Summary
This is an AU of loosingletters' The Background Noise Of Defiance verse
Instead of Luke inadvertently revealing to his anonymous holonet friend that his last name is Skywalker, thus revealing himself as the son of said holonet friend (yes, Darth Vader has a Space Twitter), he keeps mum and instead takes on Vader's job offer, becoming the new Head Engineer aboard the Executor, alias, the Lady. While he's thrilled to be there, thriving on getting to improve the lackluster hardware that gets shunted onto the rank-and-file of the Empire and building up a rapport with the mysterious Sith Lord who is fast becoming the father figure he never had, not everyone aboard is as happy about the young engineer shaking up the previously well-cemented hierarchy of the Lady.
But ask Luke and Vader if they care. All Piett knows is that this is gonna be one hell of a headache and way above his paygrade. At least he gets to see his boss be put in his place by a teenage engineer and Lord Vader himself.

Summary
As it turns out, inventing new armor technology was the easy part. Getting it approved for actual production, Luke finds, is a lot more work and a lot more boring. Thankfully, he has his mentor, Darth Vader, to help him sort through the process and occasionally keep him company throughout all the boring meetings. Unfortunately, his industrious and ingenious nature catches the attention of many other people, some of which Luke really wishes he could've avoided the attention of.
After getting summoned to the Imperial Palace by the Emperor to present his latest invention to the Court and the Senate, Luke finds himself smackdab in the middle of a complicated web of Imperial politics, the threads of which he can't yet see.
There lurks more in these shadows than just threats however, and Luke may not be the wholly naïve and inexperienced prey some of the players in the Imperial Court were expecting. With enough charm and tenacity, he finds that here too, friendships can be found and pacts can be forged. And with the full might of Darth Vader at his back, perhaps the Imperial Court would've done better to leave well enough alone.
Too late now though. Ready or not, Imperial Center, Here Comes Luke Skywalker!

Summary
We rejoin our favorite Engineer three days after our adventure on Imperial Center, caught up on the backlog of work and ready to continue his crusade to improve the tech aboard the Lady one piece at a time.
A dire accident puts a halt to that plan, and before the dust has even settled, Luke is rushed to medical under dire circumstances, Darth Vader is besides himself with worry, and Firmus Piett never asked for any of this. Unfortunately, the later two will have to make quick work of the investigation, as shadowy entities creep closer with dark designs, revealing that the accident may not have been that accidental.
Sabotage, treason, and mystery. A deadly cocktail that will have bodies hitting the floor as the search for the traitors tears through the Lady like a witchhunt. No one commits treason aboard the Lady and gets away with it, and with the young engineer injured, the crew finally shows their true colors.
All the while Luke has to recover from this tragedy, and learn to live without that which cannot be replaced. But Vader is there for him, and through all the pain and grief, something may yet grow from this as bonds grow stronger and deeper.
And in the background, something ancient stirs.

Summary
At the altar of the Storm, a desperate Mother prays for the salvation of her Children, and receives more than ever bargained for. With the Storm Wraith now assigned to rescue the two Children from the clutches of a cruel slave Master filled with greed and malice, he employs all manner of trickery and mystics to get the job done and make his charges Free before Sunrise.
A Tatooinian myth told as an in-universe Storyteller would. This is the mythologized account of one of Luke's Flights, and how the general public of Tatooine views his exploits and passes them on from person to person. Read carefully, and you can probably catch a glimpse between the lines of how the Flight really occurred. Though keep in mind that on Tatooine, myth and magic are as much reality as they are fiction, and Skywalkers have always blurred the lines of both.

Summary
The Guides is a long and varied story, but sometimes, I wish to write shorter, snappier scenes that pop into my head at random while working on the bigger installments. This work will function as a collection for all such snippets, one-shots, and other such things, showing smaller moments out of the vast legend that the Guides will span. Tales of romance, horror, triumph, tragedy, humor, wonder, or the simple mundane. Of main characters, side characters, and background characters, this will be a place to tell a tale of all.
To note, none of these stories are what I consider to be strictly canon to the main story line unless stated otherwise, but will be canon compliant to the state of the story as it existed in the moment they were written, unless, again, stated otherwise. So, let me weave a bit of magic, and build you a mythos of tales here that may or may not be true, one story at a time.
