Summary
His smile is tense and odd and twisted, too high on one end and turned a bit down on the other. He isn’t sitting, yet it feels as though he leaps to his feet upon their arrival anyway, bounding towards James with an almost relieved sounding, “Mr. Rhodes! It’s wonderful to meet you. I’m Tony, and this—” he gestures behind him, towards the teenager that only sinks lower in his seat, scowl deepening even further, “—is my son, Harley.”
Despite the clear disinterest in the situation, Harley still glances towards James and huffs out a reluctant, “Hello, Mr. Rhodes,” before turning his head towards the wall and acting as if none of them are there.
James smiles at him, even though he’s no longer looking. “Hello, Harley. It’s nice to meet you.” Then, turning towards Tony, he extends a hand and says, “And you, Mr. Stark. You can call me James.”
Tony’s face twists. “As long as you call me Tony."

this is not what james, former high school teacher on the hunt for a job, had expected when he applied to be a tutor at the start of the school year.

Truly a piece of art! I don't even usually like these pairings or this type of AU, but loving this fic is as natural as breathing.

Summary
Peter is there, slumped over the kitchen island, slowly cramming spoonfuls of Double Chocolate Cookie Crisp into his mouth, hair tousled and sticking up every which way, and Tony realizes with sudden clarity that he’s fighting a losing battle. Maybe not today, maybe he can put it off for a while, but someday he’s just going to have to give up and love this ridiculous kid.
-
In which Tony Stark learns object lessons about love, sacrifice, death, friendship, and parenthood; and makes his peace with the unfortunate reality that his penthouse will be crawling with asshole teenagers every weekend for the foreseeable future. Follows canon...loosely. Ahem.

Basically a 100k-word hug
“True,” Tony says, popping a piece of broccoli into his mouth. “Question two: Why would you have to follow Peter underground?”
“Because he’s my best friend and I love him,” Ned answers, like he’s stating that the sky is blue, or some other obvious fact.
Peter doesn’t look at all taken aback by the declaration of affection; in fact, he’s nodding knowingly. “Yeah,” he says, through a mouthful of chicken. “I’d follow Ned into an underground lair too. He’s the Frodo to my Sam.”
“I’m Sam,” Ned corrects. “You’re Frodo.” Peter thinks about this for a second, and then nods again in agreement.
This little exchange is so startling and touching that Tony feels a sudden tightening in his throat. He wants to tell Ned, I’m so glad Peter has you. Thank you. Instead he says, “Right then, Shirelings. Question three: Why a clone army?”

“I thought you were my intern,” Tony says.
“Well, yeah, but it’s not like official or anything,” Peter reasons. “I can’t exactly put Spider-Man on my resume. Miss Potts had me fill out paperwork and everything.”
“Oh, well—paperwork. Very fancy. And what exactly are you doing for this ‘official internship’?” Tony asks, pouring himself a much needed cup of coffee.
“Um, she has me doing some marketing stuff.”
Tony spins around, sloshing coffee everywhere, his eyebrows shooting upward. “Marketing?”

Summary
Tony and Pepper snatched Peter up only a few weeks after the first Spider-Man video went viral. Real fucking coincidence, right? Suddenly, Tony Stark rocked right up at his group home, strewing business cards around like he was Oprah. If Oprah were an ugly white dude with a goatee.
“Big fan,” he told Peter, fasting forward through a video of Spider-Man catching a bus before it crashed through a road block. “In and out of foster care your whole life, am I right? I believe my wife and I could provide a very fitting home for you.”
“Pass,” Peter said.Series
