There's a longer version of this story in an alternate universe somewhere that has a little bit of an arranged marriage angle (which was also one of the keywords you gave iirc) but I just didn't have enough story space to work it in here. It would have been too much exposition for not enough action. And I probably wouldn't have finished it on time xD
