Summary
The War of Wrath is grinding into its third bloody decade, and Lord Elrond has a choice to make. His friend Elboron wants to help if he can, even though he isn’t willing to tell Elrond that he was born Elured Diorchil of Doriath, and that he is, in truth, Elrond’s own uncle.
Or, in which Uncle Elured does absolutely nothing to discourage Elrond (and Elros) from running away to fight in the Edain armies.

Oh, umm . . . Hi, Ereinion? by Susana Rosa (SusanaR)

Summary
Earendil and Elwing's sons were not idle during the War of Wrath. This was very much to their loving cousin (and foster-brother) Ereinion’s dismay, on any number of occasions. The worst of them being when the twins were refused his permission to fight in his army (due to their youth) for the third time. To which Elros and Elrond reacted by running away in the middle of the night without leaving word as to where they were going.
An entire year of worrying and nightmares over the terrible fates which might have befallen the twins was to pass, before Ereinion laid eyes on Elrond and Elros again. To his profound relief, his baby brothers were safe and sound. He was less pleased to find that they were also firmly ensconced in the fighting ranks of the Edain armies!
Or, in other words, growing up in a war zone is hard. This is true for both the young King of the Noldor on Middle Earth, and for his even younger twin peredhil cousins.

Summary
Maedhros and the twins’ tutor Arandil Glorfindelchil have both given them the same lesson, when it comes to warriors and their weapons. This does not please Arandil. Galadriel, however, is unsurprised. Celeborn, fortunately, arrived on the scene too late to hear the part about Maedhros, and just wishes that Elros would mind his language. Arandil has more realistic expectations for Elros (which is probably for the best).

During the twins’ clandestine meetings with the Sons of Feanor to exchange intelligence during the winter off-seasons of the War of Wrath, Maedhros and Maglor took the opportunity to further train the Elros and Elrond in the arts of war. During one of these annual reunions, Maedhros found the twins a particularly unusual guest teacher. A witch of the Avari, who had unique mind-magic techniques to share.

Summary
Young prince Thranduil Oropherion has just found out that he’s been lied to all his life. Father Yule isn’t real. Even his cousin Elrond had lied to him!
But Elrond explains his malfeasance so well that Thranduil can't even be angry and hurt anymore. Instead, he is happy and excited to start this new chapter of his life. One in which he becomes an active participant in the ‘world-wide, multi-generational conspiracy of kindness’ that is the real ‘Father Yule.’

Summary
"Thranduil," Elrond reproached, "when you invited us to come help you bring alms to an old woman who had information about an unsolved crime, you might have mentioned the part where you suspect that this old woman is a witch who perpetrated said crime."
Thranduil huffed in irritation as he accused, "Well, I would have, Elrond. Except that when I told you once that I thought there was a bandersnatch along with a wicked human witch hiding in my closet, you told me that wicked human witches aren't real!"
"I didn't say that human witches aren't real, my dear one. I said that bandersnaches aren't real. I also said that real human witches are rare."
Or, in which Elrond, Thranduil, and their companions have an interesting day in Eriador.

Summary
Elrond has just awoken to find himself a prisoner in an Enemy camp. He has a concussion, and he is surrounded by three very young (and scared) elves. None of whom he recognizes, and all of whom are looking to him for leadership in making an escape attempt. In the planning of which, it doesn’t take Elrond long to figure out that he lost something, when he was hit on the head. Specifically, about an Age’s worth of memories.
“It will be easier to escape from this camp now,” said Elrond, “before they take us all the way back to Angband.”
It was Thranduil, who, with a light of horrible comprehension dawning in his eyes, then asked, "Elrond, when do you think it is? I mean, what year?"
“I'd rather lost track of the days, even before that blow to the head,” Elrond admitted carefully, “So I'm not sure whether it's still Year 572 of the First Age of the Sun, or if it is already Year 573.”
“Um. No, it’s not,” Thranduil corrected, with a wince.
It really wasn't.

Summary
Elrond Peredhel is a hero of three great wars and the leader of Imladris. Sometimes people forget that, of all his titles, the first one Elrond earned was ‘healer.’
Now there is an outbreak of plague in the human villages along the River Celebrant. Elves cannot catch the plague; but part-elves can. Still, Elrond is a healer first.
Sometimes, people forget that, even the people who know Elrond best.
Ereinion Gil-Galad, who had nursed his peredhel cousin and heir through two different plagues, would not have forgotten. But he died in the final battle of the War of the Last Alliance.
Glorfindel is doing his best to be a good friend, Captain of the Guard, and bodyguard to the grieving Elrond, but he's definitely taken by surprise, this time.

Summary
It has been several weeks since the revelation that Aragorn had been tricked into fathering Faramir without his knowledge. All of Elrond’s children (including his son-by-law) have accepted the situation with equanimity. They hold no grudges and they have welcomed Faramir to their family.
Elrond likes and values Faramir; but he is having trouble coming to terms with this long-ago betrayal of his heart-son and dishonor to his daughter. He wasn’t sure what he had expected to find, wandering the halls of the Citadel while he pondered his disquiet. But Elrond certainly hadn’t foreseen running into Finduilas’ ghost. Or, rather, a ghostly message which Finduilas had left behind for her old teacher Mithrandir, one meant to explain her actions. Now Elrond has no choice but to listen.

Summary
Fingon thinks that fighting Void monsters from the deck of Vingilot is a 'fun little warm up for Dagor Dagorath.' Maedhros wishes that Elrond would give him a straight answer to what he thinks is a very reasonable question. Thranduil feels that helping him come up with a better way for elves to practice fighting dragons is 'the very least that Maedhros could do, after he was responsible for killing everyone's grandparents.' These three things are not unrelated.
Chapter 2 Summary: In which Fingon is still only Finwe's sixth most reckless grandchild, and in which Earendil decides to adopt Maedhros as his new brother (almost) immediately upon meeting him.
