Uhh I don’t think you can just include sigh in the dialogue like that because that might look like the word itself is said out loud, not as the action "-sigh- Yes, a ship full of losers. Every single one of us got cheated by life one way or another," Mai added. Since she obviously included herself, it wasn't meant as mean in any way.

Actually, many authors insert such things into dialogue. Some use little stars, I use the dashes for the purpose. I think authors simply rely on the intelligence of their readers to understand it's not spoken out aloud and a sound.
