Tony’s eyes meet hers, and that’s the first time he realizes that she knows something he doesn’t. There’s complete understanding in her soft expression, and he can’t help but think that maybe the hole in his heart isn’t just a side effect of being a superhero.

Peter loops his thumbs through his belt loops and leans back on his heels, eyeing these newcomers through the goggles he has yet to remove from his face. Doctor Strange—and is that his real name? —doesn’t seem like he’s asking if Peter is in fact, Pietro Maximoff. No, the man is looking at him through confident eyes, as if simply waiting for Peter to confirm what he already knows.
“That’s me,” Peter says, though he’s trying to stay on the air of caution. “But here, they call me Peter.”
