Summary
Ilya Rozanov is an incredibly skilled and famous hockey player, maybe the best in the league. He’s known for being captain of the team in Ottawa, for being constantly surrounded by adoring fans, and for being kind of an asshole.
Shane Hollander is the founder and director of a charity hockey school in Montreal. He loves his job and takes it very seriously, which leaves little time for socializing or just about anything else.
Ilya and Shane cross paths when Ilya’s manager insists on boosting his public image with a little charity work. The two don’t exactly click, yet they can’t stop thinking about each other. Mutual attraction turns into a hook up, and then another, and then suddenly a positive pregnancy test.
Shane and Ilya have to figure out how to navigate this complicated situation, and in the process discover the feelings they have for each other are a lot deeper than they thought.

He knew they would ask. He had rehearsed a PR answer. Instead of giving it, he froze. The noise from the gaggle of reporters slowly stilled as well, as though the air had left the room. The microphone picked up his swallow.
“This game is sometimes cruel,” he heard himself say. “When we played against each other, I was the best I could be. But he is not dead. I doubt this is the last we will hear from Shane Hollander.”Years later, after winning cups that should have gone to Montreal, Ilya hears Shane Hollander's voice again.
