Summary
After visiting his mother when her health takes a dive, Spencer's headaches start to get worse. Add in a severe lack of sleep that's apparently making him hallucinate now too, and he's just not having a good time.
The BAU team travels to Portland, Oregon after being called in for a case that's connecting to multiple missing persons cases across the last decade, and it doesn't take long to notice that the details just aren't matching up. Luckily they can lean on the expertise of local Detectives Nick Burkhardt and Hank Griffin, right?

He goes to his mother’s room and sits down and stares at the creases of her face, the crows feet at her eyes from years of smiling and laughing, and prays that his eidetic memory will make an exception to the lack of written word in favor of letting him remember what she looked like when he was little, when they sat in bed reading for hours at a time and pretended that she wasn’t as far out of reach as she really was.

Summary
A week after his mother’s memorial, Spencer Reid returns to the BAU with a multitude of new knowledge under his belt. His fresh identity as a Grimm is enough to adjust to, but now there’s also the fact that he knows one of his best friends is Wesen. It’s a lot to get used to, but when has Spencer ever let a challenge like that stop him?
Back at the trailer, Nick had told him that some of his best friends were Wesen. Monroe and Rosalee, those were the names he’d thrown out at the time, and Spencer hadn’t thought much of it because it made sense. Because Wesen are people too and all people have friends, so why wouldn’t Nick have Wesen friends?
In turn, Spencer realizes that that must apply to him, too. Because the world is wide and Wesen make up at least 35% of the population, according to Nick’s estimations, and by that logic, of course Spencer knows people who also happen to be Wesen and also happen to work in the BAU and also happen to be named Penelope Garcia—
