Summary
Normally, Peter would be against revenge. This was not a normal situation. He could take the bullying, both physical and emotional, but they hadn’t focused their attention on Ned in a long time. Peter let them hurt him, as long as they didn’t touch Ned. In this situation, where they had broken the unspoken rules, his first instinct was to even the score, morals be damned.
“Peter,” Ned’s voice strained, “no. Remember what Mr. Stark said? Revenge will only hurt you in the long run.”
Or: Peter gets tired of Flash and shows off what he can do in gym class after a hard weekend. (Featuring Peter's abandonment issues and Tony Stark's daddy issues)

Summary
One of the biggest changes to Peter’s life after the spider bite was his new instincts. He was literally part spider now, and that came with its own set of challenges. His instincts were more developed than they were when he was fully human, like he was more in tune with the animalistic part of him. He was considered a feral mutant, or at least that’s what Tony said.
Though none of that changed the fact that he was still a teenager that had to go to high school.
Or: Peter's protective instincts are triggered in the middle of APUSH but it turns out to be a false alarm

Summary
Peter knew he was strange. He knew the spider bite changed him in ways that shouldn’t be possible. He also knew that this new version of himself was who he was always supposed to be. He liked who he was. Even through the whispers behind his back and right in his face, he liked who he was.
People talked. They talked about him, the people around him, even people he pretended not to know. They talked about the changes his body went through, the hint of fangs, the sudden flash of red eyes, the muscles he had gotten overnight, the scars marring every inch of his skin. They talked about the noises he made, the reactions he had to sudden movements, the way he walked around without shoes and didn’t even address it.
Or: Peter is the cryptid of Midtown High, and people like to gossip about him

Summary
Look, it's only a matter of time until they let something slip, Peter knows this, but he really didn't expect it to go this way. Who knew that staying awake for three days straight before going on a snack run isn't a good idea for secret identities and/or secret kids? ("I'm not Mr. Stark's kid! Seriously, Abe, why would you think that? It's not like he pays for me, clothes me, feeds me, helps me through nightmares... Oh. Huh.")
Or: two sleep-deprived geniuses get hungry and make bad decisions

Summary
It’s a common theme by this point that most New Yorkers, especially in Hell’s Kitchen and Queens, will look the other way and leave suspected mutants to themselves. Sure, cops have been known to go harder at mutants for no reason, but most regular people will simply ignore them until they go away.
Or: Peter visits his other vigilante friends, builds a nest, catches a building, goes through a second spider maturity, and masterfully avoids his classmates' revealing questions

Summary
“No, it’s okay, Tony,” Peter says. He unzips his backpack and stuffs Thor’s hammer into it. It stretches a bit but holds. “I’ll drop it off at the tower after school. I can’t just leave it where anyone can take it, that would be irresponsible.”
“Um, kid? Did you pick it up?”
“Yeah, why?” Peter shrugs his backpack onto one shoulder and starts kicking dirt into the hole that the hammer made from the impact of Thor’s throw.
“No reason,” Mr. Stark sounds strangled.

Summary
It’s a familiar song and dance to excuse himself from class, and from there he makes his way to the second story where most of the chemistry classrooms are. According to the data on his phone, he doesn’t have much time to get things ready.
“Honestly,” Peter tells Karen as he fiddles with some chemicals in an empty classroom, “you’d think he would learn by this point. I mean, it goes the same way every time, right? He attacks, I dose him with chemicals, he goes to jail, and he inevitably escapes so we can do it all again. Why does he still think he can get me?”
Aka: Hydro-Man is a particularly persistent nuisance, and it's making Peter think more about prison reform

Summary
“Testing, testing,” a very familiar voice cuts through the silence. Ned relaxes in a huff. “Is this thing on? Kidding, I know you can hear me, Midtown. I would apologize for the interruption, but honestly I’m not that sorry. Yeah, yeah, I’m sure you’re all receiving a very important education here. That’s not important.”
Peter very quietly curses. It’s loud in the brief silence between Tony’s words. People are already looking over to him before Tony freaking Stark continues his message over the intercom.
“Peter,” and that sends a chill down his spine, “we need you.”
OR: Peter doesn't bring his phone to school on the one day where he needs to, so Tony is forced to get creative to contact him

Summary
While Spider-Man is a menace to the villains that call New York their home, Peter Parker is a surprisingly good listener for their woes. It starts with a hostage situation, as things often do, and Sandman monologuing about his latest stint in prison and how hard it is to get back into the villain game after so long locked up. Then came a kidnapping at Stark Tower while Electro tried to steal an Arc Reactor for the seventh time, then happening upon Lizard one day while walking home from school. Tony says Peter is villain catnip. But this? This is too much.
Peter’s entire AcaDec group sits on the ground, backs pressed up against the wall of the coffee shop Kraven the Hunter has taken hostage.
Or: after so many incidents with bad guys as Peter instead of Spider-Man, he decides to go with the flow and play into it a little
