Welcome to MSR Week 2025!

This week (8-14 September 2025) is dedicated to everything Scully and Mulder and their relationship! A huge thank you to @NFRMlGA on Twitter for planning out this week, which coincides with the week The X-Files ‘Pilot’ released in 1993, 32 years ago!

The prompts for MSR Week 2025 are as follows:

Day 1/Monday: Pick an arc (William, IVF, Abduction, Cancer, etc.)
Day 2/Tuesday: Fight the Future
Day 3/Wednesday: 1) MSR Holidays (Christmas, Halloween, etc.) 2) MSR Journey S1-S11
Day 4/Thursday: 1) Angst 2) Body Swap

FAQ:

Q: How do I add my work to this collection?
A: When preparing to publish your work, scroll down to “Associations”. Where it says “Post to Collections/Challenges”, type in “MSR Week 2025” and click on it! It will also say in brackets next to it “(MSRWeek2025)”. That is the correct one to use! From there you continue preparing to publish your work as usual.

Q: What if I’m not ready to publish a work on the specific prompt date?
A: No worries, this collection will remain OPEN! If you wish to publish a work for a prompt on a different day of the week or even after the week is over, you can! Just make sure you specify in your Summary for which day and prompt it is for. Example: “Day 5 of MSR Week 2025: Age Gap MSR”.

Q: For every work I publish, should I specify in my Summary the day and prompt like in the example above?
A: Yes, that would be really helpful!

Q: Do I have to follow the prompts?
A: No, you don’t! The prompts are merely a suggestion, you’re more than welcome to post MSR works that aren’t specifically a part of the prompts and add them to the collection!

Q: Can I incorporate two prompts into one work?
A: Of course! If you want to, for example, write an Angsty Fight the Future or perhaps a Silly Autistic MSR work, by all means!

Q: What if I am in an earlier timezone and want to publish my work when it is not yet the same day for everyone else?
A: You may publish your work whenever you wish! If it is Day 3 for you and you’re prepared to publish your work for that day, go right ahead! As stated earlier, you may publish your work whenever you are ready to as the days and prompts are merely guides. Sure, most fans will want to stick to the specific prompts and dates but it isn’t compulsory!

Q: Is there a tag we can use for MSR Week 2025?
A: Yes! On socials feel free to use #msrweek2025 when posting your works, be it edits, art or fics! You can even tag “MSR Week 2025” in the Additional Tags of your works on AO3 to help fans filter for the content if they are unaware of this collection (Although I sure hope this will be the most effective way of keeping track of the works!)

Q: If I have another question regarding MSR Week 2025, who do I speak to?
A: Any questions regarding MSR Week 2025 in its entirety can be directed to Lotte @NFRMlGA. If you wish to ask any questions regarding the MSR Week 2025 Fic Collection on AO3, you may direct your questions to me on @scificscully on Twitter!

Rules:

1) NO AI IS PERMITTED. Please share your original work! Fans spend countless hours and days writing, drawing and editing work for the love of it. If you are unable to do the same, rather enjoy reading what others have gifted us with.

2) BE RESPECTFUL AND KIND. Once again, this is time taken out of the days of creators lives. This is for enjoyment and expression. If you have nothing nice to comment about a work— be it due to characterization or it not being your favourite storyline etc., you don’t have to comment on it! And if you do enjoy a work, please leave comments and kudos on it! This week is about MSR but it’s also about the community, sharing positive feedback and making connections is important!

3) PLEASE ONLY ADD RELEVANT FICS TO THE COLLECTION. This collection has been created specifically for The X-Files community and works related to Scully, Mulder and their relationship. Of course if you are creating an AU that takes place in another show, you may tag it as required.

4) PLEASE MAKE USE OF TAGS. Ensure you tag your works as correctly as possible. Not everyone is comfortable with certain types of fics. For example, if you are writing about the Cancer Arc, make sure you tag it as such. If there is a Major Character Death, tag it. If your work is Explicit, TAG IT AS SUCH. Trigger warnings in your Notes prior to the work can also work. Please be mindful of others and what may or may not be comfortable for the next person.
