    Till’s loud, scratchy voice, raised even louder to scream at him, the sharp pull of grubby fingers in his hair, alien grass and red flowers staining the pristine white of his Anakt Garden uniform. The edge of a sob in Till’s tone, and a heavy, choking feeling Ivan is slowly identifying in himself as excitement. He doesn’t mind making Till cry. He looks good like that, red-faced, frustrated. If Mizi so much as glances at him, Till flushes down to his neck, but Ivan’s options are more limited. It’s a shame, really. The red compliments the green of his eyes. He just wishes he could see them directed at him more often.

    But, no matter. This was the hand he was dealt. He'll have to make the most of it.
