This series is just a collection of my favorites of the stories I've written (and separately posted) about Elrond in the First Age, Second Age, and Early Third Age.

I love 'young Elrond' stories, so I thought that other people might, too, and might appreciate being able to find my stories about a younger Elrond in one place.

These stories are roughly in chronological order.

Regarding the length of the twins’ fosterage with the Sons of Feanor, I have them only spending a few years with them at Amon Ereb, before Maedhros and Maglor decide that they will be safer on the Isle of Balar. At that point, they arrange for a parley with Cirdan, and deliver the twins to his care. So, the twins grow up from the age of eight or so on the Isle of Balar, under the care of Cirdan, Ereinion, Galadriel, Celeborn, and sometimes Amdir. Then later, during the early years of the War of Wrath, Ereinion sent the twins (who were impatient to join the fighting) to be his ambassadors to the Sons of Feanor during a series of secret meetings for the purpose of exchanging intelligence.

A few notes re: chronological order:

Near the end of the series, I've posted my two anthology stories which feature Elrond in many (if not most) chapters, "Tales of the First Age," (all 'young Elrond,' some even 'child Elrond') and "Tales of the Elves of Imladris" (some young Elrond, some later Third Age Elrond and his children). Some of these individual story chapters have been polished up and posted separately, but some, such as "Ghosts of the Isle of Balar" in "Tales of the First Age" and "Consequences" in the "Tales of the Elves of Imladris," have not. I do not have any idea when I'll ever find the time to get around to that, so I'm sharing them as part of the series.

FYI, I ended up adding "Changeling Child" and "Reclaiming" to the end of this series, even though they feature a Third Age and Fourth Age Elrond (respectively), just so that I can easily find all of my Elrond-centric stories in one place.

 

A few notes re: Elrond's (and Elros's) physical appearance for purposes of my stories:

I see Elrond as having ebony black hair with raven's wing blue-black iridescence. His eyes are a shade of blue-gray between heather blue/gray and slate blue/gray.

I see Elrond as younger than he was cast in the movies, even though I think that Hugo Weaving is a great actor. I also see Elrond and some of the Imladris elves of Noldorin heritage as seeming somewhat Native American in features, although I'm not sure exactly why that is. It may because I like picturing male elves with long hair, and a lot of Native Americans in movies are depicted with lovely long hair. Or it might just be because the actor I found who makes me think of my mental picture of Elrond is Adam Beach in his role as Squanto in 1994's Squanto: A warrior's Tale.

Although, as above, I would picture him with gray eyes because Elrond and his twin having gray eyes like Melian, Luthien, and Elwing is a canon detail that I like, and generally use in my AU.
