The way you write is mesmerizing. You choose your words and craft your sentences so well that they flow, and the water shimmers. I love the shifts in narrative between the characters. It's great to see the different perspectives. You build tension wonderfully. I feel like I'm right there with them - stress, tension, and awkwardness hang in the air. It's awful that no matter how hard they try, one wrong move and everything could crash and they could lose Shadow. Is he really awake??? I can't stand this cliffhanger...
