Almost on instinct, he reached out to touch the surface of the rock, but just as he did-
“Wait-!” Brian exclaimed right as Daithi reached out, but it was a moment too late. The blinding light ignited the surrounding area, almost like a lightning bolt had just hit the spot Daithi had been in.
A brief moment of silence followed, only to be met with a loud, overwhelming crash.
Daithi screamed. He wasn’t sure if it was from pain or fear – more than likely, both – but he couldn’t feel anything. He couldn’t see anything. He couldn’t hear anything. It was terrible. He could only hope that he was screaming. He could only hope that he still existed at all.
In one horrific moment he was back in the present. Alive.
