Summary
Izuku knew it would be hard to pretend that he'd always had a quirk. He thought the difficulty would be in lying to his friends about being a kid, pretending that he'd always had such strength and shied away from it... or something. The details could be figured out later.
He didn't think he'd have to worry about his own classmates. He didn't think he'd hear them talking about quirkless people as if they were the plague. He didn't think he'd have to struggle to stay quiet as they tore into the foundation he'd worked so hard to create.
And there was nothing he could do. Nothing but watch the life he'd created crumble because he'd been so, so naive.

Deku, even as a pro hero, was the sort of person you always had to worry about. He always smiles, always laughs, and there's always something beneath it all that he's never fully talked about.
Sometimes, they forget that there's trauma outside of the fighting, issues that aren't related to lives they failed to save.
Thankfully, they're perceptive enough that, eventually, they do notice.

But the most dangerous thing that a person could do is forget that he too can get angry. Can fill with rage like a balloon ready to burst.
That's a fact that Katsuki and Katsuki alone will never get caught off-guard with.

Katsuki had always been aware of Deku’s issues and his anxiety was obvious, even as a kid.
His depression, however, was a snake in the grass. It offered its sweet apple to anyone who tried to pry, placating curious eyes with an ‘I was tired,’ ‘I’m so clumsy,’ and the ever-present, ever-infuriating, ‘I’m fine.’
Katsuki always wondered why no one said anything when it was so obviously tearing the other apart.
He never considered that they just didn’t care.
Katsuki wonders if he has any right to, but he thinks that it's fair, that even if he doesn't have a right to Deku's happiness or his future, he has a responsibility to undo the hurt he'd ignored.
