This is hands down one of my favorite MCU fics ever, and yes, I totally believe that Steve would have socked Howard (at the very least) for his shitty behaviour to Tony. And as much as I love Stony, I love that this works both on a slash and a gen level, because damn does Tony need someone to stick up for him and it's all the better if it's Steve. Nice work!
Steve and Tony are my brotp to end all brotps and canon just makes me angry these days so yes, I revel in stuff like this. I have a lifetime membership in the Tony Stark Defense Squad and I choose to believe that, in a world where everyone's characterization isn't being blown up for the sake of creating conflict, Steve does too.
