Summary
Zuko was probably more involved in the gossip around the palace than he had any right to be.
It’s not his fault, it’s really not. It’s just that sometimes he’s sitting in the kitchens (the best place to get the gossip) drinking tea and trying to relax for once, and some of the kitchen staff will start gossiping where he can still hear them. He doesn’t really try to listen in; it’s not his place and he won’t judge the staff based on whatever rumors are running around, but Spirits is it interesting. He tries not to listen too much, or get too invested in it though. Gossip is gossip after all, and rumors hardly ever turn out to be true.
But Zuko absolutely needs to know if Maya from the laundry room broke up with her piece of shit boyfriend.
Or, 5 times Zuko got invested in/meddled in palace gossip, and 1 time he was the subject of the gossip.

Summary
Ever since Fire Lord Zuko had taken the throne, the Fire Nation had seemed to become a brand new nation.
No longer are people jumping at the chance to fight and burn in their anger. Instead, the people are choosing to burn with a different kind of passion; one fueled by care and love, no longer afraid to live their lives for themselves and not their nation.
A side effect of this new era of peace has been an upsurge of marriages and more public relationships.
It’s only natural that in this time of peace and love, the people want their Fire Lord to find love as well.
And thus, Operation: Get the Fire Lord a Boyfriend was born.
Or, 5 times the people of the Fire Nation tried to get Zuko and Sokka together, and 1 time they realized they already were.

Summary
While trying to stop himself from falling, Chen had been flailing his arms in a desperate attempt to regain his balance. All his flailing manages to do, however, is smack his arm into one of the torches lining the wall. The force of his arm hitting the torch causes it to fall from its holder. Chen watches from the floor in horror as the torch falls, and somehow, somehow, on its way down, the flame touches the portrait of Fire Lord Sozin. Which then begins to catch fire. Chen feels like he’s watching everything happen in slow motion as the portrait is slowly being eaten up by flames. The portrait of Fire Lord Sozin is on fire holy shit.
Chen thinks he’s going to faint.
Or, times Fire Lord Zuko was nice and people were surprised, and one time everyone expected it.

Zuko is steadfastly, unflinchingly, resolutely, determined to be a Firelord incomparable to the ones before him. To his great-grandfather. To his grandfather. To his father. Zuko will not be like them; not in name, not in mind, and not in spirit. Zuko will pave his own way by the blood of his hands and the skin of his teeth, he will start the change that the Fire Nation needs in order to bring true peace to the nations.

Summary
The leaders of the other nations are not sure what to make of this new Firelord. He's too young, too inexperienced, and while he may have helped save the world, there was also a time when he was working against it. It's not until they meet Firelord Zuko for themselves do they realize he is not at all what they had assumed.

Honestly, I’m not sure what else to write. I guess I just wanted to talk to you. I think I miss you guys. The only people I talk to here are Uncle and a staff that’s terrified of me. Is it strange to say I miss before? When we were all together? I know that’s terrible to say– we were at the height of the war and fighting for our lives. Sorry, I don’t know what I’m saying anymore. Should probably try to rest some more. This wasn’t much of a letter, but I hope you write back anyway.
