Summary
Something whispered next to him, next to the yuzu tree. At the same time, something very familiar, utterly indescribable, twinged on the edge of his awareness. Suguru was on his feet in an instant, tanto drawn, while his nekomata shifted into its true form, swelling into a hulking figure of bristling, natty fur, red eyes, and a huge mouth distending horrifically around knives for teeth.
“Hey, Suguru. It’s been a while.” Fine white hair, a cheeky smile to accompany the cocky tone, a white sash tied over his eyes - that wasn’t Kamo at all, but someone even more unexpected. Suguru was speechless.
Taking Suguru’s silence as an invitation, Satoru hopped down from the fence where he had been crouching, sending a wave of snow sliding from the dark tiles. He made no sound as he landed in the garden, but then again, he didn’t leave any footprints behind, either.

Summary
Yuji continued alone, and every new step was harder than the last. A hush fell around him as the village disappeared from view, blotted out by the woods that engulfed him. Dark, damp, with pre-dawn mist curling around his ankles, it would have been a challenge not to become hopelessly lost, but Yuji had hunted there for as long as he could wield a hankyu and he knew them like the back of his hand. If he wanted to, he could have cast down the platter of offerings and made a run for it. He was fast, he was strong - no one could have stopped him. He could forever put this behind him.
Yuji ducked his head and squared his shoulders. He couldn’t allow his feet to falter. His hands were occupied, but he took comfort in the solidity of the knife he had secreted into his robes, pressed against his hip. His years as a hunter would finally pay off - Ryomen Sukuna’s tyranny would end with this offering.

If Suguru was such a big idiot, why hadn’t Satoru done anything himself?
Suguru didn’t utter a word. He wasn’t even facing Satoru, and Satoru had to brush the loose strands of dark hair from his eyes so that it didn’t cover his face. Satoru’s touch gentled, glided over his cold scalp, and when he tucked those errant strands away, his fingers stroked over the curve of Suguru’s ear like they always did.
“It’s only been two days and I miss you already.”

Satoru refuses to let Suguru go alone this time and resolves to find a way into Meido to bring him back from the dead.
