“I came here to claim you,” Aemond says, with such ferocity in his tone that Jace goes rigid.
“What?”
“The moment you presented, the first thing you did was seek me out.” Aemond’s eye is fixed upon him with an intensity that sends a flush blooming across Jace’s cheeks. He instinctively tips his chin up, baring his throat; something about the cold command in Aemond’s tone, his demeanor, makes it impossible not to submit. Aemond’s lips curl up as he tracks the motion.
“Good,” he says, and this time there is a purr in his voice. “You feel it too.”
