has given, but he won’t willingly speak it out loud, because… it’s all for Yuuji’s sake.
Or
Yuuta ‘binds’ Yuuji to himself for life, then in turn they are rendered immortal, and it will stay that way unless Yuuta’s vow is broken. But… is that even a possible task? There may be a way for it to break, but even it’s possible, is there a reason to do it? Yuuta doesn’t think so.

“Regardless of whether he’s a vessel or not, Sukuna consumed a special grade cursed object. Regulations would mandate he dies, no matter what.” Megumi took a deep breath, lifting his chin to look Gojo in the eyes, even with the blindfold as a buffer. “But I don’t want him to die.”
Gojo was silent for a moment, even though his lips had stretched into a smile. It was rare, really, for Gojo to come anywhere close to resembling genuine emotion, and yet in this moment…in this moment, Megumi knew he was dealing with the real Gojo.
“Is that a personal opinion?” Gojo asked, with his genuine, sad little smile.
“Yes, it’s a personal opinion,” Megumi returned. “Please save him.”

“Oh god, don’t tell me I’ve forgotten my own girlfriend or something.” Yuji grabs his own head in distress. “Please, please tell me she’s tall with a big butt.”
“More like boyfriend.” Kugisaki scoffs before she can think better.
Gojo scratches his chin. “At least he’s got one of those traits.”
“Boyfriend?” Yuji drops his hands off his head and blinks helplessly at them all. “I have a boyfriend?”
The answer is no. It would be a very easy thing to clear up. Kugisaki knows that’s what any decent person would do. But then she looks at Gojo. One corner of his mouth keeps twitching, ghosting the most conspiratorially wicked smile she’s ever seen. She presses her lips together, hiding her own evil grin. There was something in Yuji’s voice that caught her off guard. Something… hopeful.
Yuji hits his head and while most of his memory remains intact, he's forgotten someone very important. A certain Fushiguro Megumi who he was definitely not dating before the concussion. Though, that small detail would never stop Kugisaki from spreading a little bit of false information in the pursuit of an incredible prank. Or it would have been an incredible prank if only things didn't get so... out of hand.

Or, in a world where Itadori Wasuke never died, Yuji has been working as a firefighter, blissfully unaware of curses. He takes care of his grandfather, helps out around the neighborhood, and saves cats from trees in a quiet corner of Sendai.
Megumi, on the other hand, is tired of the jujutsu world. When he comes across a young man too good to be true, he falls for him. And Megumi is perfectly happy keeping Yuji in the dark about jujutsu to preserve their small slice of normalcy.
However, Kenjaku never planned on letting Sukuna's Vessel live in peace forever. Soon enough, his plans would come together, and no meddling sorcerers were going to stand between him and his tools.
