She would work hard for her NEWTs, achieve the highest scores in Hogwarts history - take that, Malfoy!- and enter a potion and alchemy apprenticeship to follow her ancestor's footsteps and become a pioneer in the potion world.
Only for Harry to best her in the first potion class of the year and win the vial of Felix Felicis that should have been hers.
If only Hermione could explain how her plan to brew a little Liquid Luck for herself led to her holding hands with the bane of her existence -Draco Malfoy - while eating breakfast in the Great Hall.
